So.. How tall is your human?
No human is going to look physically intimidating to any norn or charr. On the other hand every human is going to look physically intimidating to any asura. So I would say, picture the image of your human you want to make, based on what a human is. then go with that. You can’t always be the biggest in your group when actual giants are running around but you can be a giant of a human. or you can be tall but not the tallest. or average height, etc.
Hope thast helps
Yes, I have also noticed that most people give their characters max height. Pretty boring. Everyone wants to be the tallest I guess.
My first human character was supposed to be a “copy” of myself and I am 6ft3 (or just under), which is a solid tall height. I assumed that max height for human males was 6ft7 (or maybe I read it somewhere on the internet) and just ticked it down 4 ticks (1 inch for every tick). I was kinda surprised that many characters were still taller/bigger but I guess I am more of role-player then others and notice these kind of stuff.
What bothers me more though is that they have the same proportions no matter the height, which makes short characters look like scaled down tall characters. That could be another reason most people go for the taller characters. The proportion of the male humans fit a tall or a very tall guy. In reality shorter persons generally only have shorter legs and arms, but I guess it’s too demanding having short, average and tall proportioned human models when it comes to armor and stuff.
I was thinking of doing a short thief by making the head bigger and picking the “Arnold” body type. Still didn’t look good :S XD
I’d need to do another search, but as I started playing the game, I saw a height chart comparing the races. The humans, apparently, have a maximum height of 6 feet (which is also the minimum for the Norn). I’d like them to add some type of measurement system so that I can choose my height better.
Oh, I found it. It’s from guildwarsinsider. I was slightly off.

I remember making my human warrior max height, and then a norn female with min height… but she appears to be a tad taller than him still. Same goes for a sylvari male I saw yesterday and I was like ‘wtf, that sallad be taller than me?’… But then it seems that the most buff body-type gives you 1 or 2 inches extra… can anyone confirm this?
Here’s a superior height chart that actually uses in game models, anyway. Humans and Sylvari are very similar to one and other.
Even the shortest norns tend to be on par with the tallest of the other races. They only get bigger from there.

It’s weird that the human man and woman have the same max height but not the same min height.

I wonder if those numbers are true. They seem a little low with 6’4 as max height for humans…

It’s weird that the human man and woman have the same max height but not the same min height.
The human male and female at max height in that chart I posted are both also using the bulkiest body build. The max male and female are both the biggest and bulkiest.
They’re roughly the same size.
The shortest human male and female for size comparison are also using the slimmest body type available.
The shortest female can be both slimmer and slightly shorter then the shortest and slimmest male.
If you fiddled with the body types on the female to make her a little more robust, she’d be about on par with the slimmest shortest male.

Aha, thanks for info!

No problem. Don’t worry if you end up not liking max height/five inches down, you can change it later with a Total Makeover Kit.
