The materials are old because the pavilion was constructed as part of Queen Jenna’s “Greener Tyria” initiative, which reclaims used objects in an effort to reduce our environmental impact, and saves taxpayer gold because have you seen the prices for some of the mats on the TP? If these materials happened to have been sourced from the Black Citadel it was an honest mistake, not theft, because after all the Black Citadel looks like a heap of garbage.

Haha good point, I’ll edit

Edit edit: So this is going to be really dorky but I decided to change it to “gold” because even though most citizens of Tyria are probably poor and thus can only afford to pay taxes in silvers (or even coppers in many instances), there are enough of us that the Tyrian government gets enough taxes to operate on the scale of gold currency.

Yikes! O.o It appears the crown hired some sub-par contractors who cut some serious corners. No doubt she went with the lowest bidder. How this thing got a certificate of occupancy is beyond me. I wholeheartedly feel the crown should hire a building inspector ASAP to do a property condition report on this place to check if there are any construction deficiencies and to make sure the the structural supports are sound.

i just said silvers because 1 silver is more akin to 1 dollar than 1 gold. only expensive stuff cross the “silver line”.

This makes us the terrible 1% ers, since we buy items at hundreds or even thousands of gold “because they look nice” or are “cool”.

I don’t think the trickle down effect is working here Anet!

I dunno about that. Have you heard the conversation between the skritt and human merchants in the Lion’s Arch trading post building? The Skritt wants 20 gold for a single centaur spearhead and the guy brings up that yesterday they were only 10. Either way, though, if NPCs are paying 10-20 gold for a single part to a weapon, I think the NPCs might be richer than the players :p

Now that explains why a gauntlet dome platform opens and drops players after 2 minutes. It can only hold that long.

That sums up two simple truths, where first is never hire a charr if you need superior metalworks(asura would surely do it better, hell even norn smith olaf olafssonssonsson would do it better) and second is that ministry is full of thugs who stole half of budget by hiring useless furballs in the first place. I blame ministry.
