After so many tries i managed to beat Liadri and got enough achievements to get the chest from the queens gauntlet.

Oddly enough it doesnt feel as much as an accomplishment it is just like bitter acomplishment and im here to discuss MY point of view, if someone else agrees, good but mostly this is my biased opinion about this event and i will try to discuss it in a civilized way.

I wont start at Liadri mostly because it has probably been discussed in 60% of this thread but i will rant about the reward of the queens gauntlet.

Arenanet i want to say im truly displeased about the reward in this case Exotic bag of loot when the event started i rushed into the achievement panel to see how would be called the tittle of THE GAUNTLET a 1 time event ina living story, a place where you beat a CHALLENGING content in order to be the “RISING SUPER STAR” as the announcer says.

after i managed to beat every achievement necessary to get the 11/11 i got the exotic bag of loot i was kinda surprised what would i get after doing such challenging content and what do i get? SPOILER INSIDE BB CODE WONT WORK FOR SOME REASON [spoiler] 2 gold coins

really?… i mean, really? After beating 11/11 of you challenging content i get2 dungeon runs? in rewards .

why not Rising Super Star tittle? or King of the Gauntler tittle? such an amazing opportunity to give a tittle and i think most people would prefer a tittle rather some gold coins [/spoiler]. END OF SPOILER

is like i never participated in this event (except for the Liadri mini that proves it).

There’s gold, then there are exclusive items that other people can’t even hope to get.

beating liadri should give you a “gauntlet’s champion” title, for bragging rights. the mini is cool, but until ANet makes minis an equippable item instead of a collectible, they won’t catch on.

There could be no reward for it at all, and I’d be fine with it. In my opinion it’s the content that matters, not the reward.

I agree there should be a title for it.

But you do know you can hover over the little chest symbol next to the achievement and it’ll tell you what’s in it right?

If you’re only doing the achievements to get a reward you can check in advance what that reward will be and decide before you even start if you think it’s worthwhile.

i did it for bragging rights, not for a mini or anything else. i get to say i took down the boss everyone’s QQing about, and i got to do it while my guild watched me. all of them taken down with the thief, my main.

makes me proud of myself, but i’d like to have a title to rub it on strangers’ faces :P

2 gold and a mini. I stopped right at Liadri after finding out about the rewards. Not worth the trouble. And while a title would be nice, how many really care about that? Is it just me who thinks titles aren’t that important?

You get a heap of achievement points… that’s quite a big reward to me.

They could add a “Lightbearer” or “Lightbringer” title for the Liadri 8 orbs achievement

Achievement points is nothing special, they accumulate over time, I find more valuable a “personal” reward, and like the others posted above, a title is much more meaningful, especially since the content is made much more difficult by the mini game (and the game in general may I add) have an inherent lack of enemy cast bars, which to this day I still don’t understand the creative reason for not including them, a lot of guess work and anticipation which will be purely based on animation….

GJ to those that managed to do it.

I don’t know why expectations for rewards are so huge when it took all of THREE DAYS to complete the content.

I agree with this! You don’t actually need to defeat liadri for the 2 gold, you just need a lot of the entrance tickets for gambits

However, for Liadri, instead of a mini, I would have either loved:
1) A title
2) A set of achievement armor skins (yes! Not those cheap 1 time use ones, but ones you can keep spawning) so you can get armor skins with the shadow look
or 3) a dye which is unlocked for your entire account which gives you a shadow look (which could lead into exotic dyes which give cool unique effects similar to legendary weapons)

Titles aren’t a big deal. But IMO that’s why it’s perfect for things like this.

It’s a nice way to say “I beat this content” without being something anyone would feel forced to get even if they don’t want to do the content.

They should offer free Precursors to anyone who can complete all the Gauntlet achievements, along with an exclusive title to show off.

I’ll admit, if I ever end up beating her I can’t say I even remotely had fun fighting her. All of the other bosses? Heck yes I had fun fighting them, but Liadri singlehandedly ruined the entire experience for me. I can’t even remember how many times I tried fighting her, but I don’t think I even have the will to try again anymore, she’s just not fun to fight at all.

take a day or two off, then come back. it’s what i did, and it still took me a couple tries after that, but a clearer mind instead of all that built up frustration helped a lot.
