So as the title says, where can I buy lvl 40 Guardian gear that is good looking?

With transmutation stones, you can find and use cheap gear beyond your current level.

While “good looking” is relative, I can recommend

From crafted skins: Reinforced Scale, Banded armor, Splint armor

From loot: Banded armor.

And sets from karma traders around the world: Heavy Plate, Dark Plate, Superior Duelist, Pit Fighter, Barbaric armor (which is also craftable IIRC, and pieces can be bought cheaply on TP)

You can go to The Mists through your PvP panel, there’s an armor locker there, where you can preview all skins on your toon.
