I agree about the economic impact. I’ve played a lot the past two weeks but, haven’t the chance to really farm a lot. Used the events to level alts. too. Though never got a good drop the whole time. So, for me this has only been worth 10-15g total.

I can’t believe not one weapon skin. The RNG God’s at Anet have soured me to a greater extent. And to think, I bought $50 in gems because I was so happy with the Wallet system. I had no idea the economic impact that was to follow.

That in combination with thinks like this….

http://www.gamespot.com/news/layoffs-at-guild-wars-2-publisher-6401089

Which is a whole lot of corporate speak for “Now with the game is out, we no longer need all these people anymore”.

Minimize expenses and maximize revenue. Typical corporate money sucking greed.

Queue biased Mod infraction + post deletion.

How about some perspective and context instead. The article references NCSoft lay-offs due to CoH and Aion closing doors. The title of the article is merely an eye catcher yet has nothing to do with Guild Wars 2 nor Arena.net.

You are dishonest by implying so.

Exactly. NCSoft’s Seattle office, which houses the headquarters for NCSoft West, is located in the Century Square building in downtown Seattle. It is NOT ArenaNet, which is located in the Sunset North office complex in Bellevue, WA.

The article above refers to the layoffs that impacted the NCSoft West office in downtown Seattle and had no impact on ArenaNet (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Laying-off-workers/first#post931008). As marnick correctly points out, those layoffs had to do with the City of Heroes sunset and Aion’s poor performance. Not Guild Wars or Guild Wars 2.
