Is farming deadeye dunwell an exploit?
I don’t think so, I can barely do the kitten thing. AS A MESMER. I think you should be rewarded for your skill since there’s failres like me that can barely do it.
It’s an exploit, because you’re probably making more money that intended. I doubt anyone will get banned over Deadeye farming tho tbh.
if you are worried about it just stop where you are
It’s not an exploit, how can game mechanics be one. Besides Anet knows that with every event people are clever enough to make boatloads of money.
It is an exploit obviously, but due to the number of people participating it is unlikely you will be banned since they need to have players actually in their game to make money.
It is no different than any of the other currency exploits. Buy item for very cheap, exchange it during a 10 second fight to significantly more money.
It SHOULDN’T be considered an exploit, but Anet is capricious and arbitrary with regards to this kind of business. So who knows.

Nope.
It’s not technically an exploit.
They are using bosses which ANet provided to them, gambits which ANet provided to them and they receiving the rewards ANet felt were appropriate.
The fact people are able to farm it reflects on both their skill and on it possibly being too easy to kill Deadeye. That’s not an exploit though, that’s a mistake on the developers part. Some of the fights definitely feel like they’re in the wrong tier, all of 3 is relatively easy except Liadra.
An exploit is the misuse of a software feature or bug in a way that allows a player to generate in-game benefits without the risk or time expected by the game’s designers.
I guess this is up for interpretation, but I do not consider it a misuse of a software feature as we are killing him as designed by the designers.
Similarly, farming the pavillion was not an exploit when it first came out. The drops were just too much, so the had to lessen the amount of money you could make.
People need to not use the word exploit for everything. An exploit is not a general term for everything that might be nerfed in the future.
Did you all find some mechanism that prevents you from dying? Like are you glitching under the world? If so, that would be an exploit.
Are you fighting and winning? Using normal game mechanics? That isn’t an exploit.

This guy gets it.
Just because the devs (should I say Dev, it seems like Mr. Hrouda consistently undervalues the power of reflection skills) didn’t intend for us to beat him this quickly doesn’t mean it’s cheating to do so.

Nope.
Reward for 7 got nerfed. Reward for Deadeye did not. Both can be done with 4 gambits in the same amount of time. Yet another thing that makes me question if the devs even know their own game.
Deadeye is completely different from 7 , he is on his level of difficulty because if you make 1 mistake he will spam Aimed Shots and tele away with a finish. This all assuming you attempting to farm him with 4-5 gambits.
You guys seriously think Anet aren’t aware of the situation? Lol …

These words need to be pasted somewhere everyone can see them.

I still die sometimes when fighting him, and I’m not using reflects since I’m a thief. Still, I make a fine profit.
Nameless Inversion/Ascension/Evasion/Ruination/Impression/Perdition/Compassion/Tactician
Guild Wars 2 will be an amazing game when it’s finished. Compare Prophecies to EotN!
I would think a thief using blinds could do this particularly well.

I’ve talked with a thief who farms it. Combination of Ambush Trap, Scorpion Wire and Pistol Whip. His cooldowns were way lower than mine as well, meaning Thief is probably in the best position for farming it as fast as possible.
Indeed, thieves hardly have a cooldown on their skills. It’s not failsafe though, as Aimed Shot hurts quite a lot if you can’t hide behind your summoned thief because it stepped on a mine.

Dagger/pistol thief can run 4 gambits twice in 1 minute. Smoke screen is required, other utilities are your preference.

The mines are positioned slightly differently relative to where you start, depending on which dome you enter. Was trying to use flame turret for 5 gambits, only works on some arenas because of the bug with its hit box.
Also, just timed it, I did it on my engineer in 22 seconds with around a 15 second CD afterwards for Elixir U. That means I could probably do 2 attempts/minute also.
