Human Female Afro Make It Happen!
On that note I was wondering if the devs could make more styles related to braids or dreadlocks. All my chars are black and sometimes I think the different hairstyles are limited. Yes I know you can go for straight hair for female but I try to avoid it.
Yeah…, I’m a little confused as to why My human can’t have Cornrows.. -looks to his braids irl- …yeah Imma need you to fix that arena net.

This has been an issue since beta, and it was brought up back then too. I only got into Guild Wars in the first place because of Nightfall. To not include a natural hair option is pretty racist by itself, but it makes it even worse that it’s human women who don’t have one.
It’s something I’d surely like to see. Unfortunately, the afro is viewed as a novelty, as you may have figured by the fact that nearly everyone with an afro also has a joke name alluding to the fact. It’s especially prominent with asura characters.
And can you blame them? In any game I’ve ever played with an afro, it’s made into a ridiculous ’70s dome, and instantly associated with that nonsense.
It doesn’t have to be a novelty, though. It can look great if it’s made to look natural instead of like a big fake wig begging to be dyed pink. It’s really not asking the world to want a single hairstyle that doesn’t cater specifically to caucasian or asian looking characters.

This is something I had hoped for with this update as well and was incredibly disappointed by.
There are a few female Nightfall braided hairstyles that could be used:

Or at least if not loose natural hair just tightly coiled and braided. As been said it’s been an issue for so long now, day one really, and was a big part of this game for so many of us who enjoyed Nightfall.
What’s really jarring is the Sylvari dreadlock style would be perfect if just changed to braids, so it’s possible to render these hairstyles and do so beautifully. I’ve never seen locs rendered so carefully and lovingly in a game, and if it can be done for plant people, I really hope it can be done for humans.
I want to throw my money at Anet, but I still don’t have an option that fits natural hair for human females.
+10000 to this. More PoC features in general please. I love to have my character look like me. And this pretty much never happens. =(
