The reason why I won't be killing 'Liadri'.

Find one arena that has at least 2 people, usually the rotation is; one dead, one reviving, the other doing. Dont go to arenas alone, otherwise that will happen. Trust me, it works!

The entire system was ill-conceived. The travel can at least be circumvented by having someone there to res you when you die, but the queues are a constant reality for any larger server or any popular play hour.
It’s like they didn’t learn their lesson from The Mad King’s Clocktower at all – people don’t want to be forced to wait several minutes to reattempt challenging content that just handed them their kitten . Most of them want to get right back in there and give Liadri or that stupid tower what for.
(And this is coming from someone who successfully completed both).

The difference between the gauntlet and the mad king’s clocktower is any one could participate in the clocktower, you did not have to run from a far waypoint upon failure and movement lag was not a factor.
Gauntlet fails at all three.
As someone mentioned earlier, best to go to a gauntlet arena with 2 people and be the 3rd.
And if they too are trying to get Liadri, even better since you can watch them.

it’s part of the challenge. You know you have to run when you die, so it adds more pressure that you don’t fail :p
Just a heads up; if you are about to fail a gauntlet challenge and go to the character selection screen, you will occasionally appear by the Ringmaster. Sometimes you’ll be downed, sometimes you won’t. It can save a little bit of time if your computer loads the map quickly.

But you already have…
- Armor Damage
- Wasted Tickets
- Wasted Time
- Wasted Buff(s)
- Re-Queue
- Slightly more Angry/Annoyed
So instead of respawning alive at the top level somewhere, they just decided “welp may as well toss another two onto the fire”
- Waypoint Fee
- Walking Back
And people wonder why someone with over 3400 hours of playtime has 0c left in their Wallet.
I remember for one of the boss I pressed my gs leap button as he was about to die and so was I.
I won the match, but then it brings you out and I leaped off to my death.
Not too happy with the design.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.

Pff…Your suggestion takes more skill than it does beating these boss’s.

I personally would have laughed uncontrollably for the next couple of minutes had that happened to me.
The most tedious parts for me:
-Walking back
-Waiting in queue
-Design of dome (Floor and size)
-Lag from zerg below
I ended up completing every achievement, but it was by far the worst encounter I’ve ever done in the last 10 years of gaming.
For me it’s the awkward threesome of the dome, the zerg and my hardware. That shadowfall AoE drops my framerate when I am outside the dome…. My normal framerate inside the dome is about the same as in the largest zerg fights in WvW (at least there I’m not trapped in a tiny bubble, usually).
I know, upgrade my toaster….. I plan to….. Just not for one stinkin boss.

And don’t forget that since Mad King’s Clocktower used the sPvP framework, you didn’t have to spend a small fortune to even attempt to complete it.

I agree, having to WP and the run all the way back is absolutely horrible design. Gameplay-wise, I see no reason why it must be like this — all it does is kitten people off.
here is a stupid question why cant the NPC res you? NPC can res players Logan and Roxx and brahm all resed me plenty of times.

But you need to run back to get the endurance buff if you trying to kill Liadri
Maybe Anet can let you not lose that buff when you die so we can use the buddy system…
The worst is when like 5 people are there…. all of them AFK except the one person that refuses to res.

This is possibly the stupidest thing I’ve heard anyone suggest. They should have made the Gauntlet have a separate instance area with a spectator area that can see all six arenas, instead of suspending them over explorable areas where zerging is going on. It’s just ridiculous.
fans hate Joffrey. They hate her the way Star Wars
fans hate Jar Jar Binks.”-not a direct quote, but still true.
I cannot get this fight done. Even when the zone is empty it’s just too hard. I am normally able to get her to the second stage, except for when I miss an orb, or can’t see the vision behind me. If I get there it’s just death. Even when I pop deathshroud just after getting her buff down, I end up at no health. And then those pulling orbs? Dreadful. And not being able to keep her targeted when she jumps or the kitten camera.
It’s too much for one fight. Too many annoying mechanics to keep track of. I’m getting close to 100 tries and between the panic attacks and the rage, I’m close to giving up.

There is a certain beauty to it though. It allows you to do the events and then take on bosses in the gauntlet while you wait for the events to come back (or, alternatively, farm destroyers then go do Gauntlet while you wait for the zerg to finish events).
