Alright, the cry-fest is already in full swing for every aspect of the new update that people haven’t played yet. I mean, I had to put on my aquabreather just to write this post.

So I’d just like to say this sounds awesome.

We’re going to be able to cheer on friends/strangers alike. I haven’t seen the map yet, but it sounds like a dome with spectators on the outside. This means we’ll be able to move around easily and switch who we’re watching. So as matches finish up early, people can come cheer the remaining challengers on. Or maybe it’ll be “hey, that person is trying a T3!”.

Banners will be dropped, as will feasts. Good players can show off their skills, while others can watch and learn. Maybe it’s having just read through Edge of Destiny…but this sounds very frickin’ awesome.

You give the community far to much credit. For every person cheering 1 griefer will be there to laugh at the players every fault.

Oh I agree the arena does sound awsome. But it’s temporary. Why?
Every good piece of content gets removed. Why?
I can see no good reason as to why any of this stuff is temporary, I don’t care that it’s instanced, I don’t care it might be “too hard”, what I care about is that after 4 weeks it will be gone and I can’t even think of one bad reason as to why.

I think it is part of the strategy to keep things feeling fresh. The fact that you look back fondly on previous events shows that their strategy is working. Part of executing this living story content properly is taking it away just as it begins to lose its appeal to the majority of players. This keeps it from becoming stale.

If Anet were to leave these in longer, many of these posts would be “Why is the bazaar of the four winds still here?! I’m so sick of sanctum sprint!” This would defeat the fun in it and leave a sour taste in the players mouths. That is just how I view it anyway.

Ill look back fondly remembering the wasted time I idled before I went into the hardest content GW had to offer that is now no longer playable because it was removed… Sounds great!

If they left content people would not be flocking to the forums complaining that they are bored of something, they will simply just not play it. They would come flocking to complain of not enough players, however this would not effect Queens Gauntlet since it is a solo game.

Personally, I think that the tpavillion is stupid and shows the lack of creativity with the fights in this game. Essentially, this whole thing is nothing m ore than a dps race, any fight that has a timer isn’t really a good boss fight because it force the individual to focus entirely on damage.

Also do the the fact that they want us to switch weapons for the different roles elementalist are going to be screwed.
