Because I’m so excited for this patch. It’s going to be HUGE apparently with a lot of bug fixes and class changes.

According to some screenshots from Reddit, Jon Peters showed up in the Heart of the Mists, and said there was “about 5 pages of changes for the professions alone” with the most going to the engineer, and the least going to the mesmer (which implies everyone is getting tweaked in some way).

Holy kitten now im even more exited as i am an 80 engineer! Weapon stats and sigils in kits pls!

There is certainly some rampaging going on here too.

But also some sadness, because we will be just-another-gear-grind-MMO as of today

But I’m sure the many good things will outweight that one very, very negative thing!

It’s not a gear grind and all of you scare mongers need to stop complaining about this. For starters they’re only introducing TWO pieces of ascended gear at the moment, and it sits above Exotic and between Legendaries, so it actually reduces gear grind. Just be excited for new content and the opportunity to advance your character. Or would you rather get your exotic gear and then stay there for the next few years -_-

Of course the engineer changes just could be a page of tooltip corrections, whereas the mesmer’s “few changes” could be to the effect of “removed portal”, “removed all non-LoS skills”, “halved damage”

Come on Anet! It’s the 15th, where’s our patch and/or notes?

I’m itching to see the class change/fixes!

People aren’t angry because they changed the cosmetic grind. If they’d just done that that wouldve been awesome. hell even having the ascended be equivalent stats but with the ascension slots wouldve been alright. It’s the fact that three months in there’s already power creep and no reason to believe it will stop. In order to be at maximum stats you need the new tier of gear.

Hyperbole has its place. This just makes you seem like you dont have any foot in reality. I know it was an illistration but I am sick of all the QQ from people who havent even played the new patch.

If after the patch you still feel like this is a valid comparison we will talk… about your need for therapy

If you notice Xenon the people who are whining. Are the people saying OH MY GOD I have to keep playing to get stronger wah……Like you just didn’t do that all your mmorpg life. MMORPG’s don’t end so ofcourse the gear climb won’t either.

After seeing the PC Gamer – Tour of The Lost Shores video I’m more exicted than ever. I hate how all the focus is going to the gear (although yes, it’s somewhat a big issue). But this event looks like it’s going to a blast. Can’t wait.

There also is no reason to belive it will continue, other than the full range of ascended and legendaries being released.

Yes to be max stats you’ll need legendary gear. You wont necessarily need, ascended to get legendary, just as you do not need rare to get exotic. A true treadmill would be if it was mandatory to have one before you can get the other (not including pre req weapons because they are more of a material to use and over no stat diiference than other exotics).

We also dont need exotic to get ascended as the fotm can be accessed by any character of any level and be upscaled (at least during the event if i read correctly).
