No, they’ve said multiple times, today included, that the content and big patch go live today at Noon PST, but the events start tomorrow.

ANet definitely is not very punctual. This is a pretty consistent thing.
I don’t know how they run things, but normally when a company sets an exact deadline like this you try extremely hard to be dead-on with it. It would be normal practice to have everything actually ready well in advance, and you simply wait until the deadline to actually release regardless of the fact that, due to proper preparation, it could actually be out sooner.
I feel like they procrastinate and leave it all for some last minute frenzy of effort.

well, getting the patch sometime tonight/today would be good…

don’t want to log-in, go into an instance and then get kicked out for the patch….

being the “first” big expansion, i guess we could see some delays…but too much of a delay and you lose interest basically.
hopefully, once Arenanet are fully stable on their feet we could see better timing

Same with the patch notes being released hours and hours after the actual patch.

I am not surprised, considering they kept saying the halloween stuff would start on a certain day, and actually meant “As late as possible on that day”.

But this time they gave us a set time, repeatedly, including reassuring us today. It’s now half an hour late. Is it a world crisis? No, but it’s stupid, and it’s disappointing. Sometimes people set time aside for stuff like this. That time I’ve set is running out. Thank you for giving us a bunk time, once again.

This makes me want to post the full definition of "soon™ " from WOW. It really does fit here, but this would be ArenaNets trademarked version of it

Unfortunately, there is a very marked difference between “Soon” and “12pm PST, November 15.”

Noon is a repeatable event that resets after 24 hours.

When did they say the patch was at noon? All they said, from what I remember, is that the friend’s free trial thing starts.

It was also available on the Lost Shores page, until yesterday that the patch would be on the 15th, and the events would start on the 16th

On topic, where did it say this patch was being launched at Noon today? I must of missed that. And if so, it should of been launched about an hour ago.

But I never saw anything saying Lost Shores was starting on the 15th as well.

Look it makes no sense to tell us times you cant keep because all it does is piss us off. You could have said 6 pm tonight. No one would have complained since we all go by Anet’s schedule. We aren’t rushing them. Just don’t tell us to show up some place and not be there lets be honest its a crappy move.

Seems to be the day of bad/late patches for online games. SWTOR is going free to play today and was supposed to be back up at 12 pm CST and they are still having maintenance going on now 3 hours later, and now ANet is running late with their patch. Maybe it’s my fault because I wanted to get everything downloaded so that I could play as soon as I get home from work tonight.

If you haven’t guessed yet since we don’t have general forum the complaints here are more generic. TBH the event is cool and all but the people stalking the forums pretty much only really care about the balancing patch notes. The event starts tomorrow. The patch was supposed to be an hour ago.

Honestly releasing the patch notes would have been enough. This cloak and dagger act is getting a lil old (pun intended).

The patch will be out when it is ready to be pushed out… and there might be a hundred different reasons why that wasn’t at the time you were expecting. Occupy yourselves like a dignified human being and stop crying about your disappointments for the world to read. It’s unsightly.

On a side note. Threads like this wouldn’t exist if the information was accurate in the first place. Having a delay is one thing. Announcing a time that people plan their day around and then standing them up without a single word is something else. If they had just made a general statement about the delay none of this would be an issue. It is exactly the lack of communication that is the problem here. It shows that they cannot be trusted to keep their word. It is poor customer service. You can say what you want about me. I don’t care what you think. It doesn’t change the fact that I took time out of my day to deal with this patch at the announced time, and it didn’t happen. Now I will be playing the guessing game as to when I should expect the patch since ANET cannot be bothered to communicate with us. Contrary to your beliefs I am not in the minority here.

Because in an “Unknown” Part of the world it is nighttime, 9pm GMT here atm, and not everybody has all the time in the world nor does everyone have to play other games or go do something else, maybe they enjoy(ed) GW2 more than other games.

I don’t understand ArenaNet sometimes. The communication is amazing in some ways, but in other ways it’s just absolutely awful. And it’s always with releases of things! The trading post, halloween events, Lost Shores, patches, changes to things people have been asking about, they’re awful at communicating about this stuff!

Wouldn’t be surprised we don’t see patch till later tonight. They seem to not release patches till the evening PST most of the time, even if they state otherwise.
