I was looking around the lore section of the forums when I stumbled across a post about Jennah’s new guards. Where I looked at somebodies post which was this:

“Oh my Gods, the Asuran evil overlord will kill off the Queen with those!
Remember the Infinity Ball mission?! Those Steampunk creatures and the overlord talking about the “Battle at Divinity’s Reach”?”.

I remember this mission and this could be true. What do you think? I take no credit for this theory but it is certainly possible.

I also just went to the wiki to look up the dialogue in this when the ‘Mysterious Stranger’ and Shodd appear. This stood out.
Mysterious Stranger: You don’t stand a chance. In your world, this technology hasn’t even been invented yet!
Mysterious Stranger: It’s time we took the field, Grand Vice Admiral Shodd. Just like the battle for Divinity’s Reach!
Shodd: Sovereign, eh? That does sound good. Hang on. What’s my role in this brand-new reality?

Notice Shodd mentions the word ‘Sovereign’. Also the fact that the guards are new technology and the mysterious stranger says “In your world, this technology hasn’t even been invented yet!”.

This Sovereign sounds suspiciously like the Reapers from Mass Effect have somehow learned to rip a hole throug the interdimensional fabrics of reality using mass relays by synchronizing element zero with chaos energy from the fractals of the mists. IIRC some one on reddit found hidden code indicating this is totally real.

On a non absurd note, I’ve always been curious about what was up with the steam creatures. It would be interesting to see them here or any living story in the future.

The mysterious stranger was the Asura PC, from an alternate world. And in this world, the Asura PC isnt evil, so the steam creatures never get created.

Sorry but your theroy falls apart when you actually know the context of the story.

Yes, as the above poster said. Even if the evidence did fit… Anet actually fitting details from the personal story into the LS? That’s a highly unlikely occurence.

Lord Faren was from the Human Personal Story and had bits in Secrets of Southsun and Dragon Bash. Granted, he wasn’t a major character, but he has ties to Kasmeer.

The only ties Faren had with Kasmeer was trying to get into her bikini. I don’t really think he’ll be playing much of bigger role in the future except for a cameo or two. Though I’d personally would like to see more characters from the Personal Story pooping up besides Faren. I’d love to see what Malyck is up to, even though I doubt we’ll see him anytime soon… :<

whether or not this is real, which, by anet standards, could be real or not, tying into personal stories would be a welcome change. I would love to see more of Destinies edge(not logan dangit!) and I want to see a greater hand in the 3 orders to help with threats, not dumblions arch. Moving to Kryta is a good start, but we need focus on the norn, the asura(even though I dislike asura) and the charr and sylvari.
