In the mean time, I suggest that everyone pays attention to the action prompt. It will say “Open” if you are about to activate the chest and “Travel” if you are about to lose your chest and go to DR.

I changed F to AOE loot when that came out. So I no longer use it for my action button. It actually helps out a lot.

Didn’t even notice the chest the first time I got to the top, it was a fairly large crowd of players.

Yes, especially if there are group at the top,, please move the chest down one flight of stairs.
I’ve had so many mistakes with this similar issue in the past that I definitely make sure I am hitting f on the right thing. Whether I have to actually target the npc or stand in a certain place, etc. Its definitely a tedious issue sometimes. lol
The worst is when people throw down banners in the middle of enemie mobs and I end up accidentally picking up those then grabbing loot. >.>

No problem. I actually really love having my AOE loot as F. It helps a lot while in large group combat. This way I can dodge, roll, attack, run around all at the same time and then periodically tap F to gather all the loots.

I agree, and for me it reset everything … couldn’t register in achievements that I’d visited the balloon, but wouldn’t trigger a visit if I went back because the chest was open, and obviously I missed the loot. Grr.
