I have a question about the changes to magic find since i dont know if they will remove the armor/items or simply change magic find into another stat. I would like to know becouse in my case i have magic find armor transmuted into primeval armor skin and i really dont want to lose my favourite skin. If they will just delete it im thinking of getting transmutation stones to change it into something else but i really dont have a lot of gold just lying around. I would like to know what i should do to not lose the skin. Hope someone lends me a hand

Unfortunately, we currently have absolutely no idea how they intend to remove MF from gear.

I HIGHLY doubt they will just flat out delete people’s armor. Nobody knows what they’ll do just yet so I’d just say wait and stay tuned for more updates.

Anything but toughness please. Seeing their aggro system is completely backwards toughness would mean I’d have to replace the armor regardless.

Source??

I have seen nothing definitive about what they intend to do about this issue.

MF on gear will be going away. The manner in which it disappears is not clear.

It was mentioned in I believe either the blog post or one of the interviews on MMORPG.com

I’m going to guess MF on equipment becomes +GOLD drop as that is the closest thing they can replace it with and not create a balance debate. I SERIOUSLY doubt they are going to simply remove any equipment with MF on it from the game.

Looking at the existing named equipment combos it seems the easiest thing to do is simply convert those with MF to another named combo item (that would possibly include Toughness). Either that or change them to Agony Resistance (the only other profession common attribute that is unclassified).

Explorer stats could become Power, Precision, and Vitality (Main stat).

Wayfarer stats could become Toughness, Vitality, Healing Power (Main stat).

Traveler stats could become Power, Condition Damage, Toughness (Main stat).

I think.. not quite sure if those stat combinations exist yet.

What do folks think about celestial? Do they just bump the entire line by 1 point or something?

I’ve wondered about that as well, and tbh I’m not sure what they have planned for that.

If Magic Find Armor gets replaced with say (% Reduction in Condition Duration), That would be pretty awesome, or a new Stat that gives a bonus to your profession Atribute would also be good. Not going to happen, but it would still be cool to see.

I think this is unlikely.

They’ve expressed that one of the reasons they’re removing MF from loot is that they don’t want to force players to choose between stats and loot on gear. Replacing MF with GF wouldn’t really solve this problem, especially in dungeons.

I think the smartest thing to do would be to let us change our mf armor to the stats that we choose (out of existing stat combos of course)

This ^.

The legendaries are apparently going to be selectable outside of combat, so why not have an armor set be this way? This would be the best way to make everyone happy IMO.

For celestial just buff the other stats a slight bit to compensate 1 stat being removed.

I’m betting that utility infusions will stay. It’s not like anyone cares about the +4/5 stats on offensive/defensive infusions.

The only one that should be affected is the Magical Infusion (20% magic find) and maybe the Gilded Infusion (20% more gold from enemies). Still, they’ll probably stay, since then you’d be left with choosing more experience or karma. More options are usually better.

I doubt they’ll flat out delete it. If they just remove the recipes for ‘em they’ll slowly die out. I’d like to see them have an option to trade in the armor for a different set, though, as it’d speed up the process and allow people to change over their build.

Point taken (and you are likely correct). The other interesting side result of all this is what it is doing to MF items on the TP….very weird speculation logic going on there.

If they wind up taking my suggestion, then salvaging a MF item will produce a consumable that gives your account a permanent boost to MF (obviously not a 1:1 ratio).

If that is the case, buying up some MF items now would pay off. Of course, if they go a different route then buying up the MF items will be a waste of time.

I remember reading that salvaging blues and greens will give a chance to get these Permanent Account Magic Find items. I assume this direction means the following: You’ll receive some way to change your existing magic find stats into either permanent account boosts, larger temp boosts, or a different combo of stat increases.

In a perfect world:
You get a one-time use special transmutation stone that can only be used with one piece of magic find gear for each piece of gear you have on that character, per character, thru the in-game mail.

What I’m expecting:
A merchant or something that will turn your MF gear into whatever you want for an in-game fee.
