it seems to me that a lot of people missed out on a chance to get precursors,
whilst others who were disconnected and got nothing and tickets say they never will.

so please remove all precursors received from the event and delete any gold made from their sale on the TP.

this will sort out the fanboys from the suddenly rich and we might get some honest feedback from the event rather than this current polarity.

Um… no? I didn’t get a precursor, I got all crap. However, I still spent 2-3 hours each event for those rewards, why should they just be deleted?

The also already posted a message that said they would look into DCs but calm the hell down because it’s a lot of work.

At this rate I’m pretty sure we’re doomed to the infighting between the lucky kisd swarming the thread with “thank you Anet don’t give anyone else a chance to get what they deserve” threads and those of us who got gipped. Plus, removing the gold now might actually harsh the economy for people who bought/traded with the people that got loot, which would be unfair to them.

This is a great idea! in fact we should do this with everything. I mean I can only play 3 hours max a day. Everyone who plays more then that should have all their gains and profits removed because I didn’t get the same chance to get those gains and profits!

Also anyone who has gotten lucky with the MF and gotten a precursor that way should be stripped of all their gold and it should be given to the people who didn’t try at all for making a precursor.

Do realize that by doing what they did w/ precursors was great for the econ because its making the over inflated prices drop like a rock which is exactly what everyone wanted since they were getting a bit out of hand. I still remember when dusk was 60g on the tp and that was the most expensive thing you could buy on the tp when it finally went up.

I didn’t get a precursor and I am quite happy w/ how they handled it so far. Those that did the event but had dc’s I hope get compensated by the way. Removing precursors would be TERRIBLE for the economy. Please use your head.

The problem is then you’ll have all the people who spent almost three hellish hours on this event unhappy because their rewards got taken away.

How about no. The rewards achieved were suitable for the kind of epicness we went through. Whether your enjoyed the event or not, THIS is what it’s all about.

RL trumps the game. If you missed out… get over it.

this is just a simple idea to resolve the obvious problem.

and as for me, the login server failed to let me in for hours, so i missed everything.

i dont want any compensation, i just want people to be happy.

If you noticed more people are happy then sad. Me due to being Australian missed everything, but, at least I know what kind of game this is, I wont need to spend my money on it and I can spend it on another game. But I wouldn’t be surprised if more trial accounts got precursors then people with actual accounts, It’s a nice little way of saying, keep playing this game.

Why should things that were gotten LEGITIMATELY be taken from the player that event was 2 and a half hours long +? My overflow went over 3 hours. One of the people in my guild has the dc issue and so did I.

Precursors have other methods to be obtained. Mystic Forge for one, Jormag, Temples, and Dungeon chest.

It was a good event and I’m saying that without even having gotten a precursor.

the happiness of the player base is more important than any virtual economy.

what is the point of having a functioning economy if every is too miserable to login?

reducing everyone to the same level playing field might resolve things.

The problem with making everyone happy is … that’s an impossible task, as people will always find something to complain about.

If I had to make a suggestion, it would be to have spread the loot out throughout the event instead of making it an all or nothing thing at the very end.

I didn’t get a pre-cursor, or even anything that could be used by the class I was playing outside of the backpack and the accessory, but so what? The point of live events is supposed to be the experience of being at the live event,the loot is secondary and not something you’ll even remember in a short time. Loot is nice, but it’s not the end all be all of playing a game, a fact a lot of people seem to have forgotten from gw1 to gw2 sadly. Does it suck if you had a dc or whatever and missed a roll? Yea, it does, but life goes on, it’s happened to all of us at one point or another. Just relax, enjoy the game, and enjoy that you participated in a game history changing event.

The fact of any mmo is that a small percentage of players will be rich and everyone else will not be rich. Just like real life its how things are. Just accept it and move on. Why should this affect how happy you are playing a game?

Everyone around got either precursor or exotic weapon with unique skin (like Ruinmaker pistol) +2 other exotics, while I got 2x rare (gave me 1 ecto with black lion kits) and crappy exotic shoes + exotic cleric necklace (same with crafted, empty upgrade slot). They should do rollback on those rewards and send us tokens, like for finishing personal story. Then put a vendor with precursors, so we can claim any of them. Token account bound, weapon soulbound, same rules as for dungeons. The only thing which should be untouched is the karka chest, same bag and trinket for everyone was really nice

After 3 years of playing Warhammer Online my reward was 2 endless dyes, and people here are complaining about loot. Look about the huge amount of involvement the Arenanet staff put into this event and be happy with the effort that was provided to give us a unique experience. Seriously, get some perspective, and relax.

telling people to get “perspective” and “relax” is patronising, i simply feel sympathy for them, and if you weren’t so busy being smug, you might also.

My jimmies are extremely rustled after the new build was pushed during the boss fight- but I don’t think they should take rewards away from anyone. Did you even try the event? It took over 2 hours and the later stage was very boring. Trust me, they earned them.

Watch out what you’re saying, I took a half-day leave off work, I stayed up all night until 4am, and I kitten a lame 3 hours to complete the event.

I made sacrifices and efforts.

So what if I don’t get precursors? Not everyone that buys the lottery WINS the lottery, wake up and live with reality, it sucks.

Personally, I think they have gotten a lot of honest feedback from the event.

Sure there are a lot of people simply butthurt over the fact that some people got precursors and they didn’t. I didn’t get one either. I didn’t get anything usable by my profession other than the 20 slot box. The rest of the things I got will go on the trade post.

I’m sure the people at Anet reading these forum posts are more than capable of weeding out the posts which are based on simple jealousy.

Do I think they should remove all the rewards? Nope. There is no reason to do that unless they took advantage of an exploit to get them.

While your intentions might be pure, you don’t need to take ownership over Anet’s event problems. Let them deal with it. And hope they learn from their mistakes. If they do not, then this polarity will soon turn their servers into ghost towns.

Why would you ever take back rewards, let me guess, didnt get a precurser. Newsflash a lot of people didnt either, 2 guildies had Dawn and Zap, exacly what I needed for my main mesmer, I have over 600 hours + played, farmed like nuts, did the event yesterday…it will come no doubt.

Oh yeah off topic: anyone knows some news about the “scaviging hunt” for the precursers?

did you even read my post above that stated that i could not attend the event because the login server would not let me?

i agree with you though, anyone who dragged themselves through the long event has earned the rewards, but as i also have stated, the ones who were disconnected did not get their “well-earned” rewards and the support tickets they filed are coming back with “nothing we can do about it” comments.

and as for “boring”, this thread is fast becoming so.

Asking to remove rewards is similar to asking to bring everyone to level 1 and start all over again because some people did not have the time to invest in the game as some others have or because some people get good drops and others dont.

Well, I criticized ANet about the handling of this event but I confess that now I am feeling sorry for the amount of ____ they have to endure every day..:)

this is the dumbest solution to the problem i’ve heard.
you would make more people unhappy than people happy if you remove the rewards.

I was at the event, I endured it, crashed, lost all progress and never even got to see the chest let alone the revards in them … but take them away from the lucky few who did not suffered the same problems I an so many others had?

No chance, I would consider that to be unfair, very bad form and possibly even more difficult to do then to figure out who was at the event and crashed so they can be send their revard chest.

(I hope they figure something out because having some revard for the event would be great and I totally admit to wanting something)

The mindset behind this is ridiculous.

How does someone else having gold affect you in any way? If anything, the influx of precursors should help lower the ridiculous price a bit. The amount of potential gold gained by these precursors isn’t enough to adversely affect the economy. So how are you harmed in this by someone else getting 200 gold instantly? You snobbishly look down on them for falling into wealth instead of earning it? That doesn’t affect you either. If you were the one that got the precursor I’m sure you’d be singing a different song. If not, I would fully expect you to delete the precursor, simply because you feel the gold ill-gotten (which is ridiculous).

I only made about 6 gold off the event with my exotics, because I got suboptimal drops (not even level 80), but I don’t care. The fact that I made ANY money by doing a couple hour event, in addition to the other stuff I got was phenomenal. It was a truly awesome payout, and I feel sorry for people who either missed out because they couldn’t make it or they disconnected. Regardless, don’t be envious of someone who made out with a big chunk of cash because you didn’t.

I feel sympathy for people who got disconnected, having been disconnected and having missed loot rolls from other things I participated in. I don’t feel enough though to think everyone else should suffer because of it, and certainly not enough to take away what everyone else got.

Try and look on the bright side, these people at least got to see the event. There are people who didn’t even get that due to the time zone they lived in.

So, as I understand it, you got nothing good from the chest, are upset that you aren’t suddenly swimming in gold and, in a fit of jealous rage, you want ArenaNet to acquisce to your wishes by taking away everyone’s precursors and gold.

How about you go ahead and get over yourself, buddy?

Removing rewards for people is one of the dumbest things I heard today. Think about it. People were so overjoyed yesterday because of it. So happy. You want to take away that little thing from them, because you’re jealous? Whoa talk about being an kitten.
I dc’ed at the end and didn’t get anything from the event and I am happy for people who got dem rewards. I’m angry at the game for my misfortune not people playing it.

I suffered for 2 hours. I couldn’t care less about those who DC’ed. It is unfortunate for them, sure, and I hope they might get some compensation. But I should not be punished because of their unfortunate DCs.

This how I see it. EVERYONE who participated in the event should get the same rewards. Not some 100g, some 300g, some 2g. We all had a role in finishing the event and no one deserved better rewards than others. I get the idea of gambling, some take chances and get rewarded (kittenystem for precursors anyway, but still), BUT when it comes to an EVENT it should be either ALL get precursors or NO ONE.
I do not care if the prices go down for a few days, that’s not the point.

I really don’t get why it was necessary for Anet to mess with their players again with more RNG. Tbh I would not be complaining if no one had got a precursor. Just the 20 slot bag, earring, 2 exos and 2 rares was decent imo. Tbh I wasn’t expecting a reward at all, so just those would have been enough, but seeing as random people who joined the event for 10 minutes can get rewarded 100 times better and walk away with Dusks Dawns and Legends, then there’s me with a lvl 76 exotic speargun, it’s just plain sad Anet.

Basically everyone should get same rewards, I would have preferred no precursors at all. Me getting 1.7g from the chest and some others with 100-300g, just reminds me of RNG and my luck which is just frustrating, enough for some people to /quit.

Don’t get where these bright ideas come from tbh.
