Anyone create a decent looking black male?
Use the dredlocks. I did so for my Necromancer. You can also create a “reasonably Black” nose/cheekbone setup through character creation.
As an example:

Just do what I do and make him bald. Admittedly, the best face you’re going to get will make him look mixed at best. We’ll get better options when we get access to Elona, just like in GW1.
There’s absolutely nothing “attention-seeking” about wanting decent character creation options for non-white characters, and if anyone accused you of it, they’d deserve a swift kick in the pants. That is one aspect where the human options definitely fail, IMNSHO.
I don’t think the issue is that the options lean towards white features, as Shifu demonstrated. I think the issue is that male tyrian humans options lean toward a boyish pixie underwear models.
Shifu’s model looks like a white/asian in blackface. The most African featured character model is Braham, but his face isn’t recreate-able but has all the features I’m looking for. Also, if I could use Rox’s hairstyle I may have a charr toon also.
Black females are also really hard to pull off. Anet should add some more options.
Here’s my character. I also tried playing around with different face models, but they all looked mixed…
I saw a black male NPC in the human city. He actually looked half black.

Big bump to this. While I agree with Dustfinger about the looks being more boyish/pixie than just plain “white” I feel like there do need to be more options in face and hair (in both sexes) for a broader representation of what humans look like.

Ehh… I’d say it is more correct to state that Shifu’s model looks like steriotypical white/Asian in black face if we choose to ignore the myriad of physical traits that RL black males actually have. And if we simultaneously ignore the myriad of physical traits that white males actually have as well. I know black males that share incredible similarities to Shifu’s model that aren’t Asian, at all. The human face has a finite number of possibilities with a finite number of combinations. Some combinations and features are more prominent in certain areas but far from limited to those areas and people.
That said, I think we can all agree that more options for the human face is a good thing.
I don’t want to get in an argument w/ you about what features are available in my own race. I’ll let u have that argument. I just want some of the features a MAJORITY of africans have.

Oh, well your last post suggested something diffent about what kind of argument you wanted to have. And since you are actually looking for steriotypes. Good to know. But next time, maybe be mindful of the many other people of your own race who don’t fit a stereotype, before labeling their features as something that they wouldn’t have unless they weren’t who they say they are. That way no one confuses your actual intentions.
Well, since you’ve narrowed down the features of the majority of Africans, what exactly are you looking for? hair that is less straight, and what else?
