Necromancer: She’s been fascinated with the thought of death from a very young age. Where most see it as a scary taboo, she often embraces it. She often gets a thrill from near death experiences. Why? Because only when one is close to dying, does one truly know what it means to be alive.

Zen was an only child, born to poor folk. She often wandered alone, drifting further and further from her parents. Until the day she looked back, and they were no longer there.

Zen sought knowledge. She heard of tales of magicians and conjurers. Then she learned of an enigmatic people. Those who are masters of life, necromancers. This was Zen’s calling. She devoted every resource she had to learn. Basic reading and comprehension skills were a must. Then the skills of magic had to be learned. Zen came to a point where she realized that Grenth was her means to an end. That feast for her hunger. She worshipped, she prayed, she acquired.

Zen wanders the land, seeking new ways to play with her magic. Offering help to those who need it, and guidance to those who want it. She is also a jeweler and an artificer.

Zen does not have any immediate affiliations with any groups. She usually wanders alone.

Sadly, Zen does not have a family. She knows nothing of their whereabouts or even if they are still living. She found a stray dog once and they were companions for 5 months. With food being scarce and no real place to live, the dog died. She tried to use what powers she had at the time to bring to dog back, but learned the hard way that even if the body reanimates, the soul prefers to remain free. The dog was a mere husk which disintegrated and this caused extreme grief for days.

Personality wise, Zen is intact, mostly. Usually she is nice and caring. But due to the stress and trauma her earlier years brought on her, she can suffer from short periods of bloodlust, anger, and sadness. The many times she has been near death and defeated in battle have taken a toll on her too in an unexpected way. The adrenaline she experiences in a fight is exhilarating. She goes from nice and innocent to downright vicious and bloodthirsty. It’s not uncommon to see Zen covered in blood after a fight.

I would say Zen is a fun ride to be with, calm one second and vampiric the next. It may be weird, scary, or creepy. Or you may understand entirely her view on the world. She’s a necromancer for a reason, she loves life, and embraces death. Death has no meaning without life, and without death, we wouldn’t know what it feels like to be alive.

After many years of hiding away from the spotlight, she decided to embrace her talents in to her combat style in an attempt to make a name for herself. She has since grown to be a ruthless, focused front-line warrior with no fear. Rather than remain hidden in shadows, she uses the shadow to engulf and overwhelm her enemies.

Screenshot will be provided, but essentially, you’ll immediately recognise her from the tattoo on her face and her long, vibrant hair.

History

Youth

She never knew her parents, fending for herself along with her sister who died in a centaur raid while they were settling down in Queensdale. Ever since they were both abandoned, they wandered all of Divinity’s Reach to scavenge all that they could, and struggled across Kryta in search of proper settlement as the city clearly was not welcoming to them. The hostility and ruthlessness that she had faced since her childhood are deeply ingrained in her personality today.

Early Life

Alone and poor, she made a living from theft, scavenging and wilderness survival. After stealing a sword and dagger from a Seraph outpost to help defend herself from wildlife, she grew greatly accustomed to wielding them, as well as a shortbow to hunt. While hiding out in Claypool, she witnessed a man utilising Shadow Arts against wooden targets, and became fascinated with how she could incorporate magic like that in to her dangerous living standard. She travelled back to Divinity’s Reach and “borrowed” some literature on the subject, and discovered that she had a natural affinity for it. That’s where she began to develop her true prowess.

Current Status

She lives nowhere, and is everywhere. She continues her wild lifestyle even after amassing a small fortune from exploring the world in the wake of the dragons. She simply cannot settle down at this point, and wants to remain on the edge. She is quite happy to coast through life as a lone wolf, a survivor. She makes goals as they come to her, and has no long-term ambitions. She lives in the moment.

She received many invitations from both small and large guilds, but she didn’t appreciate the thought of being tied down. However, when Eden invited her to join, they promised a lax relationship. Being as resourceful as she is, she decided to take the offer up for the benefits that it would bring. If a journey promises rewards, she will not hesitate to tag along, though with not much visible enthusiasm.

Personality

Temperament

It’s always difficult to tell with Kaila. She rarely speaks, and only when it’s important. It might seem like it’s because she’s shy, but she actually has no concept of small talk and has no interest in most people. She is very one-track minded and will often approach battle without a word, and then leave without a word. She always has a passive expression of aloofness and disinterest, a template she has developed over time. Her sense of humour is quite dark and morbid – but rather than laugh at such humour, she merely blows air out of her nose or gives a faint smirk.

Quirks

She is unique in that she does not see shadow as a hiding spot or an escape plan or a one-time trick to finish a fight, but as a front-line battle tool. Her face decoration and long, flowing red hair make her stand out in a crowd.

Ash loves the elements. When a storm would roll around he was sit outside and watch the rain and lighting come down over Divinity’s Reach. Fire was his biggest fascination, as a kid he would set fires just to study them. That often got him in trouble.

Screen shot provided: Ash stands at 5’6, making him the shortest out of his two sisters.

History

Early Life:

Ashwrin was boring into nobility, living in the highest level of Divinity’s Reach made Ash’s life a little easier. His father a baron and his mother a commoner. He has three sisters. Due to his half blood (As the other kids called him) He was made fun of a lot.

With his affinity with the elements, Ash decided to learn more about them. He spent countless hours in the family library reading about fire, water, air, and earth. He learned that he can channel these elements into energy and use them as a weapon.

Current Life:

Ashwrin always seems to be alone when he travels Tryia. He has made many friends, but no one seems to sick around, except for a warrior Charr that he met at a young age. They cause trouble at Caudecus’s Manor or fighting off angry ghosts at Ascalonan Catacombs.

He’s often seen wandering Orr alone, mostly looking for omnomberries and things to burn.

He now lives in a small apartment in Lion’s Arch where he takes small jobs, kind of like a mercenary.

Ash was wandering around Queensdale when he saw a recruiter for a guild called Shattered Darkness. He thought it was time to get with a guild since he wasn’t getting very far on his own. A casual guild like this was something he was happy to be apart of. They community welcomed him with open arms. After that, he’s been invited to a number of other guilds, but turned them down.

Friends and family:
His family is still alive, living up in Divinity’s Reach. He visits them whenever he gets back from a long adventure. He has lots of friends, but he doesn’t talk to them a lot. His two best friends are a Charr named Prymal and an Asura named Kanasi.

Personality

Temperament:
Ashwrin has always had a good attitude about things. When he got into battle that was a different story, he gets aggressive and took his enemy down quickly. When talking with guild mates, he’s really outgoing and funny. When something doesn’t go right, he just shrugs it off and does something else. He doesn’t get mad easily, unless you’re a dragon or a horde of risen.

Quirks:
Ash has bad depth perception. When he enters the Mist’s Battlegrounds he’s often falling off cliffs because he isn’t sure how far the fall is. Lucky for him he has Prymal to revive him when he doesn’t make the fall.

Edit: The screen I provided is before I got full exotics for him, this was when I barely hit 80.

Xamhood loves nature. as a young child he spent most of his time climbing trees and hiding in bushes. He was fascinated with wildlife and archery throughout his youth. He is well known in Divinties Reach for his superb aim. He seeks to explore the world and gain knowledge.

Appearance: Hood is roughly 5’5 and has a dark midnight hair color that hangs longer over his scarred eye. across his right eye he has a scar from his pet stalker.

History:
Hood was born James Hoodwen. James grew up alone with his sister on the streets. In his spare time he would sit in trees and watch seraph archers practice. it was there that he became fascinated with archery. However when he was only 9 his world changed. He had now lost his only family and was on his own. To coup James found a young wounded stalker. He raised it up to health and it became one of his closest companions. However when he was eleven he accidentally made his pet mad. As a result the scar on his face shows that he learnt that lesson. After his sisters passing he devoted himself more to his bow skills. he made his first bow and at the cover of night he would practice.. At age 16 he decided he was in need of sword training so he nabbed a sword at started his work. After he felt confident enough to handle himself outside the city he made for the gates.
currently Hood is exploring The reaches of the world and finding new pets. although his stalker is still at his side it is in no shape to fight anymore so instead he enlists the aid of a wolf and Owl.
Groups: Hood is a part of a small 7 man squad known as the Xam’s. The Xam’s are comprised of a member of each profession and still are currently still searching to fill one more spot. their leader is a wise asura. The leader gets the title of SilvSonic and each of the others have shed their given names and instead chose new names with the prefix Xam. This is why Hood no longer goes by his given name. In fact he met one of the Xams before he set out on his journey and immediately sought them out before leaving for the last time. And as a result he took the name Xamhood.
the Xam’s themselves are also part of a guild in which they each hold the same rank. they spend most of their time taking turns representing the guild.

Personality: Hood is very calm and focused at all times. his thinking speed is much faster then any other Xam. Rarely does he get angry or temperamental.

Fun Fact: Hood states that his dominant eye is indeed his scarred eye. He also says he sees better out of that eye after it was struck.

Cowrex is an Elementalist whose aim is to save the world from danger and help the ones in need. He is a very serious guy when it comes to matters of saving a life, hard choices and the like although he gets perverted on light situations…………and the girls hate him for that. One thing to take note of Cowrex is that “Cowrex” is not his real name, and he just got that from reading books of the durmand priory.

Cowrex is basically a short guy with only linings that make him look like he has abs when he really has none. He may be small but he’s actually quick, fast and deadly with magic.

HISTORY:

Youth
Cowrex had a very beautiful and wealthy (Yes, he is a rich person) life with his Canthan mother and Krytan Father and he only had 2 siblings named Jared and Bethany. His life was really going well until the night bandits came into his home in Queensdale and killed his 2 siblings, his mother and father. His mother’s dying words were: “Be good, don’t change and always remember, we’ll be there for you”. Cowrex was traumatized by this event and decided to hide his real name for unknown purposes. Afterwards, he left for Divinity’s Reach and stayed there for his entire youth.

Early Life
By the time Cowrex grew older and became and adult, he left Divinity’s Reach to help the village called Shaemoor from the centaurs (The beginning of his story in GW2). The only motivation he had in doing so was to save families from being broken just like how his’ did.

Current Status
Cowrex is currently the commander of the armed forces of the Pact and the current guild master of the [BB] guild. His current job involves artificing and tailoring. He currently lives at his home estate in Divinity’s Reach. In that estate, lives a few people who are held dear by Cowrex(Such as his maids, butler and guards).

In his journey, he made plenty of friends, drank with them, fought with them, laughed with them and also, lost them. Each time he lost a friend in the bloody war of the Elder Dragons, he swore that he would avenge them.

PERSONALITY:

Temperament
Cowrex is a very serious and dark person when it comes to situations involving life, death, destruction, peace, family, friends, vengeance and the like. In addition, Cowrex has a very vengeful side. While he may seem as a dark and cold person, he actually has a bright, optimistic, and cheerful personality that kept him going in his journey. Also, he isn’t shy, but instead, he is extremely perverted and the women kept hitting him.

Quirks
Cowrex is unique in a way that he is extremely perverted but he becomes serious when it comes to serious situations. Also, Cowrex doesn’t really let friends go easily, as he would do anything to save them, even if it means his life.

Stories and Art Involving This Character
No one knows as to where he got his name “Cowrex” from. They only think that the name is circus-ish and not very intimidating but Cowrex really knows what it means. Also, no one knows what his full name is, even his last name as he buried the rest of his family’s memories with him (Everyone forgot his real name, even the last, since it’s been about 13-15 years since his family’s death) and there is a 0% he will show his real name anytime soon.

Profession:
An elementalist per se, she has a 9-to-9 job as a medical practitioner of a prestigious guild. She often plays with the thought of quitting her current job to become an adventurer. Yes, she should have enrolled the Priory in the first place. The decision on the Order was, well, impulsive. She didn’t really advance her rank in the Order after all. Still, Iris never becomes an adventurer. Her guild needs her, and that is pretty much the reason of her life and her existence.

Appearance
A tall girl with pleasant features. Her hair is soft and black. Her eyes are round and lively. Her smile is comforting as she is a gentle person at heart. Once a noble, Iris used to wear exquisite gowns wit long train and intricate gems and details. Since she took her job, she pretty much transform her image with a plain cotton shirt, a belted pants and neatly tied work boots. Her noble childhood friends probably won’t recognize her but well, Iris wouldn’t be bothered. She still keeps her lovely gowns for special occasions, especially when she is invited to tea by the Queen.

History
Iris inherits a noble last name from her adoptive parents. They passed away not long before she became of age. She missed them dearly but was always weary of her true parentage. Later on, she discovered that her true parents were spies for the Queen, who eventually met their demise without any helps. Even though, Iris decided not to blame anyone for the incident, she still felt bitter towards her parents’ blind loyal to the Queen. She took the chance to leave Divinity Reach by joining the Order, on a spur of thought that the Order could bring her closer to her parents’ murderers. However, the Order’s objective was something bigger; they were after the Dragons. Disapproving the way The Pact fought the Dragons, especially after the loss of her precious mentor Tybalt, Iris lost interest and joined the Mist war. Here she found the place she truly belongs.

Family and Friends
Iris met her fiance when she joined the Mist War. They also ended up in a same guild afterward. Their bond stays strong through the turbulent time of peace and war. However, sometimes, Iris wishes that her fiance wouldn’t nag her so much about her busy job. After all, she is the one who patches him up after every single fight.

Quirks
People may notice that Iris is very attentive and tolerant. She always has her orange tabby cat named Will around and keeps his treat in her quaggan backpack. In fact, Will makes her calm and dissipates her annoyance.

Race: Canthan (pure blood).

Profession:

She is an Elementalist, a darn good one too! Her skills with daggers are unparalleled, or so she says. She dances around her foes gracefully in and out of close range leaving the foe bewildered and unable to act, and then death comes to them engulfed in flames, buried in the ground, frozen in ice, drowned, or fried with electricity. Her goals in life are to protect her family at all costs and destroy the bandit and white mantle scum threatening her queen and kingdom. Also she wants to incinerators. A girl can dream can’t they?

Appearance

Yumiko looks very young for her age of a mature woman of 40. Her family is blessed with longer than normal youthfulness, so her face looks more like a 20-25 year old as well as her body despite being a mother of twins. She looks very Canthan, due to her pure blood, and has curvacious yet fit build and is about 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 7 inches (best guess from Character Creation). Her most striking features are her youthful face as well her very well defined bust, which many men (and women) take notice of right away. She has long deep red hair held in the back in a braid and let to drop to a neat point on her lower back. She is mostly seen in winged armor without the hood and dragonfly wings (mantle) on her.

History

Yumiko is based off a character in a book series I plan to finish sometime in the future once I do all my research and such. All my characters in most mmos are an alternate version of them in each respective game’s universe.

Youth

Yumiko was born in the Canthan district in Divinity’s Reach on Kainengtah 18, or Season of the Colosus 342 of the year AE 1285 to a pair of wealthy Canthan nobles that are members of the queen’s guard, the Shining Blade. Their names were Naoko Ishida and Toshiro Ishida. Her parents were caring and loving yet stern like any good parent would be. Yumiko was only 2 when they had another daughter they had an older brother of 4 years already with them. Her brother was named Kenichi and her sister Tomoko. They spent their time playing chilhood games and going to school to learn about the world its peoples and learn about their people’s past and culture along with krytan history. When they were old enough to speak and able to understand more complex things (around 8-12 years of age), they started to begin training into the professions, Yumiko an Elementalist, her sister and brother, engineers.

Early Life

Yumiko was always into boys ad an occasional girl when she was at the Elementalist academy in Kessex Hills yet she never got too serious with them. She learned to summon her first elemental at age 12. When Yumiko was 16, she wanted to join the shining blade like her parents before her so she applied and took their aptitude tests and passed. There she met her first love. Hirohito Izushi. They soon married after two years madly in love, and Hiro took Yumi’s last name as she was the more prominent family. 2 years later at 20, she gave birth to the twins Hikari and Hikaru and was never more happy in her life. Her father died 3 years earlier of heart trouble and her mother became senile and had to be put in a home for the elderly. Yumiko being the only married member of the house hold was the one to handle all affairs. This got Her brother jealous and he turned cold and evil over it.this would spell disastrous to Yumiko in her later years.

Current Status

Yumiko is now a widow as her brother plotted to to kill her whole remaining family in his own greed and jealousy for her becoming the sole heir. He only managed to rid of the men in her family and only Yumi and her sister and daughter remain. Yumi lives in Salma district in the manor hill area as the great collapse happened and her old home was lost to the grand pit that formed. Yumiko is an adventurer at heart, but she works for the Vigil as their highest rank underneath Almorra Soulkeeper’s leadership. Yumiko’s time is mostly spent taking care of her 20 year old daughter and keeping her household in line when not out defeating evil. Yumiko wants to just keep her family safe and meet a new man in her life so she can rebuild her family name. Did I mention she wants dual legendary incinerators?

Guilds and Groups

Yumiko is a friend of The House of Lady Dulcia Poma (Friends of Synsuous [Syn]) and her friends and adopted sisters. This is one of her two main guilds. The other group she belongs to is Carnished Toast [CT], a large adventurer guild that serves no role play significance and only serves as a PVX guild for missions and dungeons and WvW. She feels equally at home in both but loves everyone in [Syn] personally more so. Yumiko likes the people she is with and will stay with them until she needs to move on or pass on to the mists herself.

Family and Friends

Yumiko has her remaining sibling Tomoko and her daughter Hikari as immediate family. Yumiko is currently dating a man that is a farmer, but has noble intentions and values at heart and loves her and her daughter. Yumiko has many female friends in the House of Poma as well. These people make her fell loved and keep her sane when she is feeling down or distressed. They are her comfort zone for tough times in this dark era. She is well known to Logan, Countess Anise and Queen Jennah, mostly because of her ties to the Shining Blade.

Personality

Temperament

Yumiko has a very kind and loving yet bubbly personality. She has a sense of humor but isn’t prone to making jokes as she is a noble and needs to be respectful to others. She is fearless in battle, but will worry to no end if her child or sister are hurt when they are in battle with her. She is a pessimist and expects the worst to happen as she dwells on her past.

Quirks

She tends to put her foot in her mouth often and doesn’t watch what she says so it seems she only cares about herself, when in fact, she cares about others around her, but actually, she is too preoccupied with keeping her own family together and safe to show as much caring to others at the same time. So if she says something strange or odd or offensive but doesn’t mean to say it, its just how she is.

She is very conscious about her manners and what not, so she watches how much she drinks and makes sure she excuses herself properly from a party or meeting if the need arises (need of relief, or family emergency, etc.) she uses Canthan styled manners, in leaving and greeting (bowing, addressing you by last name (or sir, miss) if she is not overly friendly yet, etc.).

Yumiko is also bisexual, so she may find your female character highly attractive, but she will keep her cool and just compliment her much to her own embarrassment with a slight show of affection (usually a bright blush and a cute smile). She will not dare to hit on anyone unless the feeling is mutual.

Overview:
Using unorthodox fighting techniques rumored to be derived from the old assassins of the now Isolationist Empire of Cantha, SHINOBI is the go-to-guy whenever his group needs something dead quickly, cleanly, and with no witnesses. Though proficient in all Tyrian Pact weapon types, he prefers using a Dagger/Pistol CQC combination and a Shortbow for his secondary. Despite his specialty, he is also a front-line fighter, and is able to use his fighting style actively in the heat of battle, utilizing a combination of blade/gun tactics, stealth, and incredible speed via a technique called “shadowstepping”.

Appearance:
A short, slim, human rumored to be of Canthan descent, his armor choice conceals his whole body, and very much resembles ancient assassins from Cantha called “Ninja”. Few Tyrians have been able to see what is under his facemask, but he has been rumored to have short white hair and a handsome face with “sad” eyes.

History

Youth:
He says he grew up in the slums of Divinity’s Reach, but rumors say he actually had been brought up in Cantha as an orphan-turned-child soldier/assassin before his “escape” to Tyria.

Early life:
After his escape, he worked for an organized Tyrian crime syndicate as a “messenger”, until an “altercation” with the Order of Whispers, where his displayed skills led to his induction into the Order.

Current Status:
As of now, he can be seen operating in several areas within Tyria as a member of a private security company called PSC, working odd jobs ranging from bodyguard duty, to information gathering.

Guilds and Groups:
Though on the outside, the private security company known as PSC – which jokingly stands for “Probably Something Corny” by its members, seems like a regular “guard for hire” type guild, it is actually a cover for a covert joint strike team created by the Durmond Priory, Vigil, and Order of Whispers. The acronym actually stands for “Phantom Strike Coalition” and consists of several talented individuals of different races and affiliations, tasked by the Pact to conduct “Wet Work” operations, allowing the Pact to continue on with their “clean” image. Currently he is in a sub-group “Ghost Unit” within the guild that specialize in stealth and information warfare.

Family and Friends:
Since he was rumored to have been an orphan from Cantha, he has no known blood family. Some say though, that a Raven “pet” regularly visits him at inconsistent times during dusk, rumored to be his only “tie” with the Canthan Empire, perhaps even, their intelligence group. However, he has many good friends within PSC, and the Order of Whispers.

Personality and Temperament:
Despite having an extreme proficiency in the art of killing, Shin has a very lazy, laid-back and down-to-earth personality, often being the resident “joker” of the guild, with his sense of humor often becoming borderline perverted at awkward times. Even in the face of danger, his attitude remains indifferent, perhaps another tactic to throw off his enemies through intimidation and into underestimating him. In addition, his information-gathering abilities also allow him to indirectly “blackmail” people, and they are usually more than happy to provide him with what he wants, which is often more information, or access to an area that he normally wouldn’t have.

Quirks:
He has a sense of humor that sometimes ends up having an awkwardly perverted tone if he keeps going with it. Thankfully, his friends are often aware of this and usually stops him before he makes it too awkward. He also bows a lot. Perhaps its a trait he acquired supposedly being brought up in the Canthan Empire. Aaand he’s also a boob guy.

Profession:
Christof, named Tofu by his friends, is a duelist master, the Mesmer. He was always interested in technology and engineering, but much preferred to perform magic tricks on people to have fun. While a kid, he had to help his friends fight off bullies that were bigger and stronger than they were, and thus became very good with tricks using his intelligence to fend them off, and has picked up some skill using a sword to defend those that he cares about
Appearance
Tofu is an average height man who is more on the skinny side. He has curly deep, deep brown hair with cutting golden-brown eyes. He always wears his childhood quagaan backpack with his glowing greatsword that he stole from his first kill, a giant that his norn acquaintances refer to as a jotun. He believes that the sword is a good luck charm, and keeps it on him all the time.
History
Tofu is neither poor, nor is he rich. He grew up among common wealth, he knew his parents, and his other family. He grew up happy and content mostly. He was born around Lion’s Arch, as his father was part of the Lionsguard. His mother was just a commoner, and they met when his father saved her life. After Tofu and his sisters got old enough to travel, they moved to Divinity’s Reach to be with his mother’s family, and that is where he grew up.
Being a commoner, Tofu had to help out on farms and keep bandits out of the crops and away from the livestock around divinitys reach.
Current Status
Tofu now holds a house in the frozen wasteland inside Shiverpeak Mountains, a house of isolation to practice his magic. He fears that he will harm others by practicing it with them, but is regularly called upon by his friends to help them on adventures, and to accompany them for fun.
Guilds and Groups
After moving to Dragonbrand as an adult, Tofu joined the guild Elephant Ambush [EA] and has become an officer as the guild continued to grow.
Family and Friends
Tofu has two very close friends that he will help out when called to ask. A ranged, Vaden Darkstar, his childhood friend who grew up under worse circumstances, and a warrior, Aragon Dragonslayer, whom he met while adventuring after Vaden invited him to help them slay the dragon’s champion, The Shatterer.

Temperament
Tofu is a really laid back, generally happy individual, who cares too much about other people, and because of that chooses to isolate himself instead of worry himself too much.

Carth is a Guardian, first and forever. Either he’s in the field killing the enemy while trying to heal a wounded friend or behind the lines shouting chants to strengthen the line.

Appearance
Tall, short dark hair, blue eyes, and a powerful voice. His armor honors the Lionguard mostly in appearance due to his sister’s initial love for them. He is nearly the spitting image of the original progenitor of the Blair family line.

History

Youth
His childhood was similar to many children in the Shiverpeaks area. He hunted alongside his sister and father while mother struck deals with nearby Humans and Norn. The Blair family line established itself in the area centuries ago after the Great Destroyer was stopped. The first Carth Blair settled near the Norn and was friendly with many of them, retiring as a pseudo-diplomat/merchant for the newly established queen.

Early Life
Carth’s first big shakeup in life came when his father died in a rockslide protecting families evacuating the area. His shields could only hold for so long before he died. Mother and sister traveled with Carth to Shaemoor where his mother became ill and he tended to her.
His sister earned money working at a nearby tavern, becoming fast friends with Petra and Andrew. Her dream of signing up with the Lionguard was put on hold due to lack of recruitment and she turned her attention to the Seraph after that.

His mother’s illness got worse later on and her last words on her deathbed to him were, “My little Guardian. You always put people ahead of yourself, Gods bless you.” After his mother’s death and his sister’s supposed death to the Centaurs Carth threw himself into a rage after the herds.
Taking his father’s sword and training with a woman who retired from the Seraph, Carth ran straight into the Centaur herd promising revenge with every drop of blood shed.

Current Status
Recovering Deborah, his sister, was the best day in his life. He now works with many of the advanced races though has some concerns over the Sylvari. At first he saw them as lackeys of the old dead Centaur Ventari until he met with Grayson Sunrider (my Sylvari alt). After hearing the stories of Ronan and Ventari he now sees them as impressionable children. Carth does agree with the idea that all the races need to get together against the Dragons.

Guilds and Groups
There are no guilds in Carth Blair’s life and he’s fine with it. During his studies he came to the conclusion that guilds were the main problem within the Guild Wars of old. No one king or queen held power over all humanity. Now that Queen Jenna rules most of the humans, he doesn’t see a need for further fragmentation. He will still assist them from time to time, but offers of joining are met with his polite silence on the issue.

Family and Friends
Deborah still lives, which calmed his hatred of the Centaurs now. He still doesn’t like them, but he no longer flies into rage at the sight of them. Hostile herds will be put down quickly by him though since they conflict with his Sylvari friend’s teachings.

Grayson became a good friend in the short time they adventured together. Apparently even the peaceful Sylvari have nightmares to fight and Grayson left because it was an internal issue to deal with: preferably no humans at the moment.

Warmaster Forgal Kernsson was almost a second father to him. They bled together in battle and connected due to Carth’s familiar upbringing near the Norn territories. His death caused a void of rage in Carth much like his sister’s ‘death’. He has the experience to control it now, taking down Risen as a ‘kindness’ to the poor undead that are plagued with this condition.

Personality

Temperament
In battle he is a mix between fire and ice. Sheer hatred for the enemy, but a cold calculating mind factors in where the battle lines are faltering as he reinforces it. He never hesitates to bring aid to a falling soldier. Out of battle he’s quiet and polite, willing to supply food and drink to even the lowest ranking soldier or simplest traveler. He prefers to listen to stories than tell them. He also becomes enamored to redheaded women who try to get more drinks from him whenever they discover this.

Quirks
His Lionguard inspired style armor will always be preferred compared to the stronger types out there.
Though he and his sister never joined, they do get appreciated nods from soldiers from time to time due to the acts of heroism.

Profession: Basil is a ranger trained by a Sylvari, who had adopted him after befriending him. His fern hound, Witherfang, was left behind, when his guardian left on a mysterious journey.

Appearance
Basil stands at about 5’ 11" with a slim build with strong arms, built for drawing bows. He is easily identified by his violet eyes.

History

Youth
Basil was left at Queen’s Heart Orphanage by his parents at a very young age. He grew up with no memory of them, like most of the other children there, and as such tried to make the best of it. He really was really just a plain child, until the age of 15, when he met a Sylvari passing through Divinity’s Reach. This sylvari and he became close friends, of sorts. He learned many things about the Sylvari through her, so he understood the meaning of her taking on a surname, so that she could adopt him.

This sylvari woman then taught Basil the ways of the ranger and to appreciate nature. She was known for her green thumb, as most Sylvari were. Her gardening skills were also taught to Basil.

Early Life
Around the age of 18, Basil was hired by the Ridley family to tend to their garden. It was good pay and Basil got to know owner of the house, Carlotta. As a member of the Durmand Priory, she knew a great deal of her family history. Her great-great-great grandfather, Ein Ridley, was an elementalist from Ascalon and was among the refugees who fled to Kryta with Prince Rurik. He then started to travel the world.

At 19, the sylvari who had adopted him left without a trace. The only clue left behind was that it was “a calling.” Basil believed she finally understood her Wyld Hunt, something she often spoke to him about. She left beind her fern hound, Witherfang, to protect Basil. In retrospect, Basil feels like she knew he would leave home—that was what his training was for.

Current Status
After the defeat of Zhaitan, Basil was too shaken with grief to be effective in the battlefield. His superiors granted him leave, for the time being. His mentor, a norn Guardian named Ashald Svellfiskr, had perished in the final push on Arah. The two were incredibly close and not even a post-humous promotion to Warmaster could make him feel her death was worth something… even Ashald’s sister thought so. Basil took it upon himself to deliver the news to Ashald’s family and while her parents were proud of their daughter’s achievements, her sister Akna was angry with Basil. Ash had sent her letters daily and often boasted about her “incredible rookie partner.” How could he let her die?

They would not meet again, until several months later, on Southsun Cove. Akna had decided to become a traveler to honor her sister’s will for her to inherit her legend. Basil was still on leave, at the time. He helped defend Lion’s Arch from the Karka in both attacks. During the final battle against the Ancient Karka, he exhibited resourcefulness that reached the ears of Vigil superiors, which resulted in a promotion to Warmaster. Akna apologized to Basil, afterwards, for her treatment of him. Once again, they went their separate ways.

Currently, with the Molten Alliance of the Dredge and Flame Legion, Akna’s family had been displaced. Basil was called to the Shiverpeaks to help her family move to Hoelbrak. On their way back, they were attacked by Dredge and Flame Legion. They repelled their attackers and finished their trip, but now Basil and Akna were both curious. The two are now officially traveling together to find out what they can about this alliance…

Carlotta Ridley— A noble, mesmer, and Scholar of the Durmand Priory and former employer of Basil. When the Pact went to Orr, she was there as well. However, their paths never crossed. She maintained a professional relationship with Basil, in public, but behind closed doors, she often tried to be like an older sister to him and help, if she could.

Ashald Svellfiskr(Deceased)— When Basil joined the Vigil, Ashald was assigned to be his mentor. When he was promoted to Crusader, she requested him to be her partner. When they were together, they got the nicknames of Hammer and Nails, because whenever Basil’s arrows hit, Ash would bash it in with her warhammer, much like hammering in a nail. Rumor has it that there was a bit more to their friendship, but it was cut short, in Arah.

Akna Svellfiskr— Ashald’s younger sister, 23-24 years old. A leatherworker and hunter, who unlike her sister, is not the best fighter. She is very no-nonsense and her sister’s death has made her even more focused with the inheritance of that legend. After Basil saved her life, on Southsun Cove, she has softened up to him and gave him the respect her deserved.

Sylvari Wilding(Unnamed as of now)— A female Sylvari, who had adopted Basil five years ago. She was more of a close friend than a mother, but she enjoyed the companionship Basil granted her. She left to assumingly to pursue her Wyld Hunt.

Personality

Temperament

At the start of his adventures, Basil was a goofy sort of man, making jokes to keep himsel level-headed. Even in battle, he hides his fear with humor. He was somethng of a scoundrel at times, but this all changed in Orr. The constant fighting had hardened the young man into a fine soldier. After Ashald’s death, he became more sullen. Although he has exited his depression, the man he was before coming to Orr is gone. Occassionally, he will still crack a joke, but he is far more diplomatic.

Quirks

-Basil’s got sort of a phobia with going through Asura gates. Between the feeling one gets when passing through one and the fact nothing is behind them, but a long drop if you are in Lion’s Arch, has resulted in him doing something Ash dubbed the “Wilding Hop.” Basil essentially does this really silly looking hop through an Asura gate to help him deal with this.

Tatiana’s family was originally from Cantha in the Echovald Forest. A direct decedent of Danika zu Heltzer, her family left Cantha during Emperor Usoku’s xenophobic military conquest that destroyed her culture. The zu Heltzer’s are known to worship their patron goddess, Dwayna. At birth, Tatiana was blessed by the goddess with blue eyes. With her pet black moa, a living artifact from the Echovald Forest, Tatiana seeks to follow the guidance of her goddess, where ever the wind may take her, maintain Kurzick history and traditions, and eventually return to the homeland of her people.

Dressed in black and white, typical Kurzick colors. Tatiana wears tight fitted leathers, typical of assassins from Cantha.

History

Youth:
Tatiana’s parents recognized the goddess’s blessing on her from an early age and set her to hero training early on. Being Krytan nobility helped Tatiana acquire the best education available.

Early Life:
On her 10th birthday, Tatiana’s parents had her train in the Canthan martial arts; primarily in the art of assassination. Being born of Kurzick nobility, Tatiana’s parents wanted to make sure their heir would be able to protect herself and others of their Great House. By the age of 12, Tatiana had made her first kill. By 16, she had mastered the art of the silent kill from afar.

Current Status:
26 years old, Tatiana moves across Tyria, gathering information on Cantha, protecting her family, and removing threats to the remains of the Kurzick people. Tatiana’s family used to live in the Canthan Quarter in Divinity’s Reach before the sink hole, and eventual rebuilding into the Queen’s Pavilion. Her family has maintained households in the Krytan countryside; preferring the quiet lifestyle to practice their traditions and arts without the political eyes of the corrupt Krytan Ministers.

As the heir to the zu Heltzer house, Tatiana is trained both as a politician and assassin; both traits require a nimble mind, sharp wits, and killer’s instinct. Currently Tatiana trains herself in the art of assassination while her father maintains the house political ambitions within the Krytan Court.

Protecting her people, is Tatiana’s greatest aspiration… but recently there’s been words whispered on the winds… messages from the goddess that have been leading her away from Kryta and her people.

Affiliations

Guilds and Groups:
Tatiana, while traversing the world in search of the meanings behind the messages from Dwayna, resides within the Ardent Virtue Guild. Only the guild leader, a decedent of the Kurzicks as well, knows of Tatiana’s noble bloodline. She prefers to travel alone, but once in a while she’ll join to aid her friends in the search for information that can protect her family.

Both the Durmand Priory, and Order of Whispers have sought her out to gain her allegiance, but she’s refused for now as their goals would detract from the responsibility to the zu Heltzers.

Family and Friends:
Tatiana’s youngest sister joined the Seraph and went missing on a mission near centaur territory. Currently her goal is the safe return of her sibling, and the death of all those who were involved in her disappearance.

Tatiana’s assassin master is her only other closest friend. Known only to outsiders as, Shadow, he’s kept a close eye on his prized protege.

Personality

Temperament:
Tatiana is extremely charming. She is just as deadly with words, as she is with her bow… able to take a life without being seen. She’s no stranger to fear or death, but like all Canthan trained assassins, she knows that both are her closest companions and may take her one day.

Quirks
Tatiana has a tendency to be cold and sharp, traits she picked up out of necessity to protect herself and her family. She rarely manages to open up due to lack of trust; with good reason when the Ministry of Purity has sought out to remove every trace of her people from both the Canthan continent and Kryta.

If she ever manages to open up to someone and remove the assassin’s mask, Tatiana’s beauty is rumored to be second only to the goddess herself. She has a laugh soft as a breeze and a smile that is as intoxicating as a warm summer night.

Profession: Necromancer ~ After a tragic incident in her youth which resulted in the death of her one true love, Carmen became obsessed and disturbed. Dipping her curiosities and desperation in to the practice of Necromancy, she quickly became a prodigy among the community of the dark arts.

Appearance: At a stature of 6 foot 2 inches, Carmen stands tall over her friends and foes alike. Dark ebon skin and a perpetual gaze of apathy have given rise to rumor that she can spot the dead among the living. With a lush set of lips, naturally trim figure and a voice so poetic it nearly sings, Carmen has always been a wishful mind’s desire.

Youth and Early Life: Born an only child to a king and queen, Carmen was the crown jewel of an empire for 20 long years.
Always curious and getting herself in to trouble it wasn’t long before she met her first and only love at the young age of 5. Of course at this time she had no idea what her feelings were or why she felt them but from the day she met her hearts one true desire she and him became deeply connected. Unfortunately for the young couple her mother and father would never approve of a romance not of royal blood, for this boy was a commoner and merely a pest to the local palace.
Growing their love in secrecy for many years the couple would often sneak in to the courtyard to enjoy themselves, sometimes wandering as far as the slums to engage in forbidden sorceries. One night the two decided to celebrate their 20th birthday together in the pond beneath the courtyard bridge. Not realizing how loud they had been, Carmen’s father the king spotted the two making love in the waters below the palace. Infuriated by the sight of this he immediately ordered the boy’s execution. Heart broken and unable to stop her father who had locked her in her own bedroom she threw herself from her bedroom window sixteen stories above the ground. After seeing to the boy’s execution her father returned to her bedroom to find of her suicide. Desperate and in tears the king rushed down the many flights of stairs and to the grounds outside to recover his daughter. Performing a ritual which he had sworn an oath to never do many years ago, he resurrected his daughter from the dead. Frightened, confused and no longer her once sweet and curious self, Carmen immediately proceeded to murder her own father. Removing her shoe and bludgeoning him in the face with the heel, she spent 5 long minutes with her assault. Painted in blood and gleaming a chocolate shade of red in the courtyard’s moonlight she burst in to tears before laughing uncontrollably. Since that day she has not been herself, becoming a temptress of lust and death, killing innocent people and performing rituals in a desperate attempt to bring her one true love back to life.
It has been 70 years since the day her love was sentenced to death and she, sentenced to live. Now an immortal, losing her sanity over the years but still maintaining a beautiful exterior through her ageless shell, Carmen has become all that is death, disease and desire.

Current Status: Now living in solitude far from civilization, Carmen spends her days practicing and perfecting her gifted connection to Necromancy. Abducting those who travel alone and keeping them alive in her clutches while she uses their living flesh to perform dark rituals and summon grotesque abominations.
Some have escaped but many have succumb to the horrible manifestations within her twisted home of horrors. The ones that have managed to survive have told stories of unimaginable stature, some that have bred the foundation for what other Necromancers try and fail to obtain; unending youth.

Temperament: Once known as a pleasure to be around, now a force of fear and apathy, Carmen’s victims have told tale of her being both sweet and insufferable. Some have said they were initially drawn in to her home by her striking appearance and soft voice. Calling to them from far yet sounding near, she has been said to have an aura of trust and content despite being a total stranger. Unfortunately for those who have been in her presence long enough to enter her home, this aura quickly became a demon of despair.

Other: Rumor has it Carmen engages in a mating ritual with some of her less fortunate victims in which she impregnates herself, eats the flesh of said victim and later sacrifices her newborn child as an offering to Grenth. Despite her innocent exterior, Carmen is nothing but an illusion of beauty. She has long since lost a stable connection with reality and seeks only to reunite herself with her once true love by any means necessary.

Tatiana’s family was originally from Cantha in the Echovald Forest. A direct decedent of Danika zu Heltzer, her family left Cantha during Emperor Usoku’s xenophobic military conquest that destroyed her culture. The zu Heltzer’s are known to worship their patron goddess, Dwayna. At birth, Tatiana was blessed by the goddess with blue eyes. With her pet black moa, a living artifact from the Echovald Forest, Tatiana seeks to follow the guidance of her goddess, where ever the wind may take her, maintain Kurzick history and traditions, and eventually return to the homeland of her people.

Dressed in black and white, typical Kurzick colors. Tatiana wears tight fitted leathers, typical of assassins from Cantha.

History

Youth:
Tatiana’s parents recognized the goddess’s blessing on her from an early age and set her to hero training early on. Being Krytan nobility helped Tatiana acquire the best education available.

Early Life:
On her 10th birthday, Tatiana’s parents had her train in the Canthan martial arts; primarily in the art of assassination. Being born of Kurzick nobility, Tatiana’s parents wanted to make sure their heir would be able to protect herself and others of their Great House. By the age of 12, Tatiana had made her first kill. By 16, she had mastered the art of the silent kill from afar.

Current Status:
26 years old, Tatiana moves across Tyria, gathering information on Cantha, protecting her family, and removing threats to the remains of the Kurzick people. Tatiana’s family used to live in the Canthan Quarter in Divinity’s Reach before the sink hole, and eventual rebuilding into the Queen’s Pavilion. Her family has maintained households in the Krytan countryside; preferring the quiet lifestyle to practice their traditions and arts without the political eyes of the corrupt Krytan Ministers.

As the heir to the zu Heltzer house, Tatiana is trained both as a politician and assassin; both traits require a nimble mind, sharp wits, and killer’s instinct. Currently Tatiana trains herself in the art of assassination while her father maintains the house political ambitions within the Krytan Court.

Protecting her people, is Tatiana’s greatest aspiration… but recently there’s been words whispered on the winds… messages from the goddess that have been leading her away from Kryta and her people.

Affiliations

Guilds and Groups:
Tatiana, while traversing the world in search of the meanings behind the messages from Dwayna, resides within the Ardent Virtue Guild. Only the guild leader, a decedent of the Kurzicks as well, knows of Tatiana’s noble bloodline. She prefers to travel alone, but once in a while she’ll join to aid her friends in the search for information that can protect her family.

Both the Durmand Priory, and Order of Whispers have sought her out to gain her allegiance, but she’s refused for now as their goals would detract from the responsibility to the zu Heltzers.

Family and Friends:
Tatiana’s youngest sister joined the Seraph and went missing on a mission near centaur territory. Currently her goal is the safe return of her sibling, and the death of all those who were involved in her disappearance.

Tatiana’s assassin master is her only other closest friend. Known only to outsiders as, Shadow, he’s kept a close eye on his prized protege.

Personality

Temperament:
Tatiana is extremely charming. She is just as deadly with words, as she is with her bow… able to take a life without being seen. She’s no stranger to fear or death, but like all Canthan trained assassins, she knows that both are her closest companions and may take her one day.

Quirks
Tatiana has a tendency to be cold and sharp, traits she picked up out of necessity to protect herself and her family. She rarely manages to open up due to lack of trust; with good reason when the Ministry of Purity has sought out to remove every trace of her people from both the Canthan continent and Kryta.

If she ever manages to open up to someone and remove the assassin’s mask, Tatiana’s beauty is rumored to be second only to the goddess herself. She has a laugh soft as a breeze and a smile that is as intoxicating as a warm summer night.

Other:
Tatiana still searches for other Kurzicks hidden within Kyrtan society.

Name: “Daniel” AKA Dancing Joker

Excerpts from the diary of “Daniel”
I don’t remember my name, the one my mother and father gave me.
All I remember is a man with a shocking red mane, and a kind gentle woman with Canthan eyes.
Her voice would sing a beautiful hum, like a warm wind of words caressing me to sleep.
I wish I could remember what was sung rather than the melody, but that I’ll talk about later.

The name my teacher gave me was “Daniel”.
It was as good as any name so I went by it in my early years.
My teacher, The Old Man, was a tough yet powerful thief.
Somewhat bitter about politics, especially Canthan and Elona’s isolation, he rarely said anything personal.
In all my years under his tutelage I was given kind, personal, words only twice.
Once when I took up the mantle of the Dancing Joker, the other…I’ll talk about later.

I lived in the streets, working for The Old Man well into my teen years.
After falling in with a bad crowd, I decided to take a trip into the country.
That’s when the centaurs said “Hello” to Shaemoor and I said “Hi” back to their ugly snouts.
When the Elemental collapsed on me I barely could make out an image, one of the Priestess I think.
Did she sing that song too? As I lay there nearly dead? A man came by and asked if I was going to make it.

Were they mother and father? No, foolish me, apparently that was Thackery and a local Priestess healing me.
After taking down local thugs, upsetting some small rebellions, I eventually learned about the song and The Old Man.
White Mantle thugs came to kill me. I sent them to my patron God Grenth easily.
Clues added up, evidence started old memories I never thought I had.

Eventually I found an old abandoned home with two burial plots.
The headstones combined said simply
“Kya and Daniel: Ever loyal to the Queen. The Six gods teach us, the ancestors guide us.”
As I came back home to Divinity’s Reach to talk with The Old Man, then it hit me.
That song, I heard that song; but not from my past. Rather an old woman was singing it and teaching her grandchildren.
“It is a song of exodus,” she said to them, “of how the Dragon lost its way. It is of pain, of loss, but ultimately of hope. One day you or your children shall see our home shores. That is why we sing it.”

I collapsed in a nearby alleyway crying, yes I’ll admit to that in these personal papers.
I remembered it all, how she sung it, how my father always told me to stay quiet when strangers came by our home.
I remember the face of The Old Man as mother had him ‘babysit’ me.
I remember that she never returned.

Then he quietly stood over me in the alleyway. His harsh old face relaxed a bit, as if in sympathy.
He saw how I clutched the old family amulet in my hands, practically cutting my palms.
I was guided inside. He told me of stories, heroes and tragedies from long ago.
A man named Shiro, a Nightfall, and ultimately one saga of a Dancing Joker.

“The name is a mantle. Reserved for those who are loyal to Cantha’s people.
The Dragon is…misguided with xenophobia. Your family line was targeted, diplomats usually are.
I knew your mother and father, I knew of the previous Dancing Joker as well.
When I retired the name, I thought it was over forever.
Take the name. You have earned it now. Your mother and father would be proud.”

Those kind personal words were pretty much the last thing he spoke of to me.
He died a week later, apparently Grenth needed him more than I did.
So now as I sit here in this festering jungle that is Brisban, I await my next mission for the Order of Wispers.
I’ll serve, both the Order and the Queen (my her reign last long). One day I too will look upon my home shores.

Personel documents from Order of Whipsers
Operative known as Dancing Joker is reasonably bright, quick, and quiet.
Recommendation for field duty as soon as training is over with.
His current physical description:
Red hair
Blue eyes
Fairly slim build

Temperment is quiet, reserved even for Whispers standards.
He has recieved demerits for breaking into archive vaults in the past.
Apparently his thirst for Canthan knowledge overrides his good judgement at times.
He has no known living family at this time. His contacts with Logan Thackery are useful for access to the Queen.
His loyalty to her over the Order will limit his potential to advancement.
If she acts in a way that runs contrary to our interests, he will be a liability.

The recommendation to assign him to Agent Tybalt is approved, Gods know they both could use the time out in the field.
