DED Farmers: case study poll.
I like to chat and cheer and give tips or help with build/tactics on various professions even if it means I don’t farm often, but for the first time I really had a moral conflict.
One part of me was saying: well it’s ok, my turn then his. Other part started creeping up: “why doesn’t he wait 10 more seconds since I used time to revive him so I go at it again before him”
B sometimes, but C if option E isn’t available (other domes already being farmed/used by more than 1-2)
I have the dilemma too.
The WP run only take 1 silver 11 copper and 40 second.
The truth is I died like 50 times on liadri too, and everytime I died, I just WP even if people are healing me.
I dont’ understand the concept of wasting other people’s time so I can save time.
This morning, someone was complaining about me not rezing, so I message him if he care that much about those 40 second WP run, I care about those 1 minute waiting for him in queue too.
In the end, I felt bad, so I end up rezing him and another person everytime they die. But the truth is if the game is design better this won’t ever happen.
Why should people be punished for helping other people? I don’t get it about the game design.
C, and offer them 5 gold to go find another dome.
I always prep for my next fight before the end of theirs. I revive them when they die and Queue up for my fight. If in the case of death, I typically expect to have them show the same courtesy. If not, well, I’m a bit more hesitant to revive them again.
I don’t mind taking turns or waiting a bit. Regardless if its a farmer or not.
I’d probably alternate between A and B, until I got bored and went for E to join some more people doing quick farms. Having done Liandri myself, I know it helped to have someone to rez you so you could try again without having to run all the way back, and frankly, waiting an extra 20 for someone to kill deadeye quick is still quicker (and cheaper) than waypointing and running all the way back.
I don’t mind sharing an arena with people, as long as they seem reasonable themselves.
That said, I did have one instance where I joined an arena with one person DED farming in it. So I joined for the same thing. After I went in once, the guy decides to then try and kill his target extremely slowly, blind tanking without doing any damage.
Alright. I go in again, and he tells me I’d better leave “his” arena or every fight of his is going to be like that. After that, he swapped to running in circles with Halmi for the whole 3 mins before logging out/in so he didn’t fall down. Or if he died, he had a second account logged in to rez him. So I’d take my 20-30 seconds and make a bit of coin, he’d take his 3 minutes to try and get me to leave.
Long story short, I spent a good 20 minutes there (until my guild did our bounty), doing my turn, then chatting with my guild during his turns, specifically because he was an kitten .
Morale of the story: DBAD
I would do A or B, and if it really bothered you, just ask if he would be o.k. with letting you do an extra run really quick in exchange for you staying there to res him. If that doesn’t work, find another dome. I like that you actually took the other person’s perspective into account, and it is a HUGE help to get ressed on Liadri as running back kind of screws up your flow.
I do think it sucks that people get so selfish as if farming in a video game is such serious business that they can’t help other people. It seems fair to go 1for1 as well, as they would wait for you and res you. I guarantee you would have a better time actually teaming up with the other person and cheering rather than hitting the same 10 button combo for a few silver each time!
when im farming and i see another guy come and start liadri i just step back and GTFO, is a waste of my time, food and money. sorry but im Going for C.
A lot of people like to try liadri in the same dome where other is farming just to get the free res.
I would always resurrect people when farming/doing the event. I’m pretty sure their goal isn’t to die when attempting these battles, so I choose not to make life more miserable for them than it already probably is (especially if they’re repeatedly dying). I’ll have the gambits and opponent selected, resurrect the player, and then immediately queue up. That has never been a problem for me.
Usually I just get my gambits and we take turns. I cheer @ them too, since I know how frustrating Liadri is.
If one more person arrives though, I GTFO of there.
B.
c always c. (15char)
I am not farming DED, but I will use C if only if:
1. That people (usually selfish farmer) does not res you (although you res him/her once).
2. People who comes, then queue-ing directly (lot of these type are farmers), while there are 1 – 2 people which are there trying to res people who died.
D is a bad bad bad thing to do. I will only tell this to player if he/she stupid enough to attack and tank the mob directly in the face, just standing there for entire fight again and again, and only use skill 11111111111111111111111 although he/she fails (lol, I never see this in gauntlet).
C
15 char limit
A, or if it gets really really painful, E. I don’t mind leaving, but leaving a player sitting there dead just feels wrong to me.
Ferguson’s Crossing
Ress the person once and leave the arena, so E.
A. If more players come and we are 4 at one dome E.
Don’t revive. I personally revived a few hundreds of players near arenas, but if i die i almost always run back from WP. And some ppl don’t even say “thank you” when you res them. Tbh i’m annoyed that many ppl still haven’t beat liandri, so they probably should know their place.

C, if they keep returning/more people come then E, because at that point it’s faster to find another free arena out of the 18 available to you.
(I don’t farm DED, I farm Ragemaw instead, but the situation is the same anyway)
