What of the Mursaat?
Shiro and the Afflicted were Cantha based, not truly related to Kryta. And the one dev mentioned the Mursaat, tand that they wanted to do it, but because of time and budget reasons, they realized that they couldn’t do them proper justice. They may be visited in the future (if I recall), but to make new models, animations, etc. were not possible for this LS.
Also I think for the Ogres they are using the attacks on Ebbonhawk as the reason of their inclusion.
The crowns representative is even from Ebonhawk…
There was a dev post little time ago talking about the mursaats, basically they said that the mursaats were in the early production ideas, but they felt that they were too important to appear in an update that wasn’t all about them in the first place.
EDIT: found it:
I originally had the Mursaat/White Mantle as one of the factions. They’re certainly a stronger pick than something like bandits or pirates, but there’s a lot of factors that go into these sorts of things. Creating a new army never before seen is pretty complex and takes a lot of time and iteration. Not only is there a large design cost for it, but art has to create a brand new environment, new armor, new character models, new weapons, and those are not simple tasks either. I played a ton of GW1, so I know their significance. I also knew how much time I had to do this, what my asset request bank was, and knew that I couldn’t do the Mursaat justice… especially with such a small area.
If I’m gonna do Mursaat and White Mantle, I (as a hardcore GW1 player) would want it to be epic and grand. We haven’t ..forgotten.. about them, I just have higher expectations for them than what I was capable of putting out in this release.…and yes I’m proud of that reference.

wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.
They did mention that these were intended to represent RECENT threats to humanity, in kryta, the current struggles. Not ancient history.
As a player that put thousands of hours into GW1, there are some things that I want to see again. It makes sense that it would be such a high production cost, and I totally get that. I’ll be waiting to see them in a future update. But I just thought there was precious little story that had to do with such a bland enemy as an Ogre.
I’m really growing tired of hearing “____ Is too important, they deserve their own release.”
They’ve said it for the Mursaat.
They’ve said it for Cantha.
They’ve said it for the Tengu.
When are we going to see this content then? If ever? I’m so tired of flying magic space pirates.
Because this is what 250 years after fantasy looks like.

Then choosing a game thats a blend of sci fi and fantasy probably wasnt the best decision you’ve made.
