don’t waste any silver on these, the commendations are worthless the items you trade them for are crap

Kromica – yes, if you call 250-uses salvage kits and BL Keys crap…

you spend tokens in the middle of lion’s arch by where the lion statue used to be. The skins are cool, so if you like them go for it. The stats can be gotten elsewhere for cheaper.

I like the lionguard skins :/ Not everyone thinks they’re trash. And it’s cheap to just get one and transmute it.

Items you can trade them in for:

Black Lion Key – 285 commendations
Crude Salvage Kit – 1 commendation
Disassembler 3BEK Kit – 25 commendations (salvage kit; 250 uses, 20% chance of upgrades, 10% chance of rares)
Sturdy Copper Harvesting Sickle – 4 commendations (same as copper harvesting sickle, but with 250 uses)
Sturdy Copper Logging Axe/Mining Pick – 2 commendations (same as above)
Iron Harvesting Tools – Sickle 9, Axe/Pick 5
Steel – Sickle 15, Axe/Pick 7
Darksteel – Sickle 20, Axe/Pick 10
Mithril – Sickle 27, Axe/Pick 13
Orichalcum – Sickle 67, Axe/Pick 33

All tools have 250 uses, otherwise are identical to their regular (non-sturdy) versions.

Salvage kit may be the only one that’s worth it imo, saves bag space.

25 commendations for lowest tier rare (level 40)
40 for middle tier rare (level 60)
50 for top tier rare (level 80)
1300 for top tier exotic (level 80)

Pretty cheap to get some to transmute.

After some experimenting I found 3 rares weapons are best if you compare cost to commendations, masterwork is also pretty good. Both much better than using food at the moment.

You need to give 3 times 10 food to get 1 commendation.

Even at 5c per food, this costs you 1.5s plus the 1.4s item from the NPC for one single commendation, for a total of 3s per commendation.

So, it you want to buy 250 Orichalcum Picks (33 commendations) with food MFs, this will cost you a total of 1 gold…

For three rares at level 60 (about 21s) you can get 50 Commendations, better exchange

You can get some pretty cheap rare weapons for lower level characters with them.

Well that escalated quickly…

Yeah even so they still don’t seem worth it. I bought some cheap food from the BLTC to get commendations but when I saw what you could buy with them I wondered what the point was, because it’s the same stuff you can already get for less effort than making commendations. So how is that even remotely worth my time and effort as a player? It’s like… I dunno… a negative reward, or something. If the items were unique or special in some way, that would be different, but they’re not. It’s just regular gear.

I found it much easier to trash some gear in the forge than farm karma for those things. Also it’s got 250 pack salvage items and 250 pack gathering tools which I don’t think you can get anywhere else.
