Invisible effects = huge crowds of people dying from huge piles of acid that nobody can see.

:\

There are enemies WELL outside the range of culling launching 20+ puddles of acid, and NOBODY can see it coming until it actually happens. Even the red circles indicating where stuff is going to happen dont immediately show up!

It’s definitely making this event more frustrating than it should.

Yup, dying repeatedly to invisible mobs and invisible acid effects. I can’t even see half the players around me.

ANet needs to stop with these one time only events. At least until they optimize the engine better. Everyone dying from invisible mobs and AoE. Now I can’t even load the zone after trying to res at the waypoint.

Worst thing is: if you disconnect you’re suddenly on a different server where the event probably is in a different state and you’re pretty much screwed.

Not only that, but you get nothing for the kills.

The one thing that I have noticed from todays event is that the priority of the culling is not correct. Especially with mobs like the Veteran Kraka that steam roll us for massive amounts of damage. The culling really needs to prioritize enemies at a much higher distance and needs to load them immediately. Right now a lot of times I’m standing there watching numerous allies shoot at something I can’t see or target. The problem is I’m not supposed to dodge or kill my allies.

Fun fact, after most of your zerg wipes, the mobs will render! Why can’t culling affect Allies? Shouldn’t enemies have priority rendering?

I don’t need to see the 50,000 people around me unless they’re dead and need help. I do need to see the enemy killing us, though!

This event is epic in scope and horrible in execution – I’m done dying to invisible kitten and never ending loading screens for the day.

Just had to Alt-F4 out of GW2 – time to go spend my time doing something more porductive (and fun, sadly).

I can only see mobs when they get right on top of me and then it’s too late (i.e. Death Roll), plus I am ranged so I’m not even sure what I’m fighting. This is not fun, it is frustrating. Plus the repair bill, ugh.

Kinda sad to see how bad this event is when Halloween was epic… although the only part that really bothers me is the crazy lagg wich is pretty easy solved – keep the fighting in ‘dungeons’ and such. Having 1000 people at the same spot, spamming their skills to get kills will cause lagg. Bad bad move. Now I’ve given up on the event, don’t really care much about it. The new dungeon, kewl – but event, no ty.

Anyone else have someone on their server fall, and then run a train back up the ramp? >=(
