5 gambits on a T3 boss.

then you won’t get the achievement. they said that all classes are capable (and they are) but they may have to change their builds.
Berserker gear is actually horrible for it imo. Condition damage gear (like rabid or carrion) is where it’s at, since I don’t think squeamish affects it (could be wrong though), and you get vitality or toughness with it. Conditions are great in these challenges since you won’t reach cap without other players, and enemies don’t cleanse conditions.

Oh I don’t mind changing my traits around. But having to go out and buy a whole new set of armor just to complete a single achievement is not something I intend to do.
I’ve never had to do it in the past, so why now?

I did it on my ranger versus deadeye with 20/20/0/0/30 just today. I didn’t take the extra competitor gambit so leave that one out.
I start with the pet stowed and camera zoomed in. Once I appear in the gauntlet, my snow leopard pops out and I pop Rampage as One and basically stand still for the duration of the fight. While doing those actions I am targeting deadeye.
I used warhorn first (call of wild) then I pounce with snow leopard. Then I swap weapons and pets to jag, pull with offhand axe, whirl, stealth jag, serpent’s strike roll, then burst down with sword.
Use companions might, pet prowess, and zephyrs speed grandmaster (30 in beast mastery). Use quickening zephyr when you do the sword burst at the end.
The chill from the snow leopard is crucial as well as all the quickness. Ranger has some of the best quickness uptime in the game. Sigil of rage might even be good here. Remember to use dragons buns and maintenance oil for power. I also took the Rata sum crit boost.
I hope that helps, Quark, I know you can do it. Indeed, I used zerker gear with Superior Rune of the Ranger (my dungeon load out) with fully ascended zerker trinkets. So, ya, I had that going for me. Nonetheless, you should be ok with exotics. If you only have rares, you might have to get lucky or change the approach.
But what I just explained should work for zerk.

The last time I tried a sword against deadeye, my serpent’s strike rolled me right into a mine. And I honestly don’t think I’ll have enough damage to do what you did, not without berserker gear anyway.

Aw, give it a shot anyways let me know how it works. This is why ANET needs instanced stats for pve. But that’s a whole other heretical topic.
Well you should have berserker gear anyway since it’s objectively the best gear for PvE.
And Exhausted/Frailty/Hamstrung/On Fire/Crowd Favorite is easy on Deadeye.

Crowd favorite is not easy on any boss. Combined with the frailty gambit, that quaggan is a nightmare.
Besides, I have to do frailty and squeamish at the same time to get that other achievement. Why not go for all 4 achievements in one fell swoop?
-BnooMaGoo.5690
does anyone know how much less damage you do with frailty and how much more dmg you take with squeamish?
Go spirit weapons on guardian with sword, hammer and shield plus hounds of balthazar if you are human, if not I guess mistfire wolf might work. Take all the gambits but earthquake and squeamish and go after subject seven. If you purely focus the boss the hammer will hit him away from the mini oozes to reduce healing, the sword and elite is extra damage and the shield protects you and does extra damage with it’s active every CD. You should be able to nuke him down before the weapons end.
About the quagan, it chases the weapons around and fails at killing them since it doesn’t seem like they have frailty and he doesn’t get stacks.
Look up on youtube, both guardian and warrior can easily farm t3 deadeye with 5 gambits. Hope this helps. Warrior zerker build can kill deadeye with 5 gambits in one go. (don’t get squeamish)
I’ve been trying for days to get this achievement done, and for me, it seems impossible.
My guardian can’t do it, and my ranger can’t do it.
And no, neither of them have berserker gear, nor do I wish to go out of my way to get a new armor set specifically for this achievement.
Hi OP,
I’ve just got the achievement on my mesmer with Subject 7. The reflect works wonder. So maybe you can go bunker and abuse reflect on your guardian. You still need decent DPS though. Rally off spawned oozes if you downed. Hope that helps.
Saying that you don’t have zeker gear doesn’t help at all, there’s still a big difference between knight, soldier and cleric.
I don’t know if it’s going to work with full defensive gear, but i suggest you:
0/30(Vulnerability on blind, sword damage, right hand strength)/30(Meditation heals you, Toughness to Precision and any other you want)/0/10(Consecration recharge faster and last longer).
Pick every gambit except squeamish.
Start with sword/focus (disable your autoattack). When the fight begins, tab target Deadeye (make sure that your camera is not looking downward when being summoned, or Deadeye will be out of it and tab target won’t work) and use sword 2 to TP to him.
Use sword 3, which is single target (won’t hit the quaggan) and block projectiles, followed by focus 4 and 5. Don’t autoattack, you don’t want to cleave the quaggan.
Right after 10 seconds, he’s going to TP. As soon as it does it, use your sword 2 (it should be recharged if you used it ASAP at the start of the fight) for reaching to him and blinding a very possible killshot.
Pop a wall of reflection just in front of him and start autoattacking (quaggan is not there and should reach to you from your back, not being cleaved in any case).
At this point his TPs are a bit random. If the wall wears off and he is still there, use sword 3 again (projectile block), followed by shelter and Shield of Avenger. If he doesn’t TP soon enough you should have him beaten.
If he TPs after wall of reflection fading off but before summoning Shield of Avenger, time your Renewed Focus (pop every unused virtue) in order to be inmune to a killshot while you slowly approach to him (you are crippled). Chain it with Shelter if you hadn’t used it before, and follow with Judges Intervention in order to TP to him. Cast Shield of Aveneger and finish him.
If he happens to TP after Shield of Aveneger being summoned, just do the same and melt everything you have in your arsenal (pop Justice for a blind, Courage for prot and aegis, use sword 3 again for another blind, swith to a second weapon set, that can be a mace/shield or a greatsword and pray to your gods :P).
I’ve done it yesterday after countless tries first of findign the right build and right weapon set together with other thigns that could help me getting this BS done.
I had to waste like over 10 Gold just only cause of having to buy Tickets (because grinding for new tickests takes ages if u need for every fail instantly 6 new tickets due to the stupid gambits costing extra tickets)
However, just getting the right euipment was sadly not enough, I had to buy 2 more exotic weapons just to experiment an other build that was based on ranged combat that was the key for me with dual pistols. all other builds before with D/D and Bow, or Sword never seemed to work like in one youtobe video, but i guess I just couldn’t get exatly the same build as in that video, even if my HP was exatly the same, used the same traits ect..
Thats when I began to think that Duneye is bugged and that he doesn’t warp in 10-20 seconds, but more randomly, because i was never able to down in before he teleports 1st time like in the videos.
So I thought.. what can I do to improve my overall situation and give me an advantage in that battle. (what leasded into wasting hours of time and wastign more money)
I’ve read then through the forums, what there are for tips from others and have read about some kind of Ogre Pet Whistle and Fire Elemental Powder that can be used in battles and summon creatures for 5 minutes to battle for you…
Never heard before that point about these items and so I thought … OH great, more DPS help so I instantly searched in the wiki,s where to get that bullkitten, wasted tiem then in iron marches findign that stupid npc ogre whio sells the whistles and then again in that lvl 70 ascalon map where the charr dungeon is to get the elemental powders ..
However, thats the Build I used:
Full Berserker on Traits:
30/30/0/0/10
0010 is important here, don’t take the 100 vit important, health won’t help you in this battle, you need RANGE, exactly for your Steal to reach Dunye once he teleports, because the untraited steal has not enough range to get you to him.
It also helps if you start the battle with a stolem item, best is the bottle, that makes you for 3 seconds invulnerable, because it also protects you against the kill shots, but this means for wasting time and battling against the bandits in the pavillion to get that first.
However, also other thigns can be helpful, like that green thing that damages over time and deals multiple randomous conditions with that you can get him for example burning or confusion thats helps you for DPS.
Dual Pistol Weapon Skills
Scorpion Wire
Haste
Assassins Signet
Thieves Guild
This together with activating the ogre Pet Whistsle and the Fire cElemental Power for more DPS…. alot of failed tries I had I used that trap, that generates a 3rd thief instead of the signet, but that dps alone didn#t seem to be enough, so I was lucky, that those summon items exist I i coudl swarp that utlity with the signet for the extra 180 strenght, what made I think the difference toghether with the summons.
However, the battle wasn’t easy and the end was a close one, because I got into downed state and had won only due to the help of the summons who brought duneye down so that I was able to kill him with my downed skills before he could land the deadly hit. after a few more tries .
As nourishment i used that lvl 80 soup, that gives you + 100 precision and + 10% critical damage.
With fullberserk you come easily then to over 100% crit damage and when your fury is active at crit chance rates of like 75%
That together with unload was the key to burst duneye down, because even untraited you are able to use unload like 3 times, before running out of initiative and that 3times quickly in a row = 24 hits within like a minute together with haste, what can bring him down to like 50% health, so that you +20% damage trait kicks in quickly.
Thats the way how I have done it after felt like 10-15 tries all together.
Now that ive 5 gambited duneye, I’m sure I’ll find my way as thief for strugar too

I DID IT! Finally! Thank you soooooo much for tip!
I did it with only rare zerker armor, green/ascended jewelry and Mystic Claymore
traits: 30/15/15/0/10 – (II, X, XI), (I), (VI), (V)
It was very close but if you spam your skills and aoe oozes you will get rally, I got rallied 3 times thanks to my spirit weapons and mistfire wolf – if you dont have wolf try using something else, like sylvari dog, or balthazar hounds
YOU DON’T HAVE TO KILL QUAGGAN just be careful not to damage him
here are screenshots of my stats and proof
Engi 5 gambit = Subject 7.
I have full Nightmare Runes and nades. 30/10/20/0/10.
Just throw down the Supplies, take Elixir Gun and Nades, and you can just heal and blast away.
*edit add food: Koi cake for +40% duration.
Quidquid Latine Dictum Sit, Altum Videtur
Everyone says, pick every gambit except squeamish, but I want to get all 4 gambit achievements done at once, which means I have to take frailty and squeamish at the same time.
I also don’t play any of the classes people are suggesting, except guardian.
Edit: If I summon a creature before entering the arena, will the summoned creature follow me in?

Just completed it along with triple threat in one go on my Thief.
With the right build, it really isn’t that hard.
I don’t know if Thief is really an option for you, but its very easy doing deadeye with it.
Take hamstrung, frailty, exhausted, on fire, and crowd favorite. 25/30/0/0/15 III, IX, I, III, XI, III. Util’s scorpion wire, ambush, and smoke screen. Thieves guild elite.
Pretty much what you do is at the start of the fight put down ambush and use thieves guild. Use scorpion wire to pull deadeye which won’t aggro the quaggan. After that just spam black powder and dps him down.

You are creating your own personal achievement well, good luck
I did it incredibly easy with engineer on Ooze (I farm it this way before nerf:-)).

Just pull Ooze on the side Use elite on it and spam bombs, prybar, blunderbuss and jumpshot till Ozze is down.
