Will the mini-games present in the new rotation allow us to obtain the old achievements associated with them? (e.g. will be able to still obtain crabgrabber from “The Secret of Southsun” even though the event is over but the mini-game present in the rotation?)

My guess would be no. Maybe there will be new achieves (I’d certainly hope so, the other minigames like Keg Brawl have achieves so the rotation ones should too), but I doubt they’ll let you get the old ones, since that would somewhat ruin the limited-time prestige of them.

However, getting dev confirmation one way or another would be great.

The answer is without a doubt “no”. All those achievements are in an archived section for a reason: past events that aren’t around any more and cannot be accomplished again.

The achievements are related to their respective events [and not just a tie-in to the mini-games that are tasked]. If a bug/system issue allows it, then be happy; but certainly don’t expect them to try to retro achievements from old just for the few that missed out.

P.S. On a personal note, I think they absolutely shouldn’t just because the ones that have related titles shouldn’t be able to be earned any more. Those were rewarded to people that participated in and achieved goals related to the Living Story chapter at that time.
