So I talked to one of my friends today who was lucky enough to not get DCed during the final lost shores event.

He actually managed to finish the event 3 times. Twice on different overflows and then on main server. He got the reward 3 times (twice out of that he had legendary precursor, The Legend and The Dusk).

I dont know who thought of making the event the way it was but speaking about unfair, I didnt even get to see the end of the whole weekend event. Was there since Friday, working on the chain to get to see everything and I didnt even get to see how it all ended, when some ppl experienced it 3 times.

Just had to tell you guys…these things are just increasing my pain..

If he had 2 level 80’s, then yes. However, I doubt he did it twice on the same character as I know people that tried that and it wouldn’t let them loot the chest. Then again I know of people that had multiple 80’s and were able to finish the event on one 80, then went to an overflow that hadn’t finished it with a friend and participated in that with their alt and looted it there. Which I see no problem with people with multiple 80’s being able to do the event with each character considering they put the time and effort into getting those characters up there.

I just want my chosen, but he got more than enough to sell those and buy the chosen and have a ton of money left over to put a dent in crafting that legendary. I am so sick to my stomach, RNG rewards really needs to go away in all games imo. Work towards things with marks or something. Ugh…

Why should characters below level 80 not have been able to do the same? I got three exos on my level 50 char, except two of them had a level 62 requirement so no precursors. Even a level 1 char could have done that.

Umm… shouldn’t you just be glad you got to loot the chest 3 times? I, among others, spent hours in different overflows, and I didn’t even get a chest once.

Yeah, but i would give up all my rewards for the chosen and that dent in legendary creation. Doesn’t mean the RNG is good.

This is just LOL. Many ppls didnt recieved any rewards, but someone - recieve it multiply times.

You are unfortunately mistaken. Multiple completions of the DE chain was in fact possible; all you needed was an alt and to find an overflow server still running the chain. If your alt was level 65-80, you would receive rares and exotics scaled to your level, and if your alt was level 1-64, you would receive level 65 rares & exotics.

So yes, some people do have 4 free-ish 20 slot bags on one character, and every event completion had the chance of giving you a precursor. I have a friend who got the shield on his level 7 (and I hate him for it). Heck, people on trial accounts got precursors. And events were running up until the new build at ~10:40 pst.

Sadly I didn’t get one, and was unable to personally extensively server hop due to my noece’s 5th birthday party. But I was able to buy a cheapish zap due to the supply increase!

Your mate is winding you up. I completed the event twice, second time chest was open and unlootable second time.

Edit: You could run it on multiple characters though I guess. Don’t see anything wrong with that, it is a different character after all.

He did it on 3 different characters. If you tried to complete it on one character twice, the chest wouldnt open. Multiple characters = multiple rewards.

You can absolutely do it with different characters. I know someone in my guild who was able to loot it 5 times (he ran 8 alts to the chest spawn location, but it despawned between his 5th and 6th loot attempt).

I know the server hopping on the same character, wasn’t possible. Didn’t do that it on purpose but given a friend of mine by the time we finished and got the chest, they were at the point of the steam fissures, so I joined them on an overflow.

I’m just glad I was able to steer clear of the big attacks so only had to repair my hood, gloves and boots. Chest and back are so exp.

All I did was staring at an NPC that was blocked for 3 hours.
No reward for my server, not while I was on.
So, take your precursors or whatever they are called and shove them up…a forge or something.
Nice island, wrong timing and BAD deployment of content.
Did I mention NO LOOT from mobs on island, no space in bank for ingredients and I could go on and on.
But of course, no subscription, I should better shut my pie hole, right?

I completed this event on my level 60 ranger then switched to my level 80 necro. I got the chest for both. My necro got 2 precursors; Chaos and Leaf of Kudzu. It took a long time to get into a game with my necro but was able to join an overflow server. I do wish this event would have come in the form of a 5 player mode to lessen the chance of disconnection. I ran the event the first time and got disconnected about 10 times. i got lucky to get it once let alone twice.

I’m not one to complain, and this is actually my first forum reply. However, I was going to post something similar. I know they will be compensating for those who got disconnected, etc etc. I fortunately was lucky enough to loot & only disconnected before the boss (I was also lucky enough to make out fairly well). It makes me wicked happy to know that those whom did not get loot will get compensated for all their time What I found rather irritating & disappointing, as did many of my friends/guildies, is that people were not only able to server hop or overflow hop with multiple alts, but also (this being what irritated me most) is that even if they literally got there in the FINAL stage, with the boss 75% dead they were able to loot. Now, why is this irritating? Sure they put the work in for multi 80s, so did I . I actually accidently stumbled upon an overflow server going back to the zone to complete achievements(karka, daily, etc) and told my guild about it for those who dc’d and missed the chest. I even helped on THAT character for a few portions (“The Walking Dead” was on, & I’m a zombie loving girl. Don’t hate!) where I could have swapped characters but chose to help on the character that was most geared & could benefit best(I unlike most, was not selfish & almost half hoped the rewards were account bound not character despite what I heard). But I know people who also went to a 2nd event KNOWING we/they would not get loot (people had confirmed, others knew it was a 1x chest, chests take 24 hrs to reset, etc) because their friends or guild only had a handful of members who needed the event & found an overflow with it just by zoning in and not “spamming” overflow servers. But what appalled 99% of my guild & friends was one of our guildies who had went to TWO events, and got TWO pre cursors, came in on another alt after sleeping for 3 hrs, logged on to hop onto the server and got credit for hitting the boss a few times at 25%. He had done this his 2nd time also(so yes, 2x he hopped to just tag the mob which makes 3x the loot). Now, the fact people put hours of time into the event, only for someone to be able to server hop and get items like the pre cursors, etc is one thing. But giving them that ability for literally doing NOTHING or enjoying their free time just to tag the mob is where most people got extremely annoyed. Being able to loot the chest 3 times is pretty bad, but 3 times just having to TAG a boss around 25% health is just insanely silly. (Not to mention greedy but let’s not go there…)

Reading all this post you would think this game is just made for EXPLOITERS and BOT users, please ANET do something about this , Just ban them all , nobody who opened that 1 time event chest more than once is innocent and deserves an appropriate punishment and this also applies to BOT users. Do something please !!!!
