Biography, 3rd question
It’s a little underwhelming, to be honest – the Six should play a much larger role than they currently do, though Arena Net seem intent on giving the non-human races countless perks whilst denying humans the stuff that makes them intriguing.
Aside from adding an NPC devoted to the god you chose to your home instance, I haven’t found anything else to show for it.
The only thing you get from which God or Goddess you choose, is that their priest /priestess show up in you home instances, that all.
Guess that is kind of disappointing. I agree it would be better if gods played a more important role, doesn’t make much sense that they would watch their “creation”(humans) suffer by the hand of dragons without even lifting a finger, even if the dragons are more powerful than gods.
Hope they change something before we take down another dragon
@Lex they didn’t create the human race, they just brought them to tyria., but yes it is very disappointing.
Turn your volume up and listen to what your character says. On my Norn, I picked Bear as my patron animal, and during a fight I hear “I can FEEL BEAR’S POWER!” On my Human I picked Grenth as a patron God, and occasionally he’ll spout off something about Grenth’s blessing.

I noticed that my Engineer occasionally yells “Lyssa confound you!” when I use my “Prayer to Lyssa” skill. I always assumed it was a part of the skill, but I did choose Lyssa as my patron deity. And when I talk to NPCs, the Human often say “May Lyssa aid you!”
Incidentally, I find it hilarious that prayers are blocked by terrain, and Humans can’t pray underwater.
Mine usually mumbles something about Grenth when he’s low on health, but I don’t know if that’s because I chose Grenth, or just because I’m about to die.
No sympathy for the Devil, keep that in mind.
