So I was not able to join the event this evening and that’s fine. But now I read that so many people have gotten a precursor from it I’m feeling discriminated because not everybody has gotten this chance. Yes it’s jealousy and I am well aware that I probably wouldn’t have gotten one if I was able to be there.

I have tried to make a precursor for the last month, spending every last penny I got on making rares and trowing them in the forge, over 1500 rare greatswords gone in and no precursor to show for it. All fair and well, everybody has the same odds and they were just not in my favor. However this reward was just not offered to me, I couldn’t be there why would you make the reward SO big. When I heard you where making a scavenger hunt type of thing to get one I thought that’s a good idea, and I don’t care if it takes you another month or longer to make that as long as you eventually do. But until that time give everybody the same chance for a precursor and don’t favor people who just happened to be able to attend the event.

And no I won’t quit playing over this, the game is still good, I just want you to think about this and don’t discriminate players who just can’t be there at a certain time.

Absolutely rediculous, Why even put them in they cost SOOO much gold, while rest get garbage loot, You guys just want to cause drama.

I’m just amazed that someone who got a free trial can get a precursor, while others who have been playing since day one and have hundreds of hours clocked in didn’t get anything as they had real life committments and couldn’t attend the event.

I can understand why they like doing one-time events, but putting precursors in them is crazy.

I suspect it was just set to drop a couple of exotics from the global loot table, said loot table includes the precursors as they can technicly drop from anything including the obsidian santum jumping puzzle. those lucky few just got lucky and the dice pooped out a precursor

I didn’t get a precursor drop but was able to buy one for 46g because of the event.

I can understand people being peeved at not getting a precursor. I never get anything good from chests / event either. But I hadn’t thought about the free trial folks getting Precursor items. They might not even realize what they got.

That’s a real kick in the nuts to the players who have been around since launch (and beta). LOL can’t help but rage and laugh at the same time…

Their prices needed to be dropped. Nothing to really get put off about.

falling to what still over 100G LOL and I dont buy it, the drop rate on precursors was substantially increased on this event, On the overflow i was on i counted about 20 precursors aloneand that is people that linked them, that is not normal.

Prices will rise again pretty soon, so if you didn’t get any precursors (that you could sell to get your) – you’ve lost. I’ve saved some gold until today, sold everything i had right now and trying to outbid, but i’m probably done and wont get anythign out of this event, except amulet, bag, 3 ectos and exotics worth 60s.

Anyways…he opens the last chest… he said to me…I got a cool sword called dusk and a staff I don’t need..

I told him how to link the items to chat…

I fell out my chair.

He got Dusk and the staff (forgot the name) that are needed for legendaries!!!

Me = 3 day headstart player (many years loyal to GW1) and all these events I have gotten trash except for a few exotics…which Im talking about all events total Ive done including dragon fights.

They aren’t inherently more valuable then other exotics. In fact there are much harder to make exotics in the game. People just valued them because of the word “Legendary” They are a random drop from the chest. You should be happy, they are dropping in price so that more people can afford them. That is what everyone wanted isn’t it?

Ouch…that is kind of painful to hear. Especially since many trial users won’t be back after their trial is up.

Errr as loot was scaled to your level, and your friend was scaled up to level 80. I can’t see how he got level 80 rewards when his real level was considerably less.

I did the event with 2 friends who used their alts. (55 and 64) and they got
exotic rewards scaled to their real level. And many people on this very forum have said the same.

I find it hard to believe that a trial player on a low level character got level 80 rewards at the end of the event.

ask him to give them to you if he leaves.

Tell your friend that he should give me the staff cause I really need it :P

Hmmm I suspect its level tiers ;→ quite a simple concept really all the exotics i received were 78 to 80..

So if the friend was level 70+ maybe i could see them getting level 80 rewards, but thats some serious levelling to get that high during the 3 day trial.

So for the players who could not make it on in time due to work don’t get a freaking precursor? I’m really starting to hate this game played GW1 sense beta and never have a seen such BS from this company. If this is the way things are going to go I think I may just toss this game in the trash and say forget it. Why should I have to grind 300+ gold why everyone else gets it for free.

I’m one of the new players I got great loot but high level not scaled to my own level at all.

Basic economics says that precursors will no longer be 300+g if lots and lots of people get them, sillyhead.

Doesn’t Dusk have a level 80 requirement to equip? Do trials start at level 80 or something? Also I heard rewards were scaled with level.

Well, you’re wrong. Sorry. Only level 80’s could have gotten it because the item drops were level-based. I know because a few of my guild members weren’t level 80 and got rares and exotics of their level (60’s). One did the even on a level 30 character and only got level 30 based gear. So ya.

Who is everyone else? Do you think that everyone who looted the chest got precursors? If that’s what you think you are mistaken.

Not everyone got a precursor. The drop late is still extremely low, it’s just that thousands of people were opening the chests.

Not everyone got a precursor. I got rares/exotics worth 2-5g total. Not that big a deal man. Grow up.

I was there, and I definitely didn’t get a precursor. I’ve been working my butt of making the gifts for Bifrost and I still have yet to see The Legend.

So, no, not ‘everyone’ is getting free precusors.

Most people that were part of it did not get anything close to a precursor. There were just a lot of people participating so the amount of people getting that nice RNG hit was higher, especially with the chest loot increase thingy they’ve done.

Again…many, many people did not get one. Saying ‘everyone else gets it for free’ is very inaccurate.

No he was scaled to 80 for event you can equip lvl 80 item if you have it.
You know like PVP gear, and how people from halloween event equipped exotic lvl 80s and now using them to lvl on alts.

Obviously, the benefit to giving precursors to trial accounts is to encourage them to buy and keep playing an obviously flawed game.

This, 700 hours in game and I’m still not even close to a precursor, done everything except for attend this event due to time constraints, and looks like I get kittened over again. :/

The thing is any exotic is the same thing as a precursor 80% of people that get it wont even make the legendary, WHY are the precursors so expensive and rare.
