First of all, thank you very much for the event. It was nicely planned, greatly implemented (except the lagging issues in the first phases, but those were dealt with quite fast) and rewarding. The idea of one-time events changing the game is great and quite unique I think.

But. Yeah, there is always a but.

First, the reward chest drops. I think it is alright there were precursors. Getting them is based on luck anyway, so there is no point crying about not getting one while your gildie did. I understand such feelings, but you should not really be concerned with them. Every game is a game of chance and if you are not lucky this time, you can try next time.
The real problem is the fact that some players did not get their chance to open the chest due to disconnects or crushes. You promised to deal with it and I believe you will, but a little suggestion there – maybe think about a different way of distributing the rewards than player-opened chest?
With the mail system being used for distributing the heart-quest rewards and the fact that the campaign token was distributed through mail way after some players got their story finished I beliefe it is possible, but will require some thinking, at which you guys are good

Second, the one-timeness of the event. Well, the idea is great, as I said, but the manner of realisation is flawed. GW1 offered the ultimate way of realising the event finale – it took place every few hours, so any player anywhere on the globe could take part if they decided to spend some time.
With the Lost Shores it was not that easy – people in some parts of the world simply could not participate, due to work or school taking place at the same time. Why not change the idea of one-time event a bit? After all, the events in GW1 were also annualy one-time, but they allowed a fair chance of participation.
I think that instead of focusing on making the event literally one-time, you should focus on making the reward one-time (I am not a programmer of your caliber, but I believe myself to be good enough to know that it would require little more than adding a single variable to the account/character ). Lets be honest – the finale was not really one time, with people jumping between overflows and getting multiple chests.

This is basically all I wanted to say. I believe and know that I have voiced the thoughts of the mahority of the players, even the ones unsatisfied with the chest drops. We are all players and sooner or later all will realise that, as long as the chances were fair, thats just how the game is.
Just one, last word of advice, and, a request of a loyal player – think really hard what you do concerning the problems with this event so that you do not destroy my beloved game
