Anet should mail out the 2 items that everyone was guaranteed after killing the ancient karka. I don’t think it is fair for Anet to expect the majority of their player base to sit through 2-3 hours worth of slow, unengaging combat. Yes, some people have found repeatable overflows but again you have to wait another 2-3 hours with a lot less back up than when it first started making it much more annoying. Limit the chest to 1 per account, NOT one per character on that account.

I disagree that ArenaNet should cater individuals like you who sat out of it. The only compensation if any should be made to players who faced REAL issues that I could understand like network disconnection at final phase/chest.
I did it in 3 different characters of mine, and received chest rewards PER character. Meaning the final event is account bound but the rewards are only character bound.
Instead of complain pew pews at devs because you didn’t find it challenging enough to participate, you should get a move on while you still can and follow the linked steps! Nothing of this nor last holiday event was guaranteed. It was optional and you had the “choice” to do it. So choose wisely if you still WILL do it before the event closes!

Guess I should have mentioned. I DID complete it but my friend wasn’t able to because of real life issues. He sat through the event all the way till the last reinforcement part then HAD to leave. HE wasted 2 and a half hours to get NOTHING. If you think that’s fair you need to rethink what is and isn’t fair.
Also, I have tried your suggested thing as have a few guildies that completely missed the event and they have yet to find an overflow with it active.

So how about having some form of compensation, or event extension for those whose event time would put them at 4am on a MONDAY morning?

I still disagree, but alas, if they chose to do that then you wouldn’t have missed anything previously already lost because you can acquire those items via karma vendors, and precursors dropped 100-200g from the market making them cheaply acquirable!
Anyway, my disagreement isn’t to those that already did it, participated in it, or disconnected and have a valid reason for not receiving their rewards. It is towards those childish fellows that did absolutely nothing, and want something from it.
There are more alternatives than suggest to be spoon-fed. Just got to go out and read.
