Died on the ramp stampeded by hatchling karkas and got separated from the “zerg”. Probably only had another five minutes till the end and the chest. Given I was in constant stream of hatchling karkas, rezz was pretty much impossible. I tried going to the waypoint to see if I could walk back, but the little circle has been spinning for at least 15 minutes now.

I must admit that the other players were really into the “nobody gets left behind” philosophy. Seriously – I saw many, many deaths from people trying to rezz other players under heavy fire. Attached is a scene from early in the evening. A few players managed to recover the crowd of downed players and everybody just kept going.

I think most made it to the end.

This could be my story too exatly, same place=the ramp and hatchling stampede where I got defeated beyond rez, went to wp but no time to run back for last fight/get chest..
And I was even"stupid" enough to go help a friend get back who had a further WP.
And yet in my overflow too people had been so vry very great and persistant rezzing and helping each other!
But that swarm plus the mission to chase the Boss made it pretty impossible for folks to try save those falling
- thus also in “event design” the chase/swarm being the worst part I experienced..
Allready posted about this in another thread, that people who made it so far and contributed to the whole thing, aftr hours of work, it would have been fair to give us a chance of some reward as well.. We got back, searched for anything and Lol finding a karma merchant selling tonics to make u a young karka, indeed, a karka, it was….Insanely funny yet sad!

Yeah our group was pretty awesome about that too! We had an entire team dedicated to rezzing. I was lucky in that I got knocked off the top ramp (that rolling attack _) and landed down where the ancient karka was heading anyways so our zerg ended up getting me on the way down. After killing the ancient karka I ended up rushing back up the ramp to grab everyone else I could so that they could all get the rewards too!

I am sorry you missed out on the chest Wish you had been in our zerg I would’ve grabbed you.

That does suck man. And honestly if Anet were to be looking at who should still get the rewards or access to the chest, these are the situations that should be at the top. You, at least started from the start and worked all the way near the end. Death was your reward, at a point where nobody could get to you in time. There are many like this. With that in mind, those should still get some sort of reward, even mailed.
Unlike the ones complaining, that were likely the same that just sat back and watched everybody else do the fighting in the Reinforcements phase I or II, then found later that all the chasing up and then down, was to get to the chest, which they rightfully so, are too distanced from to get to safely and in time.

No problem. I didn’t want anyone to miss out so I made a point to beeline for the downed players after we killed the guy! I still got my stuff from the chest and everyone from the zerg did as well so it made me feel really good.

I wish other players had been more considerate on the other overflows It saddens me to read the OP’s post.

U got lucky. A guildie reported over seeing over 50, along with himself, die during the events and none got the chest.

This event is a sick, murderous joke.
