Skye Eterna ~ Mesmer | Arya Slade ~ Charrdian | Kiera Thine ~ Ranger
Oceanic ~ [LOD] [Noob]
If so which do you use?
I’ve recently been trialling different skills for my 3rd utility slot and I’m now having a hard time parting with ‘Prayer to Lyssa’. This is the one that grants a random 5 or 10 second boon to yourself (dependant on which boon you get) and a random condition to your target, all of which is on a 12 second CD. As a Zerk Warrior with +30% boon duration things like Aegis become a 13 second boon, Protection/Retaliation/Vigor are now 6.5 seconds. The number of times getting a defensive boon or landing blind/immobilise/weakness on a foe at a crucial time are now countless. Especially since Warriors have that glorious Empowered trait (increases damage for every boon on you.)
Point being, this is a very under appreciated skill. But probably the only tsk I have with it is that it is not instant cast, it is a prayer, like a shout, and should be instant. Having to stop my ‘pain train’ just for a chance to get a worthy boon/condition when I could have OMM which is instant cast :/
On occasion I will use ‘Prayer to Lyssa’ if I’m in need of some condi damage, and very rarely I’ll use ‘Hounds of Balthazar’ apart from that I don’t really use any other of the Human racial skills. I would use ‘Prayer to Kormir’ more often but the recharge time of 45 seconds is huge! I find that if I try using it to diminish my conditions on myself that in a span of 30ish seconds I’ll have another five to work against.
I only use Prayer to Kormir on days when I have the Condition Remover task for my Daily. XD
I used to use Prayer to Lyssa and I did like the skill itself but I got so sick of hearing “May Lyssa confound you!” every few seconds through every single fight that I found myself playing with the sound off just to avoid it, then got rid of the skill instead.
I tried turning voice off for a while but kept forgetting to turn it back on for cut scenes in personal story quests (and that wasn’t really an option when a cut scene would start immediately after a fight).
Prayer to Dwayna all the time until I realized the other mesmer heals aren’t that bad anymore.
I used Prayer to Dwayna for a while, and then I just switched back to my regular elixir. I’ve never used Prayer to Lyssa or Prayer to Kormir, simply because I haven’t experimented with them yet.
On human skills in general, I use Hounds of Balthazar just because 1. they look awesome and are hilariously named “demon dogs” by my friend 2. they do decent damage for me (most of the time) and 3. they distract the aggro of mobs. Mostly #1 though.

That one is done within 5 minutes of WvW on an ele XD
OT: The only prayer I actually use from time to time are the hounds on a 1v1 if I play on my ele.

I’m sure it would. XD Reminds me of the time I was doing the Instigator farm run on Southsun. Throw up one Healing Rain on the culling mob, and BOOM! Condition Remover completed instantly.

With guardian You din’t really now when did You do this
I was using by some time “reaper of grenth” elite – only problem is that You need to stand in one place while casting
Do the Hounds count? I just started using them. I like them.
Sometimes i use Prayer to Lyssa so i have two random speedbuffs on my Memser xD
On my ranger, for every racial skill there is a ranger skill far better.
Take the healing:
Heal as One: 6520 HP for the Ranger AND his Pet
Prayer to Dwayne: 6520 HP for the Ranger only
Signet of Renewal: remove 1 condition every 10 seconds. Active: remove all conditions. Breaks stuns.
Prayer to Kormir: remove 3 conditions

I use Kormir on my thief in situations where I have to have a personal condition remover (mainly guild bounty bosses who give out lots of conditions). But that’s about it really.
