Could we get some screen shots of the new dungeon please?

Devona’s Rest
Please fix the part where if someone disconnects from FoTM – that they’re able to rejoin the party (it’s not exactly fair on people if someone randomly leaves mid way through for any reason and needs to come back in) or also allow people to find a replacement if necessary.
Other then that the dungeon is awesome

uh yes, it’s really amazing thumbsup
thank you very much!
Yep just amazing. I just love how they are designed.
Unlocked difficulty 3 today with 3 friends of mine and a pugger (2 engis, 1 necro, 1 warr, 1 guardian). Was a blast from start to end, had some issues with the jade colossus chtulu thingy, but finaly got him down, we were half nekkid but it died.
I must say veteran mobs mixed with regular mobs as trash feels much more balanced than the silver vets of the other dungeons. Also makes it a bit more pug friendly. Was also much more fun with tricky objectives along the path, traps, wisps, JPs etc etc.
Bosses felt very balanced and fun. Felt more right and fun with the mix of regular trash, fun traps and stuff and balanced bosses. It was also doable in an acceptable amount of time.
If youcould only rework the other dungeons to be roughly the same. Regular vets, fun bosses and less chaos.
Got to fractal level 5 with our group for now. Very good design and mechanics, at least from what I’ve seen of all the fractals, really looking forward to see the difficulty kick in and make things challenging. Can’t wait to see what other good stuff is coming up with The Lost Shores!
Wow. That dungeon has been the most unique and amazing experience me and my guildies have felt in a long time in a MMO. So many different missions, unlocking the giant colossus was insanely fun, and then going back to the Ascalon war as a Charr made most of us yell “OHH SNAP!!”. It was amazing
The new dungeon is absolutely breathtaking; both visually and challenge wise. I hope dungeons will be like that from now on! Changes the entire dynamic of the meaning dungeons in games.
I agree, I’ve been having a lot of fun with it so far.
The best part with the colossus was when he was freed and turned back to bow at the party. Could have done without the underwater fractal though.

The dungeons are amazing! I really want to see the new zone though. It will be nice to have a place to farm that isn’t zombies or ice.
I’ve loved them all so far other than the swamp. Playing as a Charr during the invasion of Ascalon was really awesome.
Gandara
Really enjoying the ones we have gotten so far…except the swamp. Alot of fun, and FUNNY! Cat Golems…really? And the names…. The dungeon is very well done…except the swamp. Ugh! The second part of the swamp one though was visually cool. I groaned when we got an underwater one but it is my favorite one so far! (Must have been the buff we rangers got!) Seriously though, don’t want to spoil it for those who haven’t done it, it is FUN!!! Love it that most of it doesn’t seem to be tank and spank either.

Yeah that jellyfish fight was just an insanely longer swimming-in-circles battle spamming skills. That thing has way too much HP and not much challenge, but swimming through the piranha’s in the dark to get there was a very awesome and new concept lol
Hehe, yeah, we all burst out in laughter on ts when we saw the “crazy golemcat lady”.

The underwater fractal was somewhat irritating in the extremely dark cave where you die instantly if you aren’t carrying the plants. The rest was just the product of the overall sluggish nature of underwater combat.
The Shiverpeaks fractal’s Bonfire is just annoying because it’s not immediately obvious that the bonfire comes in 6 parts and needs to be constantly relit in order to make the wall melt faster.
But the colossus turning around to bow at the party…THAT was awesome.
Had a lot of fun with the fractals so far. The swamp one makes me want to gouge out my eyes but the rest are cool! Even with the swamp one, all of them are cool bcause it isn’t a tank and spank. You have to pay attention and fill out a role. Figure out what to do, not just spam buttons.
I do wish there was something that told about each fractal. The Charr was pre-searing. Cool. But a little backstory would be nice for each one.
My favorite is the underwater one! Only 2 of us made it to the last room. We figured out what to do and ended up killing the boss. We then went back and got the rest of our group so they could loot. They were so surprised that we were able to finish it just the two of us. It was awesome!
after finishing the searing fractal my party bugged. we were lead to another fractal but we still remained as charr’s flame legion. We have to free the slaves on the underwater fractal but we couldnt press F so we had to leave the dungeon.
Some of the fractals are pretty fun with a good and geared team, some of the fractals though are downright poor and frustrating as hell.
The inquest prison fractal was horrible ~ we ended up just quitting out of that one. Getting up the jumping puzzle with the harpies knocking you off wasn’t the problem, getting inside the tiny room at the top and having to fight a veteran bomber, champion ettin and a champion fire shaman was – the fire shaman alone practically covered the entire walkable area with lava fonts. Anet – this needs nerfing, one champion there is enough!

Our party had exactly this problem but we found it was because a mob was stuck in a wall. Once we killed it we were able to proceed.

Thanks Anet for making such an awesome dungeon, by far the best i have played in a long time. I have only finished 1 fractal and seen 3, but they are amazing! Also thank you for an awesome event so far even though it was a little laggy. keep up the great work cant wait to see what the rest of the event is like.
And thanks for an awesome game!

We did this one pretty much problem free. Saw the capacitor, cells, and went “stop”
We saw the champion lava shaman and knew he would be a huge pain, so we focused him down while kiting the ettin who is a pretty much non-threat in any situation.
It isn’t the dungeon that needs adjusted, it’s just your teammates. Honestly, the golem midboss later on was a bigger problem than the room with the lava shaman IMO

Get a bad group and … cost of damaged armor > the value of loot. Interesting dungeon for sure, very sad the development team didn’t put more work into the intro cut sequence to explain the new play mechanics.
Everything that’s surfaced since launch seems rushed and half-baked to me. The lack of a proper introduction sequence to this event or the new dungeon are excellent examples of that.
Jury is still out here on judging the overall event, but I am disappointed in ArenaNet in general for lack of detail-oriented design with post-release content.
I was just coming here to make a thread just like this one. I love the Fractals, they feel amazing and I love their mechanics. The only one that makes me annoyed is the swamp one.
After playing through the fractals, simply felt the need to go on the forums and express that it is made of pure awesome. Great sense of exploration and really enjoyed the beauty of the landscape design as well as the content!
Holy kitten this is a good dungeon. Oh my god.

Do Not Run These With Idiots
Yet the game’s design encourages partying up where outside of dungeons? Nowhere would be the answer…. Trying to get a team of people to party up that you know can be difficult. I would argue it’s more difficult in GW2.
Not all of the bosses are that interesting. I would say the three 15-minute shards I’ve run through so far (wait, four there was that dolphin thing) they were all mildly entertaining. There’s a lot going on and very little explanation without a boat load of reading. How difficult are cut scenes to make really? groups (especially ad-hoc groups where you have teens in the mix with no attention span whatsoever) have been a point of frustration for me.
Gear treadmill has arrived for those demanding it. It does work a bit like a casino though since you can easily loose more in armor repair than you walk out with just like other dungeons but more intense because of frequency repairs are allowed.
Loosing more and more faith in this game with each patch.

Wow…just wow. Did FoTM and i swear at one point i thought i was playing another game like..a really good co-op rpg or zelda or some crap. This…this is what you should do everytime.

Even the underwater one was good. The jellyfish boss was meh, but I loved the light is safe/darkness kills mechanic
“A release is 7 days or less away or has just happened within the last 7 days…
These are the only two states you’ll find the world of Tyria.”
Amazing, but bugged a lot. There are a number of other things I’m not a big fan of, but will keep them for other threads.
agreed great dungeons all around
crickits 80 ranger
crickets 80 warrior – current main
I’m shocked people are so easily amused. I wouldn’t say the new dungeon’s are garbage, but having played through all the existing dungeon’s in the game the fractical’s aren’t that cool. No real team strategy was required for any of them! Again, you can still have a team of five where three people are taking it seriously and trying to strategize and the other two are justing spamming weapon skill 1 and throwing up self heal every now and then and yet the team will clear it. I can not put into words how incredibly horrible that game design is.
My expectation has been ArenaNet would make some changes to that. They have not. It seems people who notice it have just left the game.
I’m done promoting the game to friends. I’m almost done playing it. ArenaNet has the number of players on-line, I would be very curious for them to release those numbers. They know where things stand. They know what has happened to even the best of MMORPG’s 2-3 months post launch (SWTOR). At this stage I actually believe it will happen quicker with GW2.
I don’t judge a games death by when the servers go down (game dies long before that once it gets past a certain level of decline post launch. Once an MMORPG hits a certain point on that down curve it’s absolutely done and there is NOTHING that can save it. Years of work gone. Why do you think the owners of BioWare got so depressed they left the industry?). IMO GW2 is…. I love the game too much to say it. It needs more than what’s being offered in this patch to save it. I think it’s past point-critical on the decline curve.
Shipped too soon. Nuff said.

My favourite part of the Fractal Dungeon is at the end of the Colossus part Took a lot of screenshots when that happened lol. Is there any lore related to the Colossus? Because i can’t find anything, or did i missed something about him?
Stormbluff Isle
I agree fully.
The fractal dungeon actually feels like a whole new experience. This is not grind at all. I actually feel like I’m excited while doing it to progress to ascended. They stick to their philosophy of no grinding. It’s simply amazing. Anet really has done a great job on this. I want to express my thanks.
Just wanted to say that “Fractal of the Mists” is awesome. The mechanics, the puzzles to defeat the bosses, boss music, and everything else is amazing. Yeah that’s all, thank you.
awesome dungeons best boss fights i’ve seen so far
Agreed love Fractals, spent abot 1.5 hours duoing a set of them, both of us lvl 80 mesmers me using only a few exotics. Uncharted (the asura one people discussed), Aquatic Ruins, and by far the hardest Cliffside (free the collusus)
Fun, hard, and difficulty isnt tied to just a giant health pool. Definetly plenty of eye candy, on cliffside when I was looking around for screenshots and first look up. Wow.
To those complaining about the Jellyfish there was a mechanic to speed up the killing and completely wipe out the small jellyfish. The cages with lightning that turn on and off all over damage everything near by quite a bit and fast, you can out heal the damage the jellyfish though just get wiped out. Seems to do signifigant damage to the big one too.
Looking forward to what they do in the future, could see this being like sPvP where they add new maps occasionaly.

I’d say that was one of the easier ones. You can whittle down the champions easily as long as you take care of the veteran that will take you by surprise. We got through that without a death. Could have done without the Champion Rabbit though. I was crying from laughing too hard and got downed because of it.
Agreed with the post about the golem mid-way through. He’s probably the hardest part, and he wasn’t that bad either, really. End boss was hilarious to play against.
Resident Thief
They really should fix what they have b4 adding content. They have a lot of bugs before this event, and now they have a ton more.
I wonder what the impression of the ‘free weekend invitees’ are. I personally like the game (but wish they would fix it). To a newcomer, I can see them being totally turned off.
I was saddened with the poor kick-off to the Lost Shores event so when all of the NPCs were broken I decided what the heck lets give FotM a roll. Got together a random PUG team in LA and knocked out 5 fractals tonight. All I can say is A+++ on how well thought out these dungeon(s) are. Yes the no waypoint thing and not being able to get back into a group if you d/c are a nuisance. I have never liked dungeons in most games because it feels like, go through this long winding tunnel and smash 1000 critters then you get to fight a gimmik boss with uber skills.
FotM is spectacular (at least the 5 fractals i have done), now to just fix what they call loot!

Its a fantastic dungeon, and they can pretty easily add new fractals over time to keep the dungeon fresh
It’s an interesting combination of ‘stuff’ but really a mixed bag. The Jellyfish really was just a ridiculous spamfest with a boss with way too much health and not enough real sense of danger or strategy needed besides swim in circles and click skills.
The Dredge fractal ending with the Legendary Rampaging Ice Elemental broke our team’s spirits though. That fight was either bugged or just foolishly difficult. It’s one thing if you can only hurt him when he’s dripping with hot oil, but to have him fully regen as soon as he cools was a bit of a kick in the boys. Particularly when he would tend to stop and sit down for a while during the fight (giving just enough time for the superheated thing to wear off). Despite our best efforts we couldn’t dent him and gave up after 20+ minutes of total futility.

yea this is a boss fight tht requires tight communication with your team or it could be very frustrating but me and my group had a great time finally being able to take him out, a small hint tho is that even thought interrupts may not stop his regen completlely it does slow it down a bit so knowing when to use interupts is a must in this fight.
Does the whole dungeon have jumping and dodging of crap? First part was extremely annoying.
Sorry they are made for people with more than two brain cells.
I didn’t say it was over my level of thought processing, just annoying. Nice try on the assumption though. It went better later with a pug and me going as support as usual.
I enjoyed them a lot today – it was great to see some old areas and our pug did great!
The mossman was weird in the swamp fractal. Dunno what he’s supposed to do other than disappear like rambo or something. Other than that, this dungeon is pure awesome. Already got to level 4 but didn’t see much in terms of agony.
Did you guys bow back at the Colossus for the achievement?
Borlis Pass
I do love this. The art and level design is also wonderful on some of these.
I love the fractals so far, except the Swamp. Swamp one is pain in the behind.
the first part with the wisps, we had to try 40-60 times over the course of 1.5hrs to get it right, I’m kinda glad my party didn’t break up.
Anet, fix this fractal, the rest are brilliant, but this one relies too much on broken hitboxes and preying on luck for the stars to aline. (cause you need it when carrying those wisp orbs in under 35seconds, the trees working against you, 30second cripple traps, and the random bosses that one shot most weaker armor wearers, don’t get me started on the RANDOM kitten BINDS)
Awesome dungeons, wanted to give my props out there. Though I have no love for the grawl lava one!
The art design, as usual in this game is just excelent. Never been desapointed with that.
The dungeons, are not very long, and that’s a good point.
Most of the time, the monster, except the boss, are not boring trash monster with 354340354 HP, so we dont have so long fight, that’s also a good points.
Somes of them have original “challenges” like playing a charr ( even if i really dont like have them as “main” char ) or underwater with the daulphin
That’s also a good point, at least, that change.
The boss look to have less HP than thoses from the others crap donjons, it do not turn into a 30min useless fight doing all the time the same thing. ( meaning : dodge, dodge or sometime dodge, click DPS skills when they are ready.. Booooring
That’s a good point too because god i freaking HATE all your others donjons they are too long, too boring as hell.
But, speaking about the boss fight its still the same problem, its BORING.
No real counter, no way to interupt their skill like GW1 allowed too, stupidly high damage without any way to really prevent that.
It’s always dumbed fight. Lack of skills – lack of build possibilities – lack of freedom ( also having to farm during WAY too many hours to get a exotic set really turn off any motivation of having serval set to try serval “build” ( i i can really call that “build” ) or lvl serval class. soo its a one class – one build game, its really not a good point compare to GW1 )
And, the main problem will still be the same, having to farm thoses dungeon a hundred time to get ONE overpowered ascended items. That’s really the most idiotistic thing of any random grind mmo like GW2 is becoming.
Freaking gear grinding game.
Except that, the dungeon for the dungeon, are way better than the others awfull ones.
But they still wont make me play days and month to farm your stupid overpowered gear, i still really HATE the idea of having my character weaken if i dont farm during month your dungeon to go back to the point where i was before this update.
And stop use the excuse :" with this gear we will introduce new gameplay mecanic….
Since its worse because this gear is supposed to fill the gap ( who wasnt there before this update ) between legenday and exotic
It mean you are going to start basing all your futur content with stuff who is very LONG to have !? so totaly forbbid player who dont like ascended farming to enjoy it…
Jesus. It’s still totaly demotivate me to continue play your game.
EDIT: just the marsh dungeon is totaly STUPID, only 30sec to bring the stuff, what the hell ? except if you have 3mesmer with a 90sec cooldown portal ( GG Anet for the worse skill “update” ever to fix nothing in WvW ) you fail 90% of the time.
