Can’t do damage to the orbs that keep pulling me underneath the big black 1/4 the circle spell. Can’t dodge out of it once i get pulled either because im stuck on the ground for a second. So im stuck sitting next to the orbs and hoping for good orb spawns till i figure out something.

I’m really trying to beat this fight and i can see it’s challenging but half the mechanics feel cheap and annoying instead of skill. Especially a Screen blinding technique that seems to happen at random as I’ve looked directly into the light aoe, away, and just had it on my screen and all of these have either blinded me or not it doesn’t make sense(seeing as I have to go after these things). Either way im already having to deal with a bad camera angle as a charr and running away quick turning unloading my cooldowns then running again and still being caught in a few hits. All while dealing with conditions constantly being put on me and barely any endurance even with endurance food/buffs.

I’m just struggling to find a way to beat her with my Engi given these circumstances so anyone with some help would be awesome.

did it with my engi with hgh condi specced and toolkit for pulling mobs

did it as thief 0/30/0/30/10 with heavy focus on buffing my dodges.

for the second phase i used dual pistols unload spam.
gear was mainly zerker armor and pvt jewelery.

Why the kitten didn’t you make this instanced ArenaNet? Can’t even get any good tries on this boss because i have to wait 10 mins everytime in the queue …..

Don’t play a ranger, your pet will be dead the entire time…it seems doable, but rangers kinda get shafted by aoe mechanics yet again.

I am determined to beat this on my Ranger.

I DID IT

I used SB+S/W, Healing Spring, LR, QZ, Sig of Stone and Nature Spirit.
When I had thrown the third Light Orb, I instantly swapped pet (which was ofc dead) hit warhorn buffs and birds, changed to SB and used QZ and sig of stone so that the pet wouldn’t die right away, and started kiting. The pet burst got me to 50%-ish, which was great. Then I just ran the dome in circle (AoEs won’t hit if you just keep moving with the rotation) and pew pew the boss. LR for extra dodge + vigor (life saver here). I used Spirit so that if I knew I was about to get killed by the AoE, I popped it, it died when I downed and I got back up (it was traited to activate on death).
Also Cosmic Rifts (if there were any left) were great for rallying with Downed Skill 2.

Full Zerker gear, 20/25/0/25/0 traits (Marksmanship I+Spotter, Skirmishing I+V, Nature Magic Strenght of Spirit+Spirit active on death). Cat pets (Jaguar used after swap to get Stealth+crits for the pet burst).

Advice for all: When luring clones to the light vortexes, keep sidestepping so that the boss projectiles go flying past you. Also don’t stand in the vortex, it hurts.

ok this is nuts on a necro… i tried over 50 times and i will try 50 more but really we have limited dodge (im packing food), not way to absorb a single shot, very little capability to heal and the heal IS the condition removal so you have chance to get both right on stage too. Was this play tested on this class?

doesnt seem like it souless , and i guess only 6 of 100 ppl actually were able to complete it? lol? seems a tad ridiculous to say that was remotely ready / balanced for release….

Ye gads why? I`ve seen them stream, they are terribad, you`re better off waiting for some youtuber to post footage & get a better view of how it is done.

Curious, they said they had every class run this & complete it, but somewhere else it is stated six of the testers managed to complete it. Guess they forgot there are eight classes ;p

It’s def doable on necro. I just finished it with mine. I used a wierd build/gear setup. Mostly used the gear because I didnt want to go buy more condi gear.

I used full zerker armor with condi trinkets. Scepter(condi)/dagger(zerker) with zerker staff.

Build was 30/30/0/0/10. V VII XI – II X XI – IV traits were spectral armor, spectral walk, and signet of spite. Never used spite, so coulda used something else or done it a lil quicker on the kill. Flesh golem as elite.

No where near the best build or gear and still did it in less than 20 tries on necro.

No Idea how ppl do this. Gave up after 5 hours/100 Attempts of trying ( yes I am bad at this game haha. When I am supposed to dps the Boss? Phase 1 is easy mode. The AoE cones in Phase 2 just rotate. Visions still spawn and are next to the Boss. The orbs seem to spawn randomly and always messes up phase 2 when I don’t see them. The Boss applies Cripple/Weakness which is as bad as an insta_kill. Meleeing is not an option. The Visions kill you through Defy Pain. Longbow gets blocked by the Visions. Rifle is ok with the trait but walking backwards while not seeing where you are in the AoE cone is terrible since Dodges are GOLD and shall not be wasted. Also being unable to see Visions or Orbs spawning just makes things frustrating. Also using Dodge food.
I would really apreciate any advices on how to do this as any further attemps are a waste of time.

The biggest tip I can give is to try to walk out of Liadri’s AoE instead of dodging out of it. The closer you stay to the center, the easier it is to rotate. If you do need to dodge an AoE, remember the next cycle will be directly on top of you.

Did it as a mesmer.
0/20/10/10/30. Clones on dodge, conditions on clones death (chaos), illusionary persona (for free distortion), staff recharge trait, condition remove on healing and a couple of other traits. Used Mirror images, Blink and Mantra of Resolve (to remove conditions on P2).
Used staff + sword/pistol. Used 6 runes of adventurer (they are not very expensive) to refill dodge bar upon using healing skill. Had Mirror as a healing skill, coz of it’s short cooldown.
Blurred Frenzy allows you to survive anything, just need a bit of practise. You can ball her Visions of Mortality and use blurred frenzy in the middle of them – they will all die.
P1 should be done as fast as possible, coz you will be killing her with staff at P2 and that takes time. During P1, you can counter Shadowfall with blurred frenzy, Mirror helps you to reflect her annoying attack. You can also use Blurred Frenzy to kill Visions of Mortality if they disrupt you too much. Kill all Orbs as soon as possible, coz they can ruin everything. Don’t forget about our precious Distortion.
As soon as you throw 3rd sphere at her, stun her with Bullet and summon iDuelist, swap to staff. Run in circles – Shadowfall now falls in circles so you can outrun it and always stay in a safe spot. Use Chaos storm only to kill Orbs. Dodge, create clones, use mirror images, they will apply conditions with their AA and also when they die. When Liadri cripples you, use Mantra of Resolve. Recharge it if possible. Use Mirror to refill dodge-bar, swap to sword and use blurred frenzy to clear Visions of Mortality or to avoid Shadowfall. Use distortion in hard situations :P

They need to fix the orbs so you can hit them with projectiles and leave the shards on the ground for 5 more seconds and the fight would be loads better. It took me about 10 tries on my ranger, my biggest issue being worried about time to I made risky maneuvers. I’d suggest energy sigils you can always evade if you have to and to be patient, but consistent. All the other bosses I steamrolled except I died once on the fire guy.

For the 2nd phase, her aoe move is like an hourglass imprinted onto the floor, which means there are two gaps of which you can safely range her on. Stay closer to the center so moving into those gaps are much easier and takes at most 1 dodge roll if you get unlucky. But kiting her in a circle near the center is pretty easy afterwards (make sure you get orrian truffle for +40 end regen and condi cleanse to remove cripple). For the 1st phase, just memorize the spawn patterns. Stay near the center as much as you can so you can avoid the aoes easier. Only go towards the light circle if a clone is nearby it. It’s a waste just camping a light circle if they are literally on the other side of the room. It’d be better to wait til they make it halfway by standing in the middle then kiting them to wherever.

edit: kill the orbs asap. yes, you can rally off them, but they can also be the main source of your deaths due to their pulling. I found easier to just look out for them and kill it immediately. also, her necrotic grasp can be strafed just like the grawl fractal boss’s agony arrow.
