I find the new map to be small
Well it is just 1 map, you expected more than was ever promised here, not their fault.
It is not like it is an expansion or anything like that afterall. It it is nice imo.
I expected a map with…substance.
This is more like a pretty place to look at with three enemy types and nothing else. Not even any vistas or skill points or hearts! It’s literally just….a map.
I’m hoping it’s not finished yet, so for now it’s just been setup by players (making the roads etc), then tomorrow we’ll fight off the karka in phase 3 and after that the map will open proper with more DEs, skill points, vistas etc (all the usual stuff).
Again, this is just a hope.
Zarturo: Elemental – Desolation.
I can’t even get the Pois in the cavern, the area is deader than a ghost town.
My SS says it all ~ people got tired of being one shotted by Karka and left I guess.
Get it taken down -
Do whatever it takes if you care about this game -
Maybe there are no hearts, vistas and skill points because it is only Phase2… maybe afterwards.

I did that event solo no problems…
6 waypoints that I know of, one of which I can’t reach yet. COOL new ranger pet. DEs every 2-3 minutes somewhere. Not so bad so far. Looking forward to tomorrow.

They have said there will be no hearts, like Orr. I expect that to be the case for level 80 zones in general, unless they change their minds about it.
This map seriously needs a map completion with vista, skill challenges. etc..
But now, I don’t really want to go back to that map.
Not trying to be a stick in the mud or anything, but is there any point to actually going there, besides looking at the scenery and killing a couple new mobs? I mean, is there anything else to do?

At least 2 Jumping puzzles and some hidden Treasure Chests guarded by Champions
I expected that whole square area to be opened with giant underwater places.
Please keep in mind that this map was made within three months of release. I find it perfectly suitable for a piece of free content – which, I must add, has been given to us BETWEEN two other giant events (the second being Wintersday next month).

I like the new map. Its a nice change from Orr.
I really like it. They said ‘small to medium’ sized, which got turned into ‘THEY PROMISED MEDIUM I DEMAND A REFUND’ by the reactionary scum that live on the internet. Always expect the lower end estimation.
The original title of this thread was “The new map seems…underwhelming”.
My thoughts are not that “I find it small”. My thoughts are that it is wholly underwhelming and devoid of purpose.

Sorry, but maybe they should better fix the bugs first than to release such an ugly map. No map completion (I still don’t know if I’m missing something), ugly barrier at the end that has holes that are big enough for a Norn, but you still can’t in there, no skill points, long time runing to get somewhere, nearly one mob only.
I’m starting to like Orr now, compared to that.
Okay, that water was nice on some parts. But that still don’t makes it a masterpiece. I’m runing my forth char, and I’m still seeing new things on the old maps. But this new map? Already seen is all and find it boring.
I only have one issue with this map and it’s not the size (it’s small but it’s not the main issue).
There’s a lack of DE, and especially a lack of grindy DE (read plinx, the three camps, tactician megill, etc…).
The reason cursed shore is farmed non stop is because it’s filled with those kind of event that actually rewards you with tons of loot, tons of mats, tons of rare and you can run them pretty much non stop for karma.
The event currently available in this map are definitly not grindy, there’s a lack of event on top of that.
It’s a shame since karkas, drake and sharks (actually there’s a load of shark so it might be a good farming spot if you just seek T6 scales) are a great source of T6 blood/scales/claws which could be an incesitive to leave cursed shore a bit.

The Live Team is a different group of people than the Bug Fixing team, and they work on different schedules. And no, ANet will not assign the Live Team to fix bugs for you. And yes, they’re working on it.
Also, the map is gorgeous.

Supposedly Anet has only two people working on fixing bugs.

Two people.
Not really an “Oh, well, we should be more patient” situation, more of a “Why the HELL do they only have TWO PEOPLE?” situation.
I really like this map. It’s beautiful, has lots of events and i’ve already found 2 orichalcum vains and an ancient tree. Also saw a jump puzzle there that looked interesting although didn’t get very far in it yet. Add the upwards scaling i brought my lvl 60 over and she was getting xp like candy.
I’m thinking that map is in half right now until Sunday’s event. I think we’re only seeing half of it. I’m also thinking we’ll be seeing more Sea of Sorrows updates in the future. There are a few more islands out there.
Having run through the place a third time.I was more impressed after seeing the new zone in daylight. To me it is more like somewhere to make a whirlwind node gathering visit, rather than make home if it doesn’t open up any more.
The events are so sparse and this map functions nothing other than a new tourist attraction, without many tourists!
Yeah, I’m not really feeling it. It’s like Orr’s design problems all over again. Not the one where they had too many mobs but just a kind of hollow feeling to the events.
FotM is the winner in this update.
