Glancing over the preview images for the Queen’s Jubilee, I noticed that the miniature Watchknight happens to be holding a spear above water and more like a staff than anything else. But, gander at that spear again. It doesn’t really look like a spear, does it? Nor do a lot of the other Spears we have in game, currently.

This has me wondering if we might see a certain something introduced properly sometime in the furture… [&AgZPWQAA]

Of course this is just personal speculation and I could be totally off, but it does make me ponder if we’ll be seeing Watchknights using new combat animations which in turn could be applied to player wielded Polearms. Guess we’ll see come the sixth.

naw, you’re not alone. that’s the first thought i had in mind as well.. SPEARS? POLEARMS?? though, nothing about new weapon types mentioned, so far. so it may just be a NPC weapon type for now.

still exciting regardless.

That spear is the Golden/Seraph spear skin. It’s not new.

Yea, but it’s an overground spear then… the staff looks different, could the spear be on its way into the game? Would love that at some point!

Well i watched an interview with Colin before the release of the politics LS step and he said a new prof is basically out of consideration but new weps are quite likely. I’d love for my war to run around with a spear and a tower shield 0.o it would be soooooooooo(abv.) awesome

The weapon has both a spear and a pick axe form. If it is not a spear then it has to be a pick axe. Axes are one handed which fit the way the figure is holding it.

Edit: after a more detail look the weapon has all the feature of what an ordinary pick axe has.
