What is WRONG with those horns?! Tell me, how could that Charr be physically possible? He’s facing perfectly to the left, showing his profile. That means his right side horns are roughly a foot further forward than the left ones?

The only thing it resembles other than Charr that I can think of is a Centaur.

Im confident that is not a charr. It stands like a sylvari/human. It almost has sylvari resemblance.

But I don’t think this is either. I would say a new race. Might be far fetched but notice the nose.

Also look at the “wall” in the background. Tengu Wall perhaps?

The only race I can think of matching that front figure is centaur……..but even then I’m not convinced.

For once I find myself utterly stumped.

I suppose it is a less pronounced face than Charr usually have, though the posture could just be their salute position. However, regardless of what it is, those horns :P

Horns , Of course, they match well as charr horns. Armor : Spiket shoulders, and chest armored – Perfect match with charr uniforms. “Hands” : They are perfect match with charrs Paws. His Position : Its for sure, a commom salute of a charr for one superior.

I’m very sure thakittens a charr yes..

I am confident those are centaurs. Remember that one centaur in LA who appeared around Dragon Bash? He might be a clue about what is about to come.

Maybe something revolving around the Pact group? Or possibly around one of the three orders? Or it could be something about the charr/human / renegades/separatists?

The celebration of the anniversary of Queen Jennah’s rule will be a convenient in-lore way to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of GW2. The month long celebration will start August 6 with a decorated DR, open world achievements and possibly some of the missing/unfinished DR activites. Of course, as seems to always be the case in Tyria, things will not go as expected. I suspect Caudecus will somehow be involved as this would give them an in-lore excuse to update CM. The conflict will come to a climax with the August 20th update and be resolved a week later, just in time to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee (GW2 1st anniversary) on the 28th.

Seems plausible. Would be a way to introduce 2nd set of minis (since something about them were found in the dat file).

It had better not be another celebratory update. Yeah, yeah, not every update has to be all action, but we’ve had 4 releases where nearly nothing happens that had any weight. I’ve said it before but a councilman I never knew dying and then right soon after being replaced has no weight.

I hope it expands the centaur war plot. (Nobody should get their hopes up for entering the Woodland Cascades though, according to the wiki, no areas are being added for 2013. Scroll down to the bottom of “mentioned” to see it.)

Why assume that every single update will have to do with the election?

It is quite likely that the coming updates will be based around the anniversary of the game rather than the current story line.

People probably forgot that Tyria doesn’t just revolve around Kiel. If you played the Living Story since the Secret of Southsun I wouldn’t blame you for forgetting that Tyria is so much bigger than what Kiel is doing this month.

It’s not incredibly obvious to people because its facial features are nothing like a charr’s. Its facial features coupled with the horns on its head relate it to a centaur more than a charr.

You could be right – maybe that is Rox, but if it is, then the artist drawing her seems to have completely forgotten what charr look like.

The results of the election will likely not matter until November, maybe slightly earlier. They’ll just follow other plot points until then.

Note that August will be the anniversary stuff and hopefully focusing on more Kryta content, September is still up in the air (some are speculating SAB returning, but perhaps another racial focus…Asuran could combine the two), October is Mad King month (possibly something else also, but Halloween is usually a big deal), November will be the results of the election (possibly other things, but we’re most likely getting the fractals then, maybe another racial focus?), and December is probably going to be Wintersday (also a big deal).

They can easily avoid furthering the story for Kiel/Gnashblade until November, they’ve got other characters and plot threads to work with.

NextHero is a sort of code that they use to label upcoming updates. It doesn’t mean anything other than that.

I’m thinking centaur or perhaps a new race but really more-so going with centaur. Maybe a defector? I mean, the actual face has absolutely no Charr features. And let’s not forget that the Collapse seems to be stirring. With “weird noises” being heard from the depths that are supposedly just drakes…uh-huh…

Speculation: It is the Shining Blade and a special new living story character (or maybe Rox, but I wouldn’t understand why Rox is in DR) at the Great Collapse, getting ready to make a new area and fixing the great collapse and/or getting ready to explore the depths of the great collapse

I want to see an orgie in Divinity’s Reach. A centaur head on the “king” of the orgie, everyone is drinking blood and eating meat and bread while kittening each other.

Not sure if he was already there, but there’s a royal architect on the scaffolding where the vista is, and he says something about the foundation is coming along nicely and shouldn’t collapse this time. This has to be where the Royal Terrace is, what with all the royal architects there. And the Shining Blades…

What does QJ stand for? I always figured the release would be called Queen Jennah’s Next Hero. Which, if that is the case, is kind of a corny name. Not very dramatic, but oh well.

The only missing thing in DR is Mystic forge. Yeah, imo the DR is the biggest city in game so they are trying to atract more people to roam their streets but I am not sure if adding another MF is the way to go. I am pretty curious what they have prepared for us.)
