Someone bought a royal terrace pass?
Nope, those are the things inside there, nothing special or unique for that place, but rather all the other useful stuff in the same place.

So, Release page is a Liar
“Get two weeks of unlimited access to the Royal Terrace, where you’ll find gates to other capital cities, crafting stations, merchants, and a magician!”
What/who/where is the Magician?
Hmm, I have not seen a magician in there, but might have missed him/her/it.

There is only one Magician in Tyria. He summons birds to peck out his eyes. He changes colors. Occasionally he blows himself up.

So.. the magician is true? Something special, or the Bird thing is serious?
So you are basically paying for a two week pass to another Lion’s Arch?
the pass is a convenience item to save having to go back to Div Reach to use banks etc…
Have you not noticed the slow loading of instances now and the plethora of junk you get from the instance… all adds up to “I cant be bothered to keep jumping out of instance to empty and crush stuff” otherwise its another zzzzz waiting to load and then fall into overflow… smart move on ANETS part but not something I will be buying.

Except the Pavilion and Divinity’s Reach aren’t in the same zone. The Terrace is in Divinity’s Reach, a zone that already has most of those things in fairly close proximity, while the Pavilion requires zoning to reach which prompts all the problems you just pointed out.

They’d really have to put in something that wasn’t already available within the trading district in LA. Sure, it’s closer together in the royal terrace, but it’s already close enough together in LA that it’s just not going to interest people, especially since they then have to make their way to Divinity’s Reach in order to actually use it.
Maybe if it had access to some of the things you’d normally have to leave town to get it’d work. Mystic forge ingredients that require a temple open or cooking ingredients normally obtained from specific heart vendors only. Not sure if that would be giving too much or not though.
If at least the pass worked as a instant port to the Pavillion, I would for sure buy it.
Yeah, that would actually help it out a lot. Bonus points if it worked like the mists, where you could exit back to wherever you were previously.
It definitely needs something to make up for its 300 gem cost. As it stands you’re either paying $3.75 worth of gems, or paying ~10.5g for a two week duration item that isn’t much more convenient than LA.
I had a Royal Pass drop for me. Not worth to buy it though.

It does work like that. I spoke with someone who got a Royal Pass as a drop. Double-clicking it does teleport you to the Royal Terrace from wherever you were. HOWEVER, using it again won’t teleport you back where you came from like a Portal Stone would.
Oh, Thanx Arshay! Now, If this is true, maybe I’ll buy it. More to get out of curiosity.
But they can really be got as an drop? I don’t think so.
Of course they can, they drop in the Crown Pavilion. I’ve seen it happen several times, though I’ve not been lucky myself.
I’ll continue to use my home borderland while in the field tyvm.
I didn’t buy it, it seemed pointless to use. Saves me one loading screen at best? Since the spots in Divinity’s Reach anyway and you can use the map to warp back up there while in the pavilion, this seems like a poor attempt at making us get more gems.
