Guild Wars 2

I love finishers and i use them. i even made sure to get the explosion finisher because it was awesome. finishers are one of the things i love to collect and show off in guild wars 2.

For me however minis are on an entirely different level. i want them ALL! though amazing changes like the currency wallet and the perma-finishers only serve to further convince me that updates to how minis are carried and displayed are just around the corner, the fact that finishers came first make me wanna prod you guys along just a bit.

so here’s what i’m thinking, and i know these are not original ideas.

• minis panel like WoW.

Not my favorite idea but certainly not a bad one.

• mini slot in character pane with a show/hide check-mark, like helm/shoulder/backpiece .

This is the one i prefer because i like to carry around a group of minis the fit a theme, like all moas or all golems or beauties and beasts (all charr and humanoid females). if we go the WoW route i will be denied this simple pleasure. plus it would diminish the individuality of GW2. to me having all my minis all the time with no penalty to inventory kinda feels a little too casual. we should be penalized for taking mini pets with us because tyria is a place where only the strong survive. thus you only carry what you need unless you are powerful enough to do what you want. translated into gameplay: why would you bring a mini pet with you if you are short on bag space? that slot would be better used for food or alt equipment or loot until you earn enough bag space to carry cosmetic items. a WoW-esque mini pane would weaken minis as a status symbol and i don’t want that. (i assume everyone has an invisible bag.)

There’s already a bank tab for minipets. No, they won’t copy WoW, and if you try to suggest something while clearly naming the other game you take the system from, you better not even comment.

Colin originally wanted to use mini for polymock, but did not have the time or resources.

The Polymock arenas are in the game (it’s a shame you can’t explore them anymore), so it’s quite possible that Colin’s original idea for Polymock will happen at some point.

Yeah I don’t think Mini’s will see any major update to them until they are ready to roll out Polymock.

Hell yeah, I would love to see my white kitten tear up some mini’s

I’m not sure where you got that idea but no one’s ever said all suggestions have to completely original or that you can’t name other games on the forum. In fact I seem to remember that during beta testing we were specifically encouraged to mention other games that used the ideas we suggested because the devs are likely to at least be aware of them and it made it quicker and easier to explain what you meant.

Actually we don’t. Flame and Frost only had 1 mini which was a rare drop from the dungeon chest, Sky Pirates had one as a meta-achievement reward and Lost Shores and the Secret of Southsun both had sets of 3 minis which were rare drops in-game.

But what the OP is asking for, and what many people have asked for repeatedly since launch, isn’t another set of minis coming out with the release, it’s a way to access our minis without having to go back to the bank to swap them out so they can be more easily shared between characters and used wherever you happen to be. A lot like the new wallet system for dungeon tokens.

And/or a way to carry and display a mini without having it sitting in your bag (and disappearing every time you use a waypoint, die, move to a new zone or do pretty much anything else except stand perfectly still).

Minis, tonics and finishers should have some kind of equipment slot, like harvesting tools, so you can keep them equipped and with a hotkey to display them (off-pvp for finisher, of course, like /rank).
