Meta event on the new island?
Hmm… even with the ancient karka gone there’s always the possibility of another, or maybe a karka broodmother or the like that’s also of legendary status.
We don’t know yet, but there’s so much potential that it’s better to wait and see what pops up.

Doubt any meta event will replicate what happened on the weekend. There will probably be just your average dynamic events that cycle through to keep the Karka at bay.
Without anything to keep people going there, the zone is going to turn into a ghost town.
if they were smart they would implement an event where that karkas brother/sister/mother/friend whatever attacks and gives the people who missed out a chance at their chest too. have it run for a day or 2 and spawn every 6 hours. then everyone would get their fair shot at the kitten event and arenanet would look like a company who actually cares about giving everyon of their paying customers a chance to experience the content
