My feedback
I have to say that they should not have made a big deal about this event nor should they have made it the free trial period. That was a terrible event. You could elaborate on it quite a bit with the terrible items, worthless store items, poor communications, aweful execution and weak content. It’s vitual buffet of horrible.
What happened? GW1 had great items and excellent events. Practically the high water mark for any mmo. GW2 seems to not have heard of this “GW1” people keep talking about.
I like the game, but I’m saddened to see how little experience was carried over form the first GW.

I will have to agree with you! I feel so confused about all the “shiny” rewards they promise in gw2 and I fail to see them..I have even hard time to track what the kitten is going on…so much scattered information..new recipes, new materials, new armors…and the complete lack of proper guide.
The thing I hate most though is the over hype for a content that did not in fact introduce anything special on the game. I miss GW already!

So after holding up at the ship to eat after the first zerg rush of excitement with 50 players in the new zone.I went around the whole island a second time to collect what nodes I missed and bumped into 5 other players in total.Everyone already upped and left already?

The time you will pass on the new map until you are bored and finally leave, will answer your question.
What sort of reward are you expecting for doing the dungeon? There is little to no gear creep in this game. The reward is the sense of achievement and fun you have while playing. Do you honestly need a carrot in front of you to enjoy the game?

Seriously, from all the things I have mentioned, you came here to comment only in the reward I am wrongly expecting from doing a dungeon and that I am not supposed to expect any? Don’t you have a comment for all the other things I wrote?

This. Exactly this. I echo this sentiment. What a disappointment.

This. Absolutely. Every word is true.
stayed few hours at noll waiting (while watching a movie), expected it will be solved when phase 2 started but … , so took the ship for phase 2 nice graphs but totally no information what to do. Still a great game to play, me and my friends still have alot to explore and as we are into the game we’ll do , but if you make a big weekend event for atracting new players you certainly have a problem atm i’m a bit ashamed for the ones i’ve invited.

No, even the Halloween event was much better. It had a few glaring issues, but overall, I was really impressed with it.
Other than that, I totally agree with the above post. This event is just terrible. I keep hoping for it to pick up, maybe tomorrow? but I don’t know. If this is pretty much it? that’s just sad
It wasn’t an expansion, it was a free content update.
When I’m given something for free, I usually don’t reply, “should I be impressed?”

When somebody hands me a sack of crap as a present, I’m usually not overly enthusiastic about it.

Sorry, but I thing you understood something wrong. Part of their marketing campaign, in order for us to buy GW2 at the first place, was that they will add new content every month or so. They don’t do you a favor, neither its been offered for free! Its part of the product they sold you mate!

Oh, don’t act so entitled. There were bugs that stopped some of the events being playable, and huge lag problems, but also a really enjoyable dungeon and a new map that, unless you’re travelling in groups of 200, is perfectly functional, beautiful & fun.
I can only assume you’ve never played a Bethesda game, because compared with this, they get away with murder.

My purchase of this game wasn’t conditional on the monthly content updates, and I don’t believe anyone who says they wouldn’t have bought it without, to be honest.
To be clear: I’m not denying the issues. I’ve been hit with massive lagspikes too, and bugs have prevented me from completing several of the lead-up events. But I think the complaining has gotten out of hand, and gamers are just getting unreasonable in their unwillingness to focus on any of the good.

Heaven forbid that I, as a paying customer, expect the company providing the product and service to release a product that isn’t half broken. How incredibly selfish and entitled of me!
Yeah, no. Anet’s already got 3 strikes against them this week. 1) Turning their back on their own design philosophy. 2) Breaking promises for class fixes and balancing. 3) An unplayably broken event.
I’m pretty much done with this game, at this point in time.

Nope, because I don’t play broken games. Just because another game is more broken doesn’t make this acceptable. Broken is broken, and I won’t fund a company that makes a habit of putting out broken products.

Oh, don’t pretend that you didn’t get what you paid for, as if ANet breached their contract by releasing something that was unintentionally bugged.

1) I don’t see how. 2) This week has not been about class fixes, and the very fact that in most groups there are no specific class requests indicates to me that GW2 is far more ‘balanced’ than the majority of class/ profession-based games. 3) The event was broken. Most of the other content wasn’t. The event was a tiny fraction of the Lost Shores update as a whole.

To call Guild Wars 2, as an entirety, broken, on the basis of one bugged content release, when most of the content was fine anyway? That seems a mite unfair to me. Maybe we simply disagree on that.

Yeah, because there aren’t still a plethora of broken events, most classes aren’t still sitting on dozens of traits and skills that do something other than what they say they do or just blatantly don’t work at all, we aren’t still looking at bugged and unworking personal story missions…
Oh wait, that’s all happening.
Nevermind that every time I turn around, Anet is releasing a patch to fix something, which just ends up breaking something else.
You may be happy getting crapped on, but some of us have standards.
