So, I wanna roleplay as a shining blade exemplar. But can only find heavy armor (and Anise’s Light armor but she is a countness so dont think I should use that). Anyone knows of medium/light armor NPC’s. Or have suggestions on which armor would fit?

Maybe take a look at the original Shining Blade appearance from GW1 and then compare to some GW2 armor gallery?

This picture may help a bit:

There are shining blade ghosts in Brisbane..

I’d aim for something similar to the outfits (at least in style for medium/light) to the other Shining blade, but use the same color scheme.

I don’t think Anise’s armour is available to PCs anyway. Feel free to use it as a base to aim for something similar, though.

I’d probably advise against using the GW1 Shining Blade as much of a base, since the GW2 Shining Blade is a very different organisation. It certainly has different colours – GW1 was mostly natural colours and whites, while GW2 is, obviously, blue and gold.

The rare crafted light armour now called Masquerade armour was initially labelled as ‘Shining Blade armour’ in the concept art, so if your character is in light armour (and you don’t mind wearing next to nothing above the waist if female) than that’s probably the go-to. If you don’t like that, I’d probably point to Aristocrat’s for a similar style that leaves female characters less scantily dressed. For a more martial look, Acolytes and Illustrious can work well as a starting point with some suitable substitutions. (Acolytes in particular has the advantage that the second dye channel can look like light armour pieces when dyed in metallic or leather colours)

If it’s medium armour you’re looking for, as you may have noticed the modern Shining Blade heavy armour is a mix of plate and scale – the Emblazoned and Falconer’s sets would probably work well as lighter versions of the same thing.

Alternatively, though, given the SB’s dual nature as bodyguard and spy organisation, it’s entirely likely that it only has a formal uniform for the overt martial (heavy) arm. Light and medium armour wearers are likely spies and scouts, wearing whatever’s suitable to blend in to a crowd or a forest.

To those who think Scarlet hate means she’s succeeded as a villain:
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.

Cultural medium T2 chest armor has a Shining Blade pin on the belt, I noticed it today, it got me soooooooo happy for some reason, I was always fascinated with the Shining Blade ever since Prophecies! I’d also like to rp a member of them, so if you’re on an EU server I’d be glad if you could send a whisper/mail so we can organize some rp stuff

checks It is too! Not exactly the same, but enough that you can tell what it is if you look closely enough.

So assuming that and the prerelease labeling of Masquerade as ‘Shining Blade’ armour has not been completely retconned, then that gives us :

Light: Masquerade (crafted rare)
Medium: Falconer’s (human t2 cultural)
Heavy: Banded (found rare) with Draconic (exotic crafted) chestpiece. (I guess Queen Jennah can afford orichalcum armour for the Shining Blade but only so much? :P)

Meanwhile, for anyone interested, rank-and-file Seraph use Reinforced Scale with Tempered Scale breastplate and Heavy Scale helm. Higher-ranking Seraph cycle through Council Guard (Caudecus Manor) to Protector (cultural 3) armours.

I’m currently looking to see if there are any indications of Seraph that are not in heavy armour anywhere. I’ll get back if I find any.

EDIT: Yeah, nothing – only example I found was Seraph Spy Ivy, and she’s explicitly in disguise. Probably wouldn’t go wrong with Caudecus’ Manor armour, though, or Prowler for medium.

It varies with officer Seraph. Some use full protectors (t3) while others use Protectors chest/legs and other boots/gloves/shoulders.
