Just wanna get a confirmation here, not to repeat the “Snowflake” incident.

If we love playing Queen’s Gauntlet against the same opponent multiple times, and we’ve mastered a strategy against him, are we doing anything that risks a ban?

Unless that strategy includes something against the rules like actually using an exploit, you’re perfectly fine.

Problem is, how do we define an exploit when fighting Queen’s Gauntlet?

Using Blind intelligently is not an exploit, correct?

As far as I know it isn’t. And I think that if you find do something to manipulate the game in any way, you will be smart enough to see it for what it is.
You already worry about it as if it’s a bad thing and it is, so just trust your judgement.

I mean someone could to run into something that can be used as a exploit at any time, it’s the way you deal with it that matters really.

If using an already existing game mechanic intelligently, and it’s situation isn’t outside any other similar situation, why would you think it’s an exploit?

The issue with the snowflake exploit was people were crafting and then salvaging, and getting back the rare materials in the same or greater amounts regularly. That really doesn’t apply to fighting mobs in the gauntlet.

It isn’t an exploit at all. There is another thread about Deadeye that quoted what was originally put into the patch notes that stated Deadeye was fixed to “reduce farming efficiency.” That clearly shows that Anet knows what’s going on, admits that it can be farmed, and are making changes so that it’s just harder to farm.

They wouldn’t fix an “exploit” by making the exploit harder to achieve.

People who think efficiently killing enemies within the game mechanics is an “exploit” make me want to facepalm. By that definition, speedkilling lupi is an exploit too.

Think stacking and skipping trash is cheap?

i don’t think it’s an exploit, but can people “exploit” this “easy kill” to farm? sure. which is why, as Vix stated, that ANet only upped the difficulty of Deadeye, and not completely take him out of the game or ban players who were repeatedly farming him. they just changed the so-called “efficiency” of it. there was nothing inherently wrong with Deadye, just that players figured out a way to beat him way faster than ANet intended for us to.

Nobody can answer this except Anet.

Retired. Too many casuals.
