My warrior went down, got back up with Vengeance, killed the baddie, appeared on the rafters with the chest and rewards — and then went down dead, needing repairs, etc.
Why does killing the gauntlet bosses not satisfy the requirements for Sweet Revenge?
my guess? because the act of killing the boss in itself gives no experience.
^ That’s most likely the reason. It’s the same reason why killing summoned enemies or minions doesn’t trigger Sweet Revenge; you actually need to gain XP from the slain enemy for it to count.
