What is going on here? Right as the ancient karka was about to die, I fall through solid rock into a lava layer underneath? That then kills me? And since then, I can’t res properly to a waypoint?

This is absolutely ridiculous. I spent three hours on this, and I know that by now most of the other servers are done, so if I restart I’m not getting the chest. What am I supposed to do?

Run back as fast as you can and hope you get it or overflow hop till you find one with chest out.

The chest despawns after a certain period 2mins? From what i’ve read. I can’t confirm this though

As its health got low the status went from its almost dead, finish her to floor will colapse in 10 seconds. It gave fair warning and even looking at that area caused me to go ranged as I didnt want to stand on a loose pit we’d been planting explosives around an hour before. Not cool you missed the chest but I saw that comeing a mile away not sure how you missed it.

People can’t res you normally, but if they keep trying to heal it’ll work. We got one of our guildmates out just by doing that.

Same thing happened to me.
When the boss was at around 10% hp I feel down into lava and died. I tried to rez quickly to run back to be able to loot.

Then I got stuck in loading screen for 5min and another 15min before I could log in.
And of course. No chest when I got there.
After 2.5hours of doing this event.

Same thing happened to me. I wasted all my time and could not get the chest.

You simply didn’t have to go back to the waypoint, let alone restarting your game.
Just like you, I had fallen into the lava bug, but once the boss was dead I got teleported automatically on safe land among everyone else and I got ressed and opened the chest.

yup, same thing happened. Thanks, ANET for working on giving us compensation.

Good news. Will anything happen for those who were in the event, but the escort bugged out and couldn’t therefore get to boss? was a widespread issue and not everyone was able to switch servers. (obv not asking for a boss chest, but a goodwill gesture of somesort)

I also fell into the ground to the lava before the end of the combat (mesmer falling through textures again). Hopefuly i could go to the waypoint and receive the event prize while going back to the cave.

I also fell through the floor before the event ended, along with several others. Those of us who just waited for the boss to die ended up in plain sight on the ground after the cut scene, able to be easily resurrected. If you’re unsure about being able to make it back, just stay put.

Yeah. That’s what happened to me too… Which meant I watched the cut scene while dead, and that means there was no sound playing of the cut scene because my being dead sound was playing, so I didn’t get a chance to hear anything going on

The ranger skill Search and Rescue by another player will revive you and the pet will not die! (At least my white raven did not). I’m confused if the event is repeating, but if you see this happen, ask in /say for a ranger to help! We’re not useless after all!

We’re investigating a way to make sure anyone who participated in the event, but was unable to loot the chest will still get rewarded. More info on this soon as we know (please see the community post in game announcements for more detail)

Will this mean also the players who, like myself, fought bravely for hours(many in their underwear lol) and then died at the hatchling swarm on the ramp down , during the “chase the Ancient karka” /the phase before final battle? Or do only the final minutes=“Defeat the ancien Karka” count as “the event” entitling a reward?
It was rly sad that people had been so helpfull and laughing among tears rezzing each other through the whole long deathfest on our overflow, but during that chase and the swarm flowing down it was allmost impossible for folks to stop to rez or help without being downed themselves…Then the people who decided to rez at waypoint did not have time to run/swim back to the final “Big” fight cause it was over much much faster than the other fights!
Please consider this, people rly put hours to this and many were defeated in the last phases- even the ones who got left behind in" un-rezzable places" or went to WP just before the said "chase " phase where I died started, they`d had been a vital part of the whole fight for a long time !
