So I just watched the stream and I have to say, this kind of content is perfect for your more hardcore players, but they’re removing it. It’s temporary.

This is insane. There is absolutely no legitimate reason (and I challenge any developer to give me one) to remove it. This is the kind of content this game needs to stay alive. Why not just remove some of it. Like some of the rewards and such, to make them far more special. Why remove the entire thing?

It looks like so much fun and the little 1v1 fight is perfect for hardcore players who want to challenge themselves. This is something we have been crying out for, something challenging, rewarding and permanent, but for some silly reason you skipped out on the last bit.

Why remove it? What is so aweful about keeping it? What possible negative impact could it have? I challenge any ArenaNet employee to answer these questions. Sure, it might be coming back later, but what if I want to play it in a month? What about 2 months? What about 3?

Is any of this stuff going to be permanent? What’s hard about making SAB permanent? What’s hard about making Labyrinthine Cliffs permanent (and just remove the sanctum). Why? This is just a giant middle finger to your players.

This is clearly a core feature of this update and you’re removing it in 4 weeks. What about the staff who worked on this game? Isn’t it a little bit unfair to them that something they worked on (and is clearly more quality than a large amount of the game) is simply being removed later, with the possibility of it being introduced at a later date. I’d be furious.

Why do these decisions keep being made?

They wont admit that but this whole temporary contant spam is their way to keep people playing. It is a rather low and dirty trick but they will keep doing that. Someone at Arena calculated that this will provide higher player retention. Player retention = more potential profit. And this means customer satisfaction becomes a secondary merit. If they can earn more despite less satisfaction, they will do it. I dont blame them that much tbh. But deep inside I hoped that Arena will be better than this. I end up dissapointed.

I startet on the german forums a thead the real pirate vote starts now. If enough people say no how do you thing they will react if this overspree even so big that comunity sites like buffed and co. pupliced it.

The only problem they have is they need somthing for there portfolie for next year. but realy thats no reason the arena can still become a permanent part of the game and they cann add every year new bosses or some chalenges. You see problem easyli solved.

Like i said the Devs need somthing for there Portfolio some kind of events they can restart the next year. So where is the problem to say he guys this thing we make is such cool we let it permanent and every year we add some chalenges and bosses.

Its much better to have a coluseum all the time as an olympia every year.
Wouldnt you agree with me? This arena is to cool to make it to some kind of olympic games.

Didn’t they confirm that Halloween, Wintersday, SAB, BotFW and Queen’s Jubilee were on the yearly rotation though?

I agree that Queens Gauntlet should be permanent, it would be great for the hardcore pvers and it would provide the much more needed challenges some ppl are looking for. They could leave the jubilee stuff as temporary obviously because its a festivity and keep the gauntlet as some sort of training ground for adventurers and heroes.

Q: Isn’t the reason to take away Queens Gauntlet is invalid because creatures in it are clock works. Automation run on their own no additional maintenance required. Death animation itself is they become deactivated on the kill not destroyed. What is the point of having an arena if you aren’t going to use it. Could turn it into PVE: PVP 1v1 arena fights where people wager gold that others can watch. Cost of building arena isn’t covered by one event even world cup stadiums and Olympic stadiums are used out side of the reason they are build.
