Jousting
I still want mounts yes purely cosmetic for me. WP system is a really nice system, but I don’t see why mounts would ‘ruin the game’. Could be also nice things to sell in the gem store etc.
Moa jousting!
take my money now squawk
What kind of mounts? Moas? Too small. Dolyak? Too slow. Horses? I have never seen one in the game since GW1.
Did I miss something?
Currently playing Heart of Thorns.
You still miss WoW, don’t you?
Maps are too small for mounts, and then we have waypoints, you would spend like 10 seconds on your mount at a time. Just totally pointless.
Besides, there’s 0 lore of mounts, there would be a guy telling: “dude, let’s invent horses!” ? Why? There are asura gates and waypoints.

Well, moas weren’t always a small as the ones we see wandering about virtually everywhere today. Perhaps the larger variety yet exists in some remote corner of Tyria.
And if not, I’m sure some brilliant asura genius could figure out something, even if it involved raptors instead of moas.
i know i feel something is missing..

its the mounts!! motorcycle with char tech is also legid!
I don’t want lame mounts, I want aerial mounts. or flying carpets, or floating castles (a bit faster than the one in isgarren though) or anything flying really. the game has beautiful landscapes and it would be so much fun to fly around kryta or observe the maguuma wildlife from above. maybe circle mount maelstrom and dropping some crumbling bones on the risen in orr
If Jenna had nuts she’d be king too. I just don’t see mounts fitting in this game aside from the cosmetic variety. Something like a joust could be a PvP style instance perhaps, but there’s really no need for mounts in the PvE world. The only way it would kind of a little bit almost appear to consider making sense would be for mounts to not provide a speed boost compared to normal running, maybe instead hold a couple extra storage bags like a mini-mobile bank you can ride.

You’ve clearly never seen a Dolyak running.
They may look bulky, but that’s just all the whool. If you sheared a Dolyak, you’ll see something like the the norn version of a goat.
They should definitely have a sheared dolyak model to use in maps that look really hot like deserts, to show that.

Most GW1 pets grew as they leveled up. But in GW2, they remain juvenile regardless of level. It’ll be nice if they had some system so you could “level up” each of your pets so their stats go from basic to ascended, and their appearance from “Juvenile” to “Adult” or “Dire”.

Eh? If you are addressing me, I have never played WoW nor do I intend to start. Thanks, though, for participating in such a creative and imaginative fashion. /e raspberry
Okay, I changed the thread title. Now.
Jousting, good sir or madam. What about the jousting? At the big parties, like the Queen’s Jubilee? Astride giant moas or drakes or charr-cycles or whatever?
GW2 is not a medieval fantasy game. GW2 is a world based in fantasy, post renaissance, mechanical, steampunk, industrial, magic.
Swords don’t make it medieval fantasy. Because they clearly use some type of magic.

GW2 incorporates elements of medieval fantasy as much as it incorporates elements of those other things, but it’s not any one of those things alone. So. What about jousting?

Jousting is for the weak. Real warriors walk up to their foe, slap him in the face and say “Bring it.”
Will be in the game at some point. But expect it to be mounts.
