Quality vs. Quantity
I agree. Instead of getting the lovely Tara Strong to voice act, maybe they should have hired some QA testers to give feedback.
Still love GW2, but they seriously need to be mindful of this two week development cycle with small closed groups.
As soon as I saw Anet’s stance on public test servers I knew we were dealing with a bunch of (relative to other game developers) amateurs.
I like the gauntlet. The encounter designs are meant to be challenging and they are—and still would be without having to deal with garbage like leftover mobs from the previous fight and lag from a zerg running below your dome halfway through your fight. That’s the kind of stuff that gets found on a PTS. So what if people have a few days to practice before it’s for real. I’d rather be limited to two weeks of bug-free attempts instead of buggy crap that may or may not be fixed during the month it’s available.
I get the feeling like sometimes the right people are too proud to admit when they need help, thus rejecting it.
I have to agree with you OP. Originally I thought they were producing the two week content simply because it’s summer time and a lot of players will be home from school occupying their time on Guild Wars. I thought it was great at first because I fall under that category too but school will be starting soon and I will spend less time playing. Regardless of that, with each update they bring us, the quality is lacking. It seems event after event with no permanent content to the story until the Candidate Trials. I feel extremely bad for new incoming players because they’ll never be able to go back and experience the Living Story as players who have been there from the start. As great as the two week content is in theory I would prefer bigger updates with more content at once. I always feel pressured into completing the new content within a two week period and I hate it
