Guild Wars 2

i tried logging in for 8 pm gmt,

login failed until gone midnight gmt for me,

also,

my forum login and my support login also failed during this time.

i had no way to do anything at all in relation to the event,

so it was entirely missed through no fault of mine.

i dont want any compensation for this,

but please make your login servers more dependable during events.

100% with you there Mimizu. We (my wife and myself) were ready to go from 8pm GMT but all we got for next 2+ hours was ‘unable to connect to login server’, mUst have tried 100 times to log in between us but nope never got on. I finally got on about 00:30 GMT when i casually tried but of course event all over by then. Annoying after doing parts 1 & 2 but not the end of the world.

I have to admit though I prefer the old GW1 style events that happened at planned times (every 2 hours) over midwinters day or what ever. Less traffic at any 1 time and there is always a suitable time for each Timezone. I can see what GW2 were trying to do with a One time event but it just failed due to servers and timezone issues and 1 time onlys will alwyas fail for those reasons

i started this thread last night when the login servers finally let me in,
surprised you found it buried on the 5th or so page. :p

when i did login to the game, i saw one other person who said this happened to them also.

was it just us 4?

happend to me to.

tried to logon for 2.5 hours then just gave up on it.

The lack of Anet response on these issues is just sad tbh.

Was doing the event till the 2nd reinforcement event came up. Took a break there, since the event took forever. Almost 1h for beating the 1st reinforcements.

Afterwards, it was impossible to reconnect, because it seemed like the login servers where offline. Or a couple of times GW2 did reconnect, but the play button in the character selection would be grayed out for all characters. thus making it impossible to log back in and finish the event.
