Gauntlet?
The designers at Anet thought it would be a good idea to force zergy content down your throat if you want to go back. You must complete a series of boring zergfests which include waiting 45 minutes for events, 5 times.
I don’t see how this makes any sense from a story perspective either. Are you guys just trying to kitten your customers off?
yeah .. having to do zerging to get back in is just awful. I just go in, do 1 champ, then find a corner to AFK while I do real life stuff (making sure to touch the keyboard every few minutes in order to not get auto-logged out). The zerging is actually less fun and more tedious than farming deadeye.
Anyway, there’s not much point in ever returning to the gauntlet anyway, unless you’re an Achievement hunter.
I now have 98 tickets saved up and yesterday was going to be the day to beat Liadri. Worked my job, got home, mowed the front lawn, cleaned up the yard, cleaned up myself and then finally logged on only to find out that access to the gauntlet is gone until I do a bunch of time consuming stuff from the new update.
The new content is great, lots of fun, but still blocking access to old content seems a bit pointless. Believe me it will probably take me all 98 of those tickets to beat her and get that cool little mini. I need all of the time I can get.

To get back to the arena/gauntlet, you have to defeat Scarlet in her playhouse. Which means zerg-content.
