Events Feedback : Enough zerg fest
My favorite part of the battle was when the zerg faced 2 Champion Karkas at the same time by the bridge & mortars. The zerg ended up splitting into 2 groups across the field which improved the fps a bit. Plus lobbing mortars into the groups of facehuggers was cathartic.
Hell, it was more of a rez fest! I believe that I spent more time rezzing other players or waiting to get rezzed than I did fighting.
Its rare seeing zerg fests these days in the regular PvE world seeing as how many people left the game. For me seeing a Zerg outside of Orr is a welcome change.
“it doesn’t make you spend hours preparing to have fun, rather than having fun”
Guild missions say otherwise.
The zerg fest was fun. The only thing I hate was 2 x reinforcements and the amount of hatchlings in the nest…….. I am having nightmare of being eaten alive by hundreds of those hatchlings.
Recruiting dungeon raiders.
I dunno, despite all the lag and other troubles that we had, I actually liked working together in a large group. On the overflow I was on our zerg had an entire team just dedicated to rezzing downed players and would provide back up fire if it was needed. If we didn’t split our team up as such, I am not sure we would’ve made it to the end!
I think we could afford to learn from the cathedral of lyssa, by splitting players up to multiple sub-events we could reduce the number on screen without scaling down the epicness.
When the road forked in securing the island on day I actually that that was going to happen and we’d split into sub-groups, but instead the lionguard lady just dragged us along with her and i know now that chain of events isn’t even unique.
Garnished Toast
Had a lot of fun with my zerg on the overflow. We did quite well as a team there. The problem I think doesn’t lie with the group events (lag and such does need fixing a lot though, but that is another thread.) the problem lies to me the rewards. I saw a good chunk of people with broken gear near the end and having some high repair bills because of it. Culling could be accounted to a lot of that because of how mobs weren’t always generating for everyone. As such I felt like if we as players are doing these massive group events then the reward should at least out weigh a full armor of repairs and that is at the very least. That or provide free repairs by an npc for a period of time. Just something I observed.
The other issue is also rewards and that is rewarding the player for helping take down a mob. During the whole event I never once got credit for a Champion or Veteran, yet I did a lot of damage to them. As such I got no xp or drops for most if not all the mobs during the event. Feels like the coding needs reworking for these massive events so that people can at least get something for taking down a large Champion or Veteran Mob.
