Guild Wars 2

so let me first start off with this is not an argument thread, i really dont want it turn out that way but hey i dont control what people say or do.

So people are moaning over this Halloween event. A small event that happens once a year, Anets first event of Guild Wars 2. The game has been out for a grand total of around 2 months (im not quite sure, me and dates dont mix but i bought it on release), they have had many bugs to fix, many things to change, many updates to do. This can take up a massive amount of time just to do and people moan and threaten to quit that they havent got something from a chest that has a tiny drop chance and they have willingly paid money to open that chest (notice i say WILLINGLY – meaning you knew the chance, you pressed the button to pay, you put your details in, Anet didnt put them in for you), its pretty pathetic if you ask me.

Also the MASSIVE amount of content you get for £45 (i dont know what other countries paid), they dont ask for more money like other RPG’s. They dont turn around and go ‘thats another £15 a month’ or ‘go to the TP and buy everything.’ No they give you the opportunity to buy stuff off your OWN back and YOUR own decision. They dont make you buy something to proceed with the game.

you people who are threatening to quit this game over slight tiny things because everything isnt ironed yet are annoying me like crazy.

and stop moaning because this is the best game that you will get for your money with an MMORPG element

Also, the event has hardly begun, there is still quite a bit more fun (or heartache if your going to be pessimistic because a chest didn’t give you what you want…) to be had. If you ever played the Original Guild Wars you would know that Anet generally just puts in the basics of the event at first and THEN gets to the good stuff. Trust me when I say those who haven’t already quit should be pleasantly surprised by the coming acts.

It is not an argument thread I see. It is the “Society please tank my superior opinion thread”.

Having an event of this scale after two months of release is simply amazing and it alone deserves praise. People are upset about the lottery and are letting it pollute their perception of the entire event.

It’s a shame, really. I’ve been having a blast. You get all new non-combat activities that are permanent additions to the game, new recipes for crafters, new life breathed into starter areas and some pretty fun event non-combat activities. To top it all off everyone gets a souvenir to take home, the book backpack.

If people think it’s bad and a rip off (gems) thats fine, I can see there point of view, it has been very buggy and nothing really amazing, but thats fine. People feel cheated for the gems and that again is cool, a lot that aren’t happy are gw1 players, with good reason. The game runs on micro transactions a lot of people who paid for that feel ripped off.
Also less of content for cheap. no one asked ANet for this, it is there marketing plan, and hey! if they did have a sub model, would it hold up against others? From this event, I would say no. They claim to be a AAA MMO, and it’s simply not the case.
